I have loved the Rally-X games ever since I got hooked on the Vic 20 re-skin "Radar Rat Race." Needless to say, this one is going into the collection!

@WiltonRoots Contact cleaner has worked great for me. Last time I also followed up the cleaning with a spritz of potentiometer lubricant. Haven't had a drifting issue since (that was over two years ago). About a year ago I bought a second set and preemptively gave them a spray of lube. Never had an issue with that set.

@kingbk I'm not entirely certain why, but I prefer the feel of the controls on Tetris 99. Something about Tetris Effect just doesn't feel as precise.

@empower As long as it's not just a code, there's no issue with buying used (assuming you still purchase/download it before servers are shut down). That said, Capcom loves their codes, so many of their games are worthless when purchased used.

@nickeddowes If you're okay with opening up your Joy Con, you can order replacement sr/lr contacts for about $6. Looks like a fairly easy job.

@Dualmask I loved most of what I played, but I also had to give up out of frustration. I just plain suck at some games, and this was one of them.

@electrolite77 I went to four separate big box stores where copies were over a week out (even Amazon says it's a month out from shipping). Then I found a copy at an independent game store near my work. So glad I found it! I'm really enjoying my time with it so far — even though I don't like accelerating with the "A" button...

I have to go with Platoon on the NES. Great music, good level variety, passable graphics, short and sweet. Made it to Barnes a number of times, but always ran out of time...

Gonna probably get the Rally-X theme since Namco refuses to put it on any of their recent compilations. I used to dump hours into Rat Race on the VIC20, which was just an unlicensed Rally-X clone.

I'm okay with the list for the most part, but does NL HAVE to make some back-handed comment for every game that's not in the top ten?!

Bought only five. A Short Hike was my favorite! Also a fan of Seven Sirens.

Just stopped by to say that I absolutely love this game. Part of me was originally sad with its length, but it still feels great to explore after you've found everything there is to do. It is so close to "perfect" for me that I'll just say it's perfect...

@electrolite77 I'm okay with them improving the worst one of the bunch (mainly due to controls). The other two are still perfectly playable, though I wouldn't say "no" to an hd bundle of those as well.

@Savino Excellent response! You've highlighted why the Wii is also one of my all -time favorites. Dead Space: Extraction was one of the best on the system.

This is great! Somewhat related-- my favorite moment in Bayonetta is the Space Harrier homage. It (SH) is the most "arcade" game in the world.

It's amazing to me to see so many people dumping on V:PD (especially those who have obviously never played it). It is in my classic gaming top 5, for sure!

I hope it's like Retro Game Challenge, where once you beat the story, you can access the complete games at any time. I just don't want it to feel like a compilation of game fragments.

With two video games based on "AVGN," I can't wait until there's finally a movie based on "Rental Reviews" (my favorite Cinemassacre show, at the moment).

I'm certainly down for a new action puzzler. I hope it's good.

@RevengeFan I was thinking the same thing, but it's a 'plus' in my book.

@RupeeClock I constantly had to cheese the rewind feature for just this reason. Jumps were always poorly timed; and, as you said, the whole game felt like it was using ice physics.

@Spoony_Tech I don't think there's anything to "fix." If you gave it SMBros jump mechanics, it wouldn't even be a game-- it would be far too easy. Still, I agree that the jump mechanics are a source of great annoyance!

As for Other M, if the only mark against it is crap story telling, then it sounds like a pretty excellent game! (I loved it...but I ignored most of Samus' daddy-issue-inflicted inner turmoil).

@DockEllisD For a brief moment, you got me really excited...until I realized that reality is a thing. Still, I had so much fun with the original SoD (though I've heard most prefer the second--never played it myself). As for OlliOlli, I've always wanted a 2d Tony Hawk!

Between this and the Spyro Trilogy article from earlier, it seems that "Here we go again" has become the new tagline of choice. It also works well to express life as a Nintendo fan.

@Axlroselm As a kid from the NES era, I can tell you that the seal meant nothing. It was just there to convince ignorant seven-year-olds (such as my 1988 self) that Bayou Billy was actually a playable game (it wasn't).

I hope they fix the screen size/dimensions; I hate cropping 16:9 to 4:3 (if they even allow that). I used to love the original Nomad, but it had issues with fast-paced games due to severe blurring.

I pretty much love anything Atooi/Renegade Kid has done. But I must say, Soccer Slammers is impossible for me to get my head around. Out of the five or so matches I've played of it, I've probably only scored 5 goals. So freakin' tough!

@Travisemo007 If I'm not mistaken, both art styles will be available in the Switch version.

@delt75 [#100] Looking at everyone's list in these comments, I feel like yours echoes mine 100% (though I must admit that I've never owned a Wii U or a Virtual Boy). Why do so many people love the N64 and GC so much? Some great games to be sure, but way overrated by Nintendo fans on the internet.
