Zygarde was one of the great mysteries towards the end of the last generation, with new forms being introduced and no game to tie them together, but Pokémon Sun and Moon finally provide the first time that these forms are usable in a main game.

zygardebase.png

Getting these forms is a convoluted process where, once given the Zygarde Cube, you have to scour the entire Alola Region looking for cells. When you have enough, you can then combine the cells in the Aether Base in Route 16 in order to get a Zygarde. 10 Cells create a Zygarde 10% Forme while 50 Cells create a Zygarde 50% Forme.

When you start off doing this, the Zygarde you get have the Aura Break ability and can be dismantled completely at the base. If you trade away the Zygarde, you will lose these cells forever, but you can dismantle Zygarde obtained in trades to get more cells if necessary.

Sounds complicated, right? Well unfortunately it is and there is no way of tracking the location of all the cells in the game, but luckily we have a list here, and for precise images you can go to http://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/zygarde.shtml. Some Cells are exclusive to the daytime and others to the night, so you will need to look through areas multiple times; it is easy to miss just one.

There are also five cores you can find in the game. These cores are still just one cell each, but have a special feature of allowing for you to teach your Zygarde a special move. These moves can be taught through the Zygarde Cube item.

When you have managed to obtain all 100 cells, or just obtained 100 cells through dismantling Zygarde you obtained through trade or transfer, then you can combine all of them into a Zygarde with the Power Construct ability. This ability will turn Zygarde into the Complete Forme Zygarde when its health drops below 50%. This causes its stats to change including massive Hit Points, making it one of the more powerful Pokémon in the game. Power Construct Zygarde cannot be dismantled, but can change their form between 10% and 50% Forme using the Zygarde Cube item.

Let us know how you're getting on in the Zygarde quest in the comments below.
