@John_Deacon Actually, this is a great point. The game is priced MUCH lower than I thought. As someone who didn't enjoy the first hollow knight, I bought Silksong because of the very low price. one has to wonder if they will far exceed sales at $20 than they would have at, say, $40

PJ & Ollie... I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only ones that didn't care much for the first entry. I hope you guys give updates with your experience. There was no way I was going to get this if the price was north of $50. But at $20? Done. Heck I spend more than that on lotto scratchers!

@N8tiveT3ch honestly it isn't that bad. unless you're switching between ps5 and switch versions, you likely won't notice.

@Yydeckard Excellent point about Bananza. I feel like I got great value out of that as well. I'll say the same about AC Shadows and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Had over 200 hours in the second and over 100 in the first. That's incredible value, imo.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the $20 price tag on Silksong. Pricing it so low gives me pause about how much content there will be out of the gate. But, as someone that did not enjoy the first Hollow Knight, I'll pay $20 to give this one a shot.

@Divide_and_Wander THIS! I came here to say something similar. I remember seeing a lot of concern from folks online that Mario Kart World was not enough, but clearly Nintendo saw something we didn't. I can safely say I've never bought as many games for a new system as I have with Switch 2. Just a fantastic line up out the gate.

@splinters I got it for Xbox in 2020. played about 20-30 hours then lost interest. Would you say the game is much better now?

For me, this all lines up PERFECT. Sure, I could get this on PS5, but it runs well on Switch 2. Summer is here, and I've got plans to travel, so this is a no brainer for me, and I'm sure I'm not alone!

@Sahnec Love it. Instead of running a new HDMI cable to my TV, I unplugged the Xbox and used that. So, PS5 and Switch 2 are connected to my TV. I'd bet I'm not the only one. PS5 will be juuuuuust fine. It's Xbox that needs to be concerned.

@TheExile285 I'll add that it wasn't very intuitive that you had to push + to get to it! I had to look it up online, and that's a huge L in my book.

@Alcea great point about 1 2 switch. I've already spent more time with Welcome Tour than I did with 1 2 Switch.

@sanderev 100% agreed. I got the game ($10 isn't really all that much considering how much I spent with Nin last week lol), and I've genuinely enjoyed it! It's quite good. If it was a pack in game, the value would be through the roof.

Isn't it amazing that just 8-9 years ago, folks were talking about the only way nintendo surviving was to put their games on ios? What a difference a decade makes!

It sure bothers me! It was more acceptable in TotK because you could use your sword to fight unlimitedly. If you get in trouble in Echos, it becomes a chore.

I'm in! just jumped back into the game yesterday after only completing an hour or so last year. I'm ready!

I hope you guys know how important these types of reviews are. I was waiting to hear from you on the performance before I pulled the trigger, and now that we see its pretty bad, you've saved me from making a bad purchase. Seems like it holds up best on console which is where I'll pick it up. THANK YOU!

The only thing I don't like about this is that I have to wait until the end of september to play zelda

As someone who never played this game and isn't into the rpg style, I've put about 30 hours into it and it is FANTASTIC for anyone on the fence. The writing is phenomenal, I wish they'd do a TTYD 2

In summation: get it if you've never played it but if you've played it, pass.

As someone who didn't own a 3ds or a Wii (or Wii U), I'm thrilled Nintendo is rereleasing all these games so I can play them on Switch. I've bought most of the rereleases over the life cycle of the Switch and I've been quite happy with them. I do, however, feel bad for others that have already experienced these games and have to wait for brand new ones.

I tried so hard to like the first game. put in around 10 hours, but I just couldn't get into it. Maybe the new one will be more my style.

More lost crown, please. that game is 10/10!

@JasonLee99 I don't know. A game of ~8 hours (minus collectibles) for full price, even if it is Nintendo, is a hard sell for me.

This game is fantastic. Really, really great idea executed exceptionally well. This is not, however, a GOTY. Sorry guys, it just aint.

@GrailUK I gotta agree with this. the hardware is almost 8 years old. 30 FPS is expected on all switch games imo. If its 60, that's just a nice surprise.

Keeping this one on my list. Not a fan of the styling. It just doesn't look like it will control well...

Absolutely fantastic run. This game kept me occupied through long haul flights to Iceland, GB, etc. That was quite a few years ago, though, and I'm glad to see this journey come to an end. Dead Cells 2!
