It's been a couple weeks since Nintendo added another costume to Super Mario Maker. After the rather bizarre addition of BABYMETAL members, it's nice to see Nintendo is working on getting more of its own characters in the game, as it's just been announced that Nana and Popo will be making an appearance as a mystery costume.
Though the Ice Climbers have only starred in one NES game, they attracted something of a cult following after two consecutive appearances in Super Smash Bros. games. Check out the video showing them off below:
What do you think? Who else would you like to see added to Super Mario Maker? Would you like to see another Ice Climbers game? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

You add them on Super Mario Maker, but not Super Smash Bros!?
Great job... Nintendo WHY 3DS WHY!
This is still neat though.
At first I thought you just made the laziest subtitle ever, but then...I saw what you did there. Nice one.
The wounds are still fresh from their Smash 4 Departure, yet it is nice to know that the ICies aren't forgotten.
YAY First one since Starfy that I've wanted,
ice climers too confirmed. trust me my dad works at nintendo
@boyika Sorry, but Reggie is my Uncle and Ice Climbers 2 is forever stuck in development. It may have a chance on iOS though.
In all honesty, I'm kinda shocked we never saw another Ice Climbers game. Ever. I'd think a budget eShop game or something would be pretty neat. Maybe someday...
The Ice Climbers are still two of my favorite Nintendo characters... I'd love to see them in a new game... or at least in the next Smash Bros!
Hope to see them again in Super Smash Bros. 5.
Super Mario Maker > Smash 3DS
About time!
Squirtle
Ice Climbers
Wolf for SMM, anyone?
Nintendo finally remembered who these guys are. They must have been doing a spring clean and found them hidden down the back. lol
Here's a short Pikmin themed level I made only a few hours ago. Not very difficult at all. You just have to use the Pikmin to carry the POW block a short distance and use it as a step to reach the flag. There's also a small hidden sub section that helps get an extra 2 lives from the level. I think it's unique, I've played thousands of levels and haven't come across this idea or method.

Finally a costume that isn't some random Japan only anime!
We need more of this.
I was suprised that the Ice Climbers didn't have their own SMM costume already.
@MysteryAozz @Knuckles
I'm torn, you know. On one hand, yep, the 3DS version is "to blame" for the Ice Climbers' absence, even though Sakurai could have retooled them into not featuring their "two characters in one" mechanic.
On the other hand, I will be forever grateful to the 3DS version for FINALLY giving us the possibility to play Super Smash Bros. on the go.
Still, I'm hyped like you wouldn't believe for the Ice Climbers costume, especially if you consider there's a lot of IC stuff you can do in Mario Maker, too, like breakable blocks and more.
Glad to see they got in. Also, ''insert obligatory Smash comment, here''.
Finally! I figured they would get added evenutally
@AlexSora89 Why would Sakurai get rid of their 2-1 mechanic? That's literally the reason they were added in the first place and without that they don't have anything very unique.
Great to see they've been added to Mario Maker after being snubbed in SSB4.
I wish ninty would make a new Ice Climber game for the e-shop.
@Zombo
Other than representing their own game, you mean?
Mario Maker for the 3DS deconfirmed
@JustJulyo
I get it's a joke but at the moment the 3DS is a roughly 97% complete handheld: add a portable Mario Maker and, coupled with Smash Bros for 3DS, my 3DS would become The Handheld That Keeps On Giving. I'm not letting that hope go yet.
@Knuckles aw. but I still hav my hopes up
While Ice Climbers isn't a good game, Nintendo could definitely carve a great game out of the ideas it presents.
