One of the best Switch games we've seen this year is Monolith Soft's Xenoblade Chronicles 3. We said it was an epic, emotionally-charged masterpiece in our Nintendo Life review, awarding it an "outstanding" score.
Of course, it wouldn't be as great as it was without the efforts of the talented voice actors. In fact, the voice of Noah - Harry McEntire, recently thanked fans on the social media platform Twitter for their "outpouring of love" for Xenoblade Chronciles 3, mentioning how thrilled he was:
"Just want to say that returning to twitter and to an overwhelming outpouring of love for #XenobladeChronicles3 is really quite extraordinary. I'm utterly thrilled x" - Harry McEntire
He even shared one of these kind messages on his socials (shoutout to Washington Post games reporter Gene Park):
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has had a promising start - with the game becoming an immediate top seller on the Switch eShop, and also experiencing a strong physical release across multiple regions. It broke some records, too - becoming the UK's biggest physical launch for the series.

I really loved his performance! He did a fantastic job! Honestly, I feel like I could listen to the entire main cast talk all day 😂
He deserves it! His work with this game is fantastic. Especially those scenes in Chapters 5 and 6. Straight chills.
I can’t believe I’m 80 hours in and I’m still in chapter 5 ….
Shulk also had amazing voice acting. I’ll wait to judge until I finish the game but the overall voice acting team is better than the English XC2 team by a mile.
Truly fantastic work. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say he showed some amazing versatility in the role. XC3 definitely features my favorite voice acting in the entire series.
Already bought xenoblade 3 a couple of weeks ago, can't wait to play it after I finished metroid dread, it seems everytime I stuck at some place, the reason always "a hidden block need to be shoot at" 😅
The entire voice cast did an amazing job.
Probably the best I've ever heard from a JRPG.
He did an excellent job, quite enjoyed the game.
And we thank you too Harry. Keep on the mark.
Just finished it today completing the available side content and now working on the post game content. Absolutely one of the best RPGs out there.
The English voice cast did a great job, especially the main cast. Mio is Ranni the Witch from Elden Ring and this role lets her have way more range than just vaguely menacing.
Feel a lot of criticism about the voice cast are from people that to me seem to have only played the early chapters when the characters are actually really clueless (story reasons). Chapter 4 onward with highlights of Chapter 5 and Chapter 7 I think put them up there with the best.
He did an outstanding job, and gave it everything from the first line. Wouldn't change a single word of his voice acting. Here's hoping he can experience the game for himself!
Though I really didn’t like his and Mio’s delivery on… a lot of lines, honestly, I think it’s more of a case of good voice acting for characters I just don’t like. Might be more the script being a bit iffy at times, I’m not sure. Though, for Noah especially there are some high peaks where Harry’s talent as a voice actor really shines through. I listened to the japanese voices, and though Mio’s just had way more power in her voice in the right moments, I found Noah was pretty much identical in quality. That’s no small feat. The rest of the main cast I didn’t bother to compare because their english voice actors blew it out of the park. Eunie, Lanz and Taion were my favourites.
It's a really weirdly inconsistent dub I think. The leads pretty much all do a great job, him included, but a lot of the side characters are extremely monotone. In particular the actors for Isurd and Alexandria seem to be flat out incapable of emoting.
Excellent voice work, excellent game. He should continue voicing Noah in the next Super Smash Bros. game too.
The guy is probably my favorite voice actor in this series. Adam Howden has a really good scream, and is iconic, but I feel like Noah sounds so much better in regular conversation scenes.
@YoshiF2 I personally thought the English voice acting in XC2 was really excellent as well. Absolutely love that game for the story and voice acting.
Hear that Noah? Xenoblade fans like voices a bit meatier
@Takoda completely agree with this, luckily it did not ruin the experience for me one bit. Taion and Eunie are my favorite voice wise, but maybe also because I enjoyed the characters the most. Now plowing through end game stuff and trying to beat all big monsters...it does not lose steam after you beat the main story luckily!
A person gets an outpouring of love for talking, maybe I should talk to my wife more.
@a1904 those lines are forever carved into my mind.
First we got Adam Howden's now iconic Shulk whom is definitely up there at the top spot of all English language dubs.
And now Harry McEntire now rivals this with his excellent Noah performance.
I really would hope Square-Enix would start putting some effort into their own English dubs, because games like Triangle Strategy would have benefited tremendously from a better dub seeing at it sadly only sounded like bottom of the barrel Z list California actors. (Serenoa's voice over was horrendous).
I feel like I'm in an alternate dimension where everything is backwards. Noah in particular is the worst vo performance I can remember in any game I've played over 40 years. It really seems like a global pandemic caused the voice director to just hand out scripts and take whatever performance they could get.
Just finished up my 100% playthrough at 188 hours.
Lanz keeps saying he wants something a bit meatier, but this was the meatiest Xenoblade to date!
@completo88 Harry McEntire was fantastic but I think Adam Howden had more weight and gravitas to his performance which makes every line so enjoyable to listen to
@Giaccometti The absolute worst performance you've heard in 40 years? You really are living in a different dimension man xD
He did a great job. Heck, the entire main cast did. Such a great cast of characters too btw, probably my favorite cast of characters in any RPG.
The voice direction in this game is incredible.
Somehow there's not a single voice I find grating or unfitting.
It's leaps and bounds from XC2's voice direction.
Noah's voice is great, and Harry's range is exquisite too. To the point where I needed the two characters he plays in the same room for me to realise he's playing the both of them.
I sincerely hope all of XC's future games have voice acting and direction of this quality.
Harry killed the voice acting. And the rest of the cast too! There's so much emotion in the voices and screams.
I know people dump on 2's voice acting but the voice direction really messed up the process. It's greatly improved by the Torna DLC and of course 3.
Love XBC3’s voice acting, especially as the game progressed. I really loved the story of the game. It’s certainly one of, if not my favorite storyline, in a game all year. I didn’t enjoy the gameplay as much as I enjoyed the story, but the characters were all fantastic, fully realized, and we’ll casted, particularly Noah. “Sparks alive” has certainly entered my vocabulary as well.
Such an amazing game and the voice acting is top notch, from the complete cast. And I love the art style, so much so that I'm constantly taking pictures and screenshots when I play this game!
@Lizuka Speaking of Isurd, he does the same animated hand gesture all the time as well. It drove me crazy. Either the devs forgot about him or he is really supposed to be more mellow or monotone. He never really get out right emotional even in his dialogue. He is a fairly quiet spoken and reserved character.
As for Alexandria… well she HAS to keep her composure all the time based on the story.
well....for me thanks to japanese voice actor
70+ hours and counting, Chapter 5 (about to storm the prison after some quest cleanup, and I haven't become annoyed by any of the VAs I've come across. The main cast especially all are amazing performances so far.
Next time I go to McDonalds I'll try to order a "McEntire" xD
....or maybe I'll just stick with my McBurn..
Went to settings and changed the voice acting to Japanese. I'm British and couldn't spend more than 20 minutes listening to their accents.
@Matl ok. 39 years. Dragon's Lair came out in 1983, so, I have been caught in a rounding error
@DTfeartheBEARD Same here. I've taken so many of the Mechonis' Sword and Bionis' Head in the great sea. The world of Aionios is absolutely beautiful.
I actually like the voice-acting of all characters but Taion at the hospital scene is gold! I'm being vague here on purpuse.
@Scootybby
Why the quality is excellent i prefer it much more compared to the avarage mediocre North American dub.
