Nothing for me this week.
In no world whatsoever should NSMBU cost anyone $60 in 2019. Nintendo really should have priced that game at $39.99, I don't care how many Switch owners "skipped" it on Wii U.
Mario U for me. I actually had no idea Bowser's Inside Story is out tomorrow.
OutRun, but I had it for a month already Still playing, too. Trying to go as far as I can without using the "gacha" exploit (before tuning to the dark side, that is).
A surprisingly busy week for Nintendo. Getting Tales, and maybe Inside Story down the line. I'll only get Mario Bros U once it's like 20 bucks or something, sooo, that'll happen in a couple of years lol.
NSMBU Deluxe is certainly overpriced, but it’s not as criminal as Tropical Freeze was. It cost $10 more on Switch than it did on Wii U at launch, five years ago. A port with next to no added content should not cost more than the original did. At least in the case of NSMBU you’re getting the Luigi U content and it doesn’t cost $70.
NSMBUD is already preordered and will likely be played tommorow
I never played Tales of Vesperia. Anybody think it's a worthwhile purchase on Switch?
The timeless JRPG Tales of Vesperia and the excellent New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe.
@DarthFoxMcCloud
Yes. It's one of the best JRPG from 7th gen. Widely regarded as best in the Tales series (alongside Abyss and Symphonia, which are good too).
It's now one of the best JRPG on Switch. Definite recommendation
Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition, but not right away. Whenever I make it to GameStop again though, I'll pick it up most likely.
Last night I was on the eshop and Vesperia was $19.99, with a sale of $14.99. Not sure why you guys have it listed at $49.99.
EDIT: My bad. I was mixing it up with Valkyria Chronicles.
Valkyria... Vesperia... Too confusing.
Nothing for me
Nothin for me this week. Playing through Phantasy Star.
Looking forward to playing New Super Mario U. Deluxe and M&L: Bowser's inside Story (mostly for the Jr. & Koopalings side story) this weekend.
There's probably some other fun ones but I gotta save my $$$ so I can pre-order the upcoming Amiibo from Gamestop.😅
Tales! Can't wait
So. Much. Shovelware.
I'll get warmed up with Out Run while I wait for Virtua Racing!!
I bought Splatoon 2 yesterday, so I'll try and hold off on buying new games for a while. If Tales is as good as people are saying, I'll get it after I finish YS VIII and after I buy The World Ends With You.
Nothing for me as usual, but I'll grab the Bowser's Inside Story remake at a later date. I missed it the first time around.
Resisting the urge to buy but lots for my wishlist! Going to see Perfume in April so all my money is going to that.
Nothing for me this month until RE2 comes out. I do miss Wii Bowling, so I MIGHT do Knock’em Down Bowling. Reviews pending...
OutRun FTW!!! (Almost). Stoked this legendary arcade racer is FINALLY playable on a Nintendo home console. All of the years and all of those clones (imma lookin at you Rad Racer!) and finally we can enjoy the real deal at home (and not via adapters!).
@thesilverbrick: I think NL's review stated there is some "new" content in the form of slightly remixed levels and with the characters, but we probably share a frustration that Nintendo hasn't released a truly new NSMB for the Switch. Loved it on the Wii U.
Looking forward to NSMBU and Tales of Vesperia. I also want to see what Combat Core is all about...I dig the idea of it, but a review would help.
NOA just told me I need to wait 20 minutes more for OutRun to be available for purchase via the NOA GameStore. It's been 30 years so I guess another 20 mins won't kill me, lol.
Personally I’m interested in Momodora, Bowsers Inside Story, and Onimusha.
Guys I’ve played Momodora on PS4 and it’s really freaking cool. If you’re on the fence, you like Metroid style games in the pixel art style, and like a bit of a setting like Hollow Knight, you should get it. I’m absolutely double dipping on that title since I really dont enjoy PS4 and playing games on it. I like the portability of Switch.
Bowser might actually make me pick my 3DS up again; something I’ve been wanting to do recently, and Onimusha I’ve never played so now is the best time!
Not downloading but am picking up NSMB and Tales of Vesperia.
I'm very intrigued by that bowling game, but it could be terrible, ha. This is definitely an example of a game I MUST see good reviews for before buying. If it plays well, I'm totally down.
If your not picking up Outrun, then your playing the Switch wrong.
I'll get Tales of Vesperia eventually, regardless of price, and I'll get NSMBU, during a sale or price drop. But, for now, I'm not picking anything up.
There's just no multiplayer games that stand out right now, and it would be silly to get a JRPG, like Tales of Vesperia, when I have a backlog of single-player games to beat. I'll get to it at some point though, as I've actually made good progress on my backlog since the start of winter. I might actually be done by next month. Lol
I fired up the Wii U this past weekend and played the Luigu expansion for New Super Mario Bros. U and quickly realized why I never finished it. I expect to see a lot of "my Switch broke" complaints on the internet in the next few days.
I'll probably get Out Run at some point.
Very tempted by Outrun, but I can play my excellent copy on the 3DS. If there's any sale on Switch going on in the future I (like there were before on Sonic & Lightning Force) I might double-dip after all.
Tales of Vesperia eventually. Busy with my backlog right now though!
@Fake-E-Lee that’s awesome! I’m glad you like it.... I’m surprised it’s not getting a bit more praise/limelight. Perhaps it’ll be the next sleeper hit?
I can’t wait to get home and play mine too!
I'll pick up Mario when it's on a major sale at some point. I got it (and the Luigi pack) with my Wii U years ago, and paying a full $60 again isn't going to sit well with me here. When it hits $20 I'll probably consider it.
The game's pretty decent, even if the set pieces are starting to wear thin from over-reuse.
Outrun's one I'm interested in, but I got that on 3DS and I doubt there's really anything new to justify picking it up when I can play it in 3D (even though the screen resolution isn't anywhere near as nice).
Eventually I think I will want to get the entire collection of NeoGeo games; I mean those were $200 a cartridge back in the day.
I want to know if that Snowboarding game is any good...
Can we get a port of Wii Bowling?
Oh yeah, Hive Jump. Almost got that back in the Wii U days. I think I was disappointed with reviews, but $10. Might have to research that a bit more. Huh. I'm seeing some love for this game out there, and the local multiplayer is a good fit. I might jump on it. (ahem)
(What happened to the cool lighting effects it used to have. Is that PC only?)
This should be a good list to BBRP (Buy/Backlog/Rent/Pass) on!
Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe — Pass, already have it for Wii U and have zero incentive to double dip buy, rent, or backlog. Nothing to see here for me, but if you never played it and like 2D Mario, definitely try to round up 3 friends for a silly good time.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition — Haven't played a Tales game in ages (Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World to be specific). GameFly has me covered, so this will be a rent.
Double Cross — I really wanted to like this, but with all I'm playing and its peers offering better experiences, it'll be a pass.
Everything — As a person that loves to ponder the Theory of Everything, philosophy, quantum theory, and astrophysics, this is up my alley in concept. The still shots don't do it any justice, but I see it's won several awards. Backlog for now as I do more research...
Hive Jump — Hello... A run and gun Metroid-looking (but not Metroidvania), multiplayer (2P couch, 4P online?) affair? ALL the way up my alley and it seems pretty fun. I remember hearing about this game in the past, but I coulda swore Hive Jump was something else lol. Well, no sense pondering, this will be a buy as soon as the loose change falls so me and my pal can run it.
Onimusha: Warlords — Never played the original (crazy right?), so this is squarely on my radar, old or not. I don't remember if it will get a physical release, but it will be backlogged for a physical release or a hard sale.
SEGA AGES Out Run — I'm was pondering this one, but I have it for 3DS, so I think I will leave it at that. Pass.
Stellar Interface — This is a pass for me, but I had to give this one a special mention because of the pun on SNES cartridges (StellarNetES Cartridges). I love nerding
Tetraminos — Uh...? So, Tetris, but Tetris without the licensed name? Skeptical. Pass unless something changes my mind.
Oh, and momodora, too...
Outrun is a no brainer!! One of my favorite racers of all time!! Keep em coming Sega!!
Bowser's Inside Story H.Y.P.E

@MushHill_Act1-1@Lizuka I can respect if u disagree tho
The only Onimusha I have played is just a part of the GBA tactical RPG spinoff.
I have heard the whole series is very ridiculous in its story.
I'm getting that bowling game. Not this week, but at some point!
Here's what I'm thinking:
NSMBUD: I will get this game eventually. I already have it on Wii U, and honestly, it's not one of my favorite Mario games, but I want to give it another chance and see if my wife will play it with me. It also seems like a good game to play on the go. If it goes on sale, I'll probably pounce.
Everything: This game looks wild! I wasn't originally planning to get it, but after seeing more of it, I think I'm sold. I expect reviews will vary drastically for this game, but overall it did well on other platforms, so as long as the Switch version checks out, I'm probably in.
Momodora: I never heard of this game before, but I was really drawn in by the first screenshots I saw. After a little research, I discovered that this game was very highly rated on other platforms. As long as there are no issues with the Switch version, I'm gonna add it to my list, but I'll probably wait until I finish with a few other games before I pick it up.
Onimusha: I had no idea this game existed back in the day, but I love Resident Evil and I love the setting of this game, so I'm likely in on this one. Again, I'll probably wait until I clear out a bit of backlog before I get it though.
Picking up physical copies of NSMBU and Tales of Vesperia tonight!
Already pre-ordered NSMBU, Tales of Vesperia, and Mario & Luigi; heading out to pick all 3 up tomorrow. Might be one less title I'll ever play on my old, dusty Wii U in the future, but hey, having NSMBU on Switch means putting off hooking that stupid sensor bar up awhile longer, at least until I get the urge to replay Wonderful 101 anyway.
I got Onimusha warlords a month ago. Now just waiting for it to download
How did so many people vote for a Wii U port?
@Heavyarms55 @IceClimbers @Regpuppy @Alucard83 @EmmatheBest @JaxonH I've never played a Tales game, but seeing how many people voted for Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition I'm thinking I need to check it out. I don't love all JRPGS but I do love some of them. I love all 3 Xenoblade games, and I really liked Ys VIII, strong stories really suck me in hard, but I also struggle with turn based combat (I couldn't get into Bravely Default or Octopath Traveler at all for example)
@Painkiller_Mike what do you mean "my Switch broke"? I LOVED Super Luigi U
I only purchased New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe because I want to get all the games I missed on WiiU
@leo13 Good for you but it wasn't for me. Just like the some enjoy the difficulty of The Lost Levels (the Japanese Super Mario 2) and some prefer the American version.
@Painkiller_Mike oh I see. I didn't realize you were referring to the difficult. I thought there was some game breaking bug.
Just finished Momodora. One negative was that boss battles were:
Option A.) “git gud”
Option B.) Cross your fingers and cheese it
No inbetween. I have never cared for the entire concept of bosses in games, anyway, so that didn’t bother me much.
That aside, I enjoyed it and I think it’s very good for what it is.
