Aionios has been a bit quiet lately, hasn't it? Unless you're still ploughing through this monolithic RPG, of course. But we're just days away from Wave 2 of Xenoblade Chronicle 3's DLC landing, and the official Japanese Twitter account has today woken up with a little update, and the reveal of the brand new character.
If you played through Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and its DLC, you might recognise this little fellow — the Nopon Archsage. He was in charge of the Challenge Battles, and here, he's reprising his role in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. How can a cute little guy like this be looking after one of the game's most-difficult elements?
We can get behind more deep-voiced Nopon like Riku, though. So we're glad to see the Archsage return for the third game. He did also make an appearance in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and allowed players to take part in Time Attack mode. Nopons are obviously the real gods of the Xenoblade-verse, then.
Wave 2 is out on 13th October, and as well as challenge mode, we'll have access to a brand new Hero character in the form of Ino, the "Noponic Champion". Seems like there are a lot of Nopon in Wave 2.
Will you be jumping into Challenge Battles in Xenoblade Chronicles 3? Tell us down below!

Well I do love Xenoblade. But I'm waiting until I beat the game, or a possible physical release, before getting the DLC. I love having Torna physically.
They remind me of the Little Birdie's from Metroid.

I too am also waiting until the DLC is "finished" before I think about getting anything from it. I have the physical Torna and I think it works well as a separate release. Hopefully if they do the same thing with Xeno 3, it will also release separately in the same way.
I had a fun 120 hours in Xeno3, but as much as I'd like to go back in for even more content, I'll likely wait until the end of next year to revisit.
I'll likely buy the DLC as well, but I want to see what else they throw our way in the meantime.
Nopon are cool. The Nopon village in Xenoblade 1 is one of my favourite places in the series.
Maybe the European Collector's Edition will include all the DLC by the time they let us order it.
@Fizza at least Nopon don't grow up the same way...
@Enigk hopefully the American version gets something like that too…
I was planning on buying the Expansion Pass soon anyway and it looks like a worthwhile choice. Next I want a soft cuddly plushie of this guy because he's so damn cute.
It's too much for me to finish this game in one go. I got to Chapter 5 and have done a lot of side quests. I do plan to go back and finish where I left off, but I'll wait at least a while (not years, maybe even just another month or two) before going back.
I like Nopon's a lot. And both Riku and Manana a lot.
This DLC sounds good.
I'm waiting until most of the DLC releases before biting. As much as I loved my 130+ hours in Aionios - postgame not included - I eventually need to play other games. XD
Ancient evil returns.
The game was so perfect from start to finish, I really don't get all this dlc stuff. Does it really add anything meaningful to the game? It's just content for the sake of content. I'm gonna be skipping all priced dlc at least.
If it’s anything like how it was in XB2 then expect some XB1, XB2, and X throwback fights
@Cia It gives people playing NG+ something to look forward to, for one thing. Plus, 2's DLC ended with Torna, which, besides being the only well-written part of 2's story, was also large enough to be considered its own game. I would prefer they just wait and release it all at once, though.
Already beaten and loved all non-DLC content that XC3 had to offer. Waiting out for all the DLC to come out before picking up and playing it again.
Looking at these comments, apparently I'm the only one, but I'm definitely excited for more content. Bought the DLC day 1 just based on the strength of the the DLC in Xenoblade 2, and will play all the DLC as soon as it's out.
@Syton It's not that the rest of us aren't excited, but Xenoblade is the kind of series that you really want to immerse yourself into, which is hard to do when they drip feed you a few hours of content after you've already finished everything else. If I wasn't dead set on getting the most I can out of the DLC, I probably would just play it as it came out.
I haven’t played Xenoblade 2 yet, and I’m concerned the dlc wave 4 will be connected to it, so I’ll wait till I play 2.
Jesus cries! I was about ready to complain again! I thought this was a Pokemon 😂.
Still not done with the campaign plus I was planning on taking a break.
