Cool, getting it. Though with this and yesterday’s direct I really don’t know how to gather all the money and time needed. I’m a family man for god’s sake.
Fantastic game, and for ppl who haven’t bought it on WiiU the price is actually ok, it’s a solid Nintendo quality title. I myself won’t go for full whack again though, too many other games that are new to me. I get that it won’t happen but a sort of WiiU loyalty discount for all these ports might’ve tipped the scale as I own almost every one announced or released.
@ArcanaXVI I checked my album list again and it’s only 12 tracks! Imagine squeezing that in from a game with so many great melodies. I think I’ll have to visit that link again. Cheers
@ArcanaXVI Goodness no, I’m mean the one you got when you bought the special pack (with the fantastic monado red wii pro controller). Been too lazy to look this one up as in all fairness, they picked the correct tracks for it.
@ArcanaXVI Agreed, some tracks you can sense it was written with a track from XC1 in mind (gormott=gaur plain, know our names=recall our names etc), but it still is a truly brilliant OST and I’m happy to see that so many tracks are added (the XC1 CD only had 20 something on it). My only gripe is having to wait til late may.
Bravo, I hold the original as one of adult me’s top 5 titles and couldn’t help but feel a bit bummed by the turn X took, both in style and function. This will go under the tree the 24th.
Won’t watch it. This is the downside to directs focusing on one game alone, everything gets shown beforehand. I want this experience as spoiler-free as possible.
Rest of the family's a bit feverish so when not tending them, I'll be playing Binding of Isaac and hopefully do the splatfest with a mate if he's on. He nabbed us a snes mini each but I haven't gotten round to collecting it. And my wife doesn't know...
Yeah, I'll still play it on my mini. And if we could get the EU release of the collection I'd be more than pleased. I get the same feeling from this as the one with all new "remakes" of FF-games on smartphone. - A bit hollow.
Yeah I don't know why but I figured we'd get in the euros not too far off from the US release. I'll get it when it comes here, any word on the file size?
@uhhhhhhhh Kids are great, my son maimed my Shulk and Zelda amiibos. Fcourse my own fault, didn't know he could climb so fast. Anyway, good thing on an interesting update but do long for some social functions and liked the menu tunes we had on the WiiU - get to work Nintendo.
In this day and age, you don't contact customer service, you about it on the internet as loudly as possible. I have encountered this issue in much the same way it occurs on any other bluetooth unit (ie distance and obstacles). It works perfectly in other words. You know what grinds my gears?
Ok so I will be getting this but not hell-bent on buying it day one (just bought a house so time and money will be spent on paint and wallpaper whether the line up is thin or not). Nintendo hasn't lost me on the price (though a bit higher than I had hoped) or the launch line-up (though a bit thinner than I had hoped). I'm a bit worried how many would be customers Nintendo is scaring off though, in the end it could mean 3rd party will have the same reasoning as they did with the wiiu. Myself I will have loads of fun with mates and family so I'm good I guess. Very pleased to see XC2 going back to being XC rather than XCX, can't wait for that one.
Love this game, I remember one night geeking out with three friends and a case of beer. It all got very Star Trek and had the first engineer kept his wits about him longer (beer partly to blame) we could've seen it through. Fantastic fun.
@Peach64 Agreed, though the size and explpration was actually what did it for me. Sure the visuals were lovely too and there were stuff worth enjoying but every time I sat down to play I kept thinking of giving the original a go again. And again, the music while bearable (NLA excepted) is nowhere near the brilliant composing of XC.
@Elanczewski You saved me the time to write ecactly this - thanks! Also, the soundtrackas are miles apart. As much as I like the game, I can't get my head around some of the choices made coming off the first game. XC is on my top five all time. Absolutely love it.
@therealgamer Well yeah, but I also feel the art direction, battle system, music (God yes) and overall atmos was better. The only notes where XCX went higher was the graphics, scope and size. I bash it a lot, i genuinely enjoyed it (and put a lot of time into it) but seeing how great XC was, I couldn't help but feel a wee bit dissapointed.
@EllenJMiller This - I poured a lot of time into both these games and XCX is great. However playing it is also a constant reminder that XC is so much better (one of my all-time favs) in nearly every aspect. I want a new XC closer to the first game and for the love of Zanza bring back the original composers!
So I just went and placed an order. Guess I'll have to adjust once the bundles are revealed. Man I am stoked for this, kinda happy they waited this late before launch now
I really enjoy the game, it is awesome, but the original is better in almost every aspect, soundtrackwise very much so. I can't imagine what went through the producers heads when the greenlighted the vocals. It still is a great game with some brilliant ideas and fantastic dcenery, just not as great as its older brother.
Love the game but yeah, there are two issues I have, the miniscule text being one. The other one is the music which is nowhere near as good as it's predecessor. Still, fantastic game and I guess the soundtrack stays put, but it would be brilliant if I wouldn't have to squint to read everything.
I think tou might be right. It's not a cheat as such but I think it is more fun doing it yourself. That's the feeling I got when backtracking and beating beasts like Immovable Gonzales in the first game anyway. Sneaky-sneak in the beginning became Stompy-stomp later on
Great writing and certainly a feature I can relate to, we share similar memories. I would happily meet my piers in the new game but sadly I've moved to a remote place where connection is limited. Sort of like Mira I guess.
It's not a question of whether I'll get ot o not, but rather how I'll find the time to play it. But no matter, once I do it will no doubt be total bliss.
I've been looking forward to XCX since its reveal. I've been hitting the original since summer and stopped watching videos of the sequel because of spoilers. The original is one of my all-time-top10. Did I mention I love Xenoblade?
