Back in August, two Sega double packs for Nintendo Switch were spotted online. One included Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Mania, and the other featured Sonic Forces and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD.
Today, Sega of America made it official, and both packs are out now! Readers located in the US will be able to pick up each of these packs for $39.99 at all authorised retailers. It's not a bad deal at all if you haven't played any of these games before.
And yes, that’s two games on one cartridge per pack (there's no mention of DLC):

Based on Nintendo Life scores alone, the first pack comprised of Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Mania is the better one. We gave TSR seven out of ten stars and Sonic Mania a near-perfect score. Sonic Forces and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD didn't fare so well, with both games receiving six out of ten stars.
Do either - or perhaps both - of these double packs interest you? Tell us in the comments below.

Do these games come in one cartridge?
I think the pricing may be s little high, also are they physical or code on a box?
Wow, Sega actually had the balls to put out a double pack of the worst super monkey ball and sonic game in one. That’s impressive
I dunno, the double pack stuff just takes me back to the glory days of 2 for 1 in Morrisons. It looks... kinda tacky if I’m being honest? I prefer a collection approach like they did with Assassin’s Creed on Switch.
Pretty cheap for one of the worst sonic game ever, if you thinking of buying one of them do the sonic mania and sonic team racing bc your getting you bang for your buck, but if you like super monkey ball then go ahead.
@Multi @Zeeeus The PR we received didn't say if it was cartridge or code. I'm guessing they both include game cards.
Update: "2 games on 1 cart per pack" https://twitter.com/SEGA/status/1321225161773772802
@Liam_Doolan WAAAAAT if its not all on the card then i'm not biting.
Why not Sonic Mania Plus?
@Snatcher I can confirm that it is all on the card.
I got the Sonic Mania/TSR pack in today. Yes, they are both on cartridge. The games appear with their own icons on the home menu as well.
I'm a little surprised Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces were not on the same cart given Sonic Forces is something of a sequel to Mania in terms of the story.
Do these versions on the dual cart include all the DLC for the respective games?
I can just buy mania via the eShop
I might've wanted it if I could get "Sonic Mania" + "Sonic Forces." Oh, well.
woooo?? i guess......
Great value in these packages, esp the Mania one.
Release good Monkey Ball.
@Caryslan, sadly it’s the original Sonic Mania and not Plus. It shows the DLC on the menu but you have to buy that separately. I already played Sonic Mania Plus as well, though. Mostly got this for Team Sonic Racing. It’s pretty fun.
I don't actually own Sonic Mania as I had it when I have PS+ but never renewed it. So having a physical copy of that plus team Sonic Racing would be pretty nice on one cartdridge. Perhaps I'll order it once it dips a bit cheaper.
Would make more sense to me if Forces and Racing were switched. At least both games are actually on one cartridge; that seems to be a luxury these days.
Why isn't mania or sonic team racing the one with monkey ball? :<
I would surely have got them.
Sega needs to release a Valkyria Chronicles: Double Pack, a Yakuza: Double Pack, Shenmue: Double Pack, F-Zero: Double Pack (AX & GX), Sonic Adventure: Double Pack, and a Sakura Wars: Double Pack all for Switch and I would gladly buy all of em.
@SeantheDon29 You think Forces is the worst Sonic game? You must be new.
@BAN He/She said "for one of the worst sonic game ever". You must not be able to read.
Sonic Mania and Sonic Team Racing seems like a great deal, but two mixed quality games of their series does not (Even though I think Banana Blitz isn't a bad game, its just okay). Feel like what's bundled should be switched with each other..
Only Sonic Mania (the Plus version in particular) is actually good there. Sonic Forces is poor. Other two ok time-passes
Of all the Monkey Ball games, why Banana Blitz? Are they actually under some delusion that THAT'S the one people want to play? I would have bought a 1 & 2 pack in a heartbeat, but I guess that made too much sense to Sega.
I must be the only person who loves Sonic Forces. I thought the avatar levels in particular were incredibly fun, especially Arsenal Pyramid and Prison Hall and I absolutely loved the soundtrack. The story was very funny too, like a bad fan fiction. Made me laugh out loud many times.
I mean I can see objectively that Sonic Mania was the better made game but I got more enjoyment from Sonic Forces to my surprise. I've played through it several times. It's just a nice, easy game to zone out to without thinking too much and enjoy the atmosphere and arcade style gameplay. Similar reason I play Sayonara Wild Hearts.
@Ardisan Uhhhhhh. You’re joking, right? Do YOU know how to read? Here’s a direct quote from the comment in question: “Wow, Sega actually had the balls to put out a double pack of the worst super monkey ball and sonic game in one.“
Please tell me how that translates to what you claim it says.
@rjc-32
The only good question
@BAN Oh my.. My bad thats very ironic, I read the wrong user. Sorry.
Well I agree that Forces isn't the worst Sonic game, and I disagree with that Monkey Ball game being the worst.
@Multi Yeah. I am seeing that with a lot of double games. They claim that the price is right but it feels like I am getting it at full price. I thought a double pack was supposed to be a bit cheaper and thus considered a bargain or a good deal.
I kind of want to give Forces a go. If it gets cheap enough I might buy it.
Not really any money to be saved from buying these. If you use Argos, Facebook marketplace and eBay you can regularly find any of these titles for £15-20 each
I must admit I really enjoyed Sonic Forces, my son also loved it (he is 9), not a bad pick up for Christmas.
@Clyde_Radcliffe Wouldn't say I love Sonic Forces but it's still very enjoyable. For me it's the best story in a Sonic game yet and I still have some of the music in my head now and am already wanting to go back and replay it. The action sequences were really cool too.
Forces was just really short and the 3D levels were too much on rails, the paths were tight which didn't leave much freedom.
Even despite that I think it's a good game and I will be holding onto my copy. Did hear rumours about Sonic Forces 2 for next gen consoles so if that's true hopefully they'll improve on it.
@wazlon It's longer if you try to get all the red coins/s ranks and don't just boost through the levels.
I think the Forces 2 thing was a hoax (someone made a fake screengrab of a listing of it on Sega's website) but there's rumours of a Sonic Adventure remake or Sonic Adventure 3 which I'd very much be for! I'd also like to see Sega Ages versions of Sonic 3 and Sonic CD on the Switch... With CD letting you choose from Japanese or US soundtrack.
I will probably get the racing and maina bundle then the other one when it goes on sale.
Not sure if Sega is really brave or really stupid to charge $40 for Banana Blitz and Sonic Forces.
Probably the second one.
Who would choose the one with Sonic Forces???
That game is worse than 06 to me.
06 I have fun messing with the glitches but Forces was so painfully boring.
@Liam_Doolan thanks for confirming.
@MysteryCupofJoe I think Sega would have been better off bundling all four games together on one cart for £40 (space permitting of course). Or reduced the price to £20/24.99 per double pack.
The fun pack and the disappointment pack.
@Zeeeus two games on one cart, says it right in the article on the tweet from sega
I'm happy enough just having my physical sonic mania, even came with a little art book
Not tried sonic forces or team sonic racing but neither look particularly good especially compared to Sonic Generations and Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed
Imagine buying the worst Monkey Ball game and the worst Sonic game at the same time.
Dang already have Forces and Mania. I would have probably bitten at a Monkeyball/Racing combo.
@Multi I would definitely bought all of them in one pack. I tried getting Sonic Forces by itself but I couldn't. I love Sonic, but I can't buy a bad game when I can spend money on a good one. Step it up Sonic!
Why did they pick Team Sonic Racing over Sonic Racing Transformed? They're being stingy by not having the Plus version of Sonic Mania too.
@SeantheDon29 But... Super Monkey Ball 3D exists though.
