Re: Soapbox: Nintendo, the NES Mini and Ongoing Stock Problems

Iggly

Stock problems can be annoying and I don't bother paying things above their suggested price. Aside from Breath of the Wild next year, I'll be sticking with last gen games for 2017 since their prices are much cheaper now and can keep you occupied for a long time.

Re: North American eShop Cyber Deals Bring Over 40 Discounts

Iggly

Nothing too special, if I had to choose I would probably pick up Mass Attack and Kirby Fighters Deluxe. I'm mostly just waiting until Steam shows what they have up for sale before I start buying some games this week.

Edit: Scratch that, didn't notice the store page updated today. Welp, time to do some buying lol.

Re: Here Are Your New My Nintendo Rewards

Nothing too interesting to get, but hey I can finally get Xenoblade since I was waiting to see if I can get it on sale. Good thing the discounts stay for a long while so I can grab it once I'm back from vacation.

Re: Review: Pirate Pop Plus (Wii U eShop)

Sounds like a fun little game to play in short bursts, though I may just wait until it goes on sale because I have yet to play the Satura DLC in Runbow. Definitely recommend that game if you have some friends to play with or you like going for 100% completion.

Re: 13AM Games Reveals More Information About Runbow

Hopefully 3DS owners could play with Wii U owners, if not then this would be one of the few times where I think local play would have been the better option. Ah well, a physical copy of the Wii U version is nice and I might pick that up as I haven't got around to buying the Story DLC yet.

Re: Gallery: Pokémon Sun and Moon Starter Evolutions, Demo Goodness, Poké Pelago and More

The Festival Plaza reminds me of the Join Avenue from Black 2 and White 2, but better which is nice because I enjoyed the facilities it had to offer from having online/local people set up shop.

Not too sure how I feel about Ash-Greninja at the moment since I haven't seen the anime lately, but I suppose my opinion might change once the games release. The post-game content is shaping up to be at least along the lines of Black 2 and White 2 for post-game content, if so I'm going to really enjoy Sun and Moon as I remember spending a bunch of time with White 2.

Re: Those Famicom Mini Pads Sure Are Small

Iggly

I could see the size being a problem for some people, but I doubt I would have troubles using it if I were to play on a Famicom Mini. Seems a bit silly to make the controllers stuck onto the console though considering it can't load cartridges like an actual Famicom due to its size.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Has No Set Formula for Hardware Reveals, But NX is Testing Fans' Patience

Iggly

Sometimes I feel like we're just repeating the same thing constantly with these Talking Points. Nintendo could take their time in the world if they wanted to, there's more than enough games on any platform to pre-occupy a person for years. I mean while I am interested in seeing what Nintendo has in store for the NX, all of this speculation and rumors is bugging me. Personally I would rather just play something to pass the time than constantly speculate about something that will probably just disappoint many people like usual.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not gonna bother clicking these NX Talking Points anymore because neither the articles or comments have kept my interest for the past weeks/months.

Re: Nintendo is Reportedly Taking 'Final Orders' on Wii U Consoles From Retailers

Iggly

Quite a shame the Wii U sold terribly, it has some titles I really enjoyed such as Bayonetta, Splatoon and Mario Kart. Digital-wise is where the Wii U shined the most compared to the Wii. It had much more interesting indie games like Guacamelee, Runbow and Fast Racing NEO. While the Virtual Console selection overall is smaller than the Wii, but it managed to bring over both Earthbound and Mother 1 while also bringing in more rare titles like Xenoblade and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Alas, the Wii U was doomed due to being under-powered, lack of third parties, bad marketing, many droughts and the console itself being very expensive compared to the more appealing competition. I'll always remember console as it has brought in a lot of fun times, here's hoping Nintendo does a better job with their next console if they don't want another failure like the Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Now Battles for Our Time, Not Just Loyalty

Iggly

Gaming in Canada has been getting expensive again over the past few years which has made me pretty hesitant on getting games at full price these days. Heck, over the past year the only games I've got at full price was Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate/Generations since those are games I really enjoy. While other games I got because they're games I like but generally have low stock like the Special Edition of Fates or Senran Kagura Deep Crimson. Every other games I got have been from sales on Steam, occasional Humble Bundles and even some free games that are given out occasionally.

Due to this I told myself I don't have plans on getting new games for awhile since they're getting a bit too expensive over here and I got more than enough games to keep me busy for the next year or two since time will start to be limited for me due to college. I hope Nintendo improves on their mistakes with the NX as they make the best replayable games, but I'm afraid Breath of the Wild will probably be my last current gen purchase from them. I'll still buy some of the games I've missed like Dream Team later of next year, however it's probably time I take a break from buying current gen games for now and just finish games I haven't finished yet.

Re: Review: Pixel Paint (3DS eShop)

Iggly

It would probably be more fitting to use this on a 3DS than the Wii U, but that isn't really enough to warrant a second purchase of this game. Maybe if the cut issue was fixed, you could manually pick a specific colour via code or a simple eyedropper tool was added into this version then I'd probably pick this up again since while it was very limited, it was fun doing pixel art.

Re: Talking Point: Splatoon May Be Winding Down, But Its Legacy Could Be Significant

Iggly

Considering how unique Splatoon was when it first launch, the lack of content at the beginning was a bit excusable. Though the sequel will need more content at launch, especially if there isn't any significant additions to the core gameplay/mechanics. If there's one thing they should remove for the sequel, it's the stage rotation. It isn't needed now that there's more maps and modes than the initial release, more customization would be nice like being able to choose what loadouts the weapons can have and etc.
