Re: Meet The Edgy And Mature Fan-Made Pokémon Game That Aims To "Fix" The Series

I tried giving it a go, but problems start (and there are many) with the fact that the game introduces itself with chapters and you begin in a friggin long and slow prologue.
It's boring and slow and uninteresting. Getting into the 'game' takes far too long. You can't go into other houses or buildings because you're given a specific goal, so you're unable to explore. I can see why GF don't do so heavily on dialog story and chapters, it would ruin their games.
Characters look boring so there's no charm to designs. Dialog is uncreative at times and the rudeness is unnecessary (some charming dialog here and there).
And finally, after finishing the prologue and getting into Chapter 1, I died (an overpowered critical hit from full health) and then I proceed to respawn and let the text go by, but instantly met a bug that prevented me from moving, pauses, anything, afterwards.
It's not hard to proof check a scenario where a player falls in the first area for bugs.
And I didn't save. I guess you can blame that on me, but I don't want to waste 1 hour again.

I highly disagree with with how they see Pokemon's problems. It's like they don't even know Pokemon to the core.
Characters? The game can do so much, the anime and manga does it for us. Balance? Is this a joke? You're making a fan version, it doesn't bloody matter. And by removing Gyms, and Elite Four's, you eliminate the reason why people train Pokemon, why character's venture and even have Pokemon, the importance of the battling entertainment.
Why live in this world?

Re: Competitive Super Smash Bros. Scene in Spain Prepares to Ban Bayonetta

KO-Cub

Lemme share something I believe will be a prophecy for Bayo's future.

"I almost never agree with banning anything in a fighting game and feel adaption should run its course. Even if Bayo warrants a ban, it's definitely too soon, IMO. But this perspective fits nicely though:

"We went through this in Brawl where MK is obviously hilariously broken.

Community - "No we should wait for more data"

... 6 months pass and some people switch to MK, some quit altogether...

Community - "Yeah he's good but we still need more data"

... 6 more months pass, more switch to MK, more quit...

"Well we have the data and MK is killing the game... Time to ban"

MK Players - "We (50% of the remaining players and most top players) will quit if you ban MK"

Community - "Well fudgeridooda...can't ban MK then"

The moral of the story (which has obviously been simplified) is that there is a time limit on implementing a ban. If we wait until the answer is obvious the damage is likely already done.

Ideally what will happen is this localized ban will force Nintendo's hand and 3 months from now we will have a healthy Bayonetta and the bans will be overturned but if we wait we risk losing another game which, outside of Bayonetta, is incredibly well balanced for a game with 60 characters."

Re: Fire Emblem Fates Becomes Fastest Selling Release in Franchise History in the US

@Gridatttack - What Small niche market? The weebs? Well that was just a bonus. I mean, the only reasons why Awakening sold well was timing and marketing, something they could have done with RD or every other FE in general. And now what a franchise that could have been ever expanding in mechanics and puzzles and developed characters and loved without dramatic changes, ceased. So no, @PlywoodStick, the shell of Kaga was never a shell. It was the 'magic' of Kaga because it was revolved around Kaga's original work and IS took time to add more to them. If a shell is the case, then I expect Advanced Wars to come back as shallow and weeby. Because the IS now is wearing the shell of the good IS that made good constant games back in the day.

Re: Video: Nintendo Reminds Us of Just How Much DLC We Had for Super Smash Bros.

@Detective_TeeJay - (Okay, let's dive in detail)
Sakurai was all about making DLC worth the buy. He said they would scheme things into new characters to make them worth buying, playing and to freshen up the game. Look at Ryu, Cloud, Bayonetta and their features no other characters have. Now look at Metwo and Lucas. For some DLC characters these two, they fit the rest of the normal cast like they should have been in there from the get go. They might be cool, but not as good as RosaLuma or Diddy that came with the game. They might not be worth your money also since they aren't as good as Ryu or fun and cool as Cloud. I wouldn't mind any of this if you could get your money back or trade DLC characters like Mewtwo for Corrin, but you can't.
This is what I meant by 'power creep'. As DLC went on, the characters creep up the tier list and the newer ones feel like they're worth the money for the newer features they bring to the game, compared to the first few DLC characters, that looking at now, aren't so worth it with few features and nothing new. Like I said, characters like Cloud and Bayonetta make me regret buying Mewtwo.
Do you get where I'm going?
