We normally start out our day with a lovely big bowl of SEGA's Gold Rings, but if you'd like to win a Switch then you might want to try out a bowl of Honey Bunches.
Nintendo has teamed up with Post Cereals to slap Mario's face on the box and give lucky customers a chance to win a Switch.
PR as follows:
Breakfast has always been the most important meal of the day. Now it’s a great meal for anyone who wants a chance to win a Nintendo Switch video game system. This fall, fans can enter codes found in specially marked packages of Post cereals for a chance to win one of 500 Nintendo Switch Prize Packs, consisting of a Nintendo Switch system and the Super Mario Odyssey game.
“Post Cereals evoke feelings of fun and nostalgia for people of all ages, and those are emotions Nintendo can identify with,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Nintendo Switch and Super Mario Odyssey are must-haves for the holidays, and this promotion gives people 500 chances to win them.”
Codes can be found across 20 million Post Consumer Brand cereal boxes, including Honey Bunches of Oats, Grape Nuts, Honeycomb, Golden Crisp and Alpha-Bits, as well as in Malt-O-Meal cereals such as Honey Graham Toasters, Coco Roos and Marshmallow Mateys.
“Post Consumer Brands continues to prioritize and invest in family and millennial consumers to drive growth across our portfolio of cereal brands,” said Post Consumer Brands CMO, Roxanne Bernstein. “Partnering with a highly recognized and family-friendly brand like Nintendo allows us to deliver a special experience to consumers.”
In addition to a sweepstakes entry for the chance to win one of the Nintendo Switch Prize Packs, each code can be redeemed for a reward.* Codes redeemed on Post Consumer Brand cereal boxes will grant entrants My Nintendo Platinum Points (while supplies last), which can be redeemed for select downloadable rewards through the My Nintendo rewards program. The Malt-O-Meal codes will reward entrants with a special downloadable wallpaper. A Nintendo Account is required to receive and redeem My Nintendo Platinum Points.
For official rules and more information about the promotion, visit http://postconsumerbrands.com/nintendo.** For more information about Nintendo Switch, visit http://www.nintendo.com/switch. For more information about Super Mario Odyssey, visit http://supermario.com.
Remember that Nintendo Switch features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about other features, visit http://www.nintendo.com/switch/.
*Each Code from a boxed participating product is unique and may only be used once during the Promotion Period. Each Code from a MOM bagged participating product is common and may be used one time per day. Regardless of how many Codes are obtained by an Entrant or the method used to acquire the Codes, there is a limit of three Code entries per Entrant per day during the Promotion Period.

Well that's nice!
Post's current logo is sort of crummy though.
Those things are gross though.
If you live in America it's great. What competition are Nintendo hosting for the residents of Ireland?
Never heard of any of those brands.
I'm off to the grocery store to buy $1,000 worth of cereal in the hopes of winning a $300 Switch.
So, the code is inside or outside the box ?
Might grab a box of Honeycomb......haven't had those in a while. Grape Nuts are horrid wretched creatures.
They just had to choose the grossest cereal of all time!
Grape Nuts are so bad there could be a 100% win rate for the Switch and I'd still be on the fence.
Good - more Grape Nuts for me. Been eating them on and off for over 30 years.
Time to buy some more cereal.
Gape nuts are good with coconut yogurt. You can even add them to smoothies instead of old-fashion oats to thicken them.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE None at all, not even NL does it for us.
The only competition that Nintendo allowed us to enter (from what I remember) was for those Mario, Peach and toad 3ds ones (Won one but still have no idea how my post man was able to get it to me as they Nintendo messed up my address to send it to me XD).
Still makes me said that people love Ireland but won't let us enter in for competitions.
"Honey Bunches of Oats" is the only one that's really good. lol. POST is pretty garbage over all. lol
My Nintendo Platinum Points, woo-hoo!!
Bowser really struggled to make a link between Nintendo and cereal, there... fun and nostalgic? "Oh man, that cereal this morning! I haven't had so much fun in ages! Made me miss the good old days, though..."
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Are you suggesting Nintendo should organize breakfast cereal promotions in every country that stocks Nintendo products?
It doesn't make any sense to target tiny countries like Ireland. It represents a miniscule fraction of their potential customers.
Although I would love to go shopping someday and see Mario themed Flahavan's porridge...
@rjejr Sarcasm detected! 😉
Grape Nuts have been a favorite since I was a kid. I don't know how that got in there as a favorite among all the other sugar-blasted options that were advertised like crazy to american kids, but I love it to this day. Really better than most of that other junk anyway... though Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the oddest satisfying concoction...
@gcunit Preach it.
They should make Sonic Gold Rings cereal. Why didn't anyone think of that before?! They could pack it full of B vitamins, and the slogan can be "Sonic Gold Rings Cereal: a breakfast that gives you the energy to hit the ground running!" It's ironic, that when I worked for Kraft in marketing, they owned Post cereal brands. I'd certainly have pitched this idea to them if I'd have thought of it!
On the same note, bizarrely enough, there's a promo code for NBA 2K18 on Reese's Puffs for Virtual Currency that I assume will work on Switch. Why/how do I know this? Because I'm clearly a responsible adult.
@SilentHunter382 If it's any consolation, I don't love Ireland.
Tried Grape Nuts once.
Tasted neither of grapes, nor nuts. Birds didn't want to eat it either.
3/10
@MartyFlanMJFan Platinum points should come w/ an hour glass, all they are is sand that goes in the top and comes out the bottom. I'm pretty sure I lost more yesterday than I've spent. And I can say that for every month since it started.
No one likes Grape Nuts? I have been eating these since I was a child. They are really good for you. Did you know that Grape-Nuts have had a reputation as a health food for over a century. The food became a staple of expedition groups and military units thanks to its compact nature and resistance to spoilage. During World War II, Grape-Nuts were included in the Jungle Ration used by many U.S. soldiers. Edmund Hillary ate Grape-Nuts for energy during his historic trek to the top of Mount Everest in 1953.
@CheezIt 3 months ago on NL, you're welcome

@gcunit Well you didn't say you hated Ireland either.
Where's my Oreo Os cereal!?
@MrGamerClock64 I know I'm rambling about the health benefits of grape nuts, but Grape-Nuts contain just four ingredients—whole grain wheat flour, malted barley flour, salt and dried yeast. Compared to many other popular cereals, this ingredient list is a breath of fresh air. Everything is recognizable. A cereal like Oreo O's, on the other hand, includes over 20 ingredients in the recipe (many of which are unrecognizable, such as titanium dioxide).
take away the grapes and weve got a deal
Let the cereal frenzy begin.
Grape nuts are great, but you need to follow these serving suggestions.
Pour Grapenuts in a bowl, add a couple of teaspoons of sugar then pour on lots of milk so the grapenuts are submerged. Leave them for about 10 minutes and come back to see the grapenuts have absorbed most of the milk (maybe pour in a little more milk to taste). Add another spoon of sugar on top and enjoy the soft sugary sex nuts.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE None, of course. It's NOE where talking about after all, the same people that completly ignored their fans in Scandinavia and other parts of their territories which relies on third-party distributors they themselves practically owned for 30 years in regards to even things such as Club Nintendo.
Looks like a missed opportunity for a new Nintendo Cereal System. Though now I could go for some Grape-Nuts or Super Golden Crisp...
Golden Crisps.... mmmm now those I could go for.
Does this mean Mario and Fred Flintstone will finally be together officially? Grand.
Honey comb is pretty great so count me in.
Grape Nuts are fermented rabbit feces.
@John_Mcclane of course they have Switch system to give away. Do you really believe it's out of stock? It's just marketing. When you think it's rare you have to get it a.s.a.p. in half year all on stock in shops. Wake up time
Anybody who is bashing grape nuts is probably not health conscious. It is ok. It is just cereal. I would suggest looking at the back of labels and checking out the ingredients. If you do not know what they are, chances are it is bad. I am not here to fat shame or to tell you that you are unhealthy. I am just trying to make you more aware of what you put in your mouths. You do not want to get diabetes or something. That would make you a life long recipient to the pharmaceutical industry and you would have to take drugs for life.
Wasn't allowed trashy cereal as a kid, so Grape Nuts was like a surprise bowl of sugar compared to my mom's homemade granola cereal. I still think they're great.
@MarioPhD - I checked out both Indie Game docs. Enjoyed them both a great deal. You're right, the music was great. It was so ambient, I almost didn't hear it at first. I knew about most of the games, but I didn't know much or anything about the developers. Edmund and Tommy of Team Meat were a revelation. Loved both of them in the doc. I see why you brought the docs up in relation to what we were discussing a few weeks ago. No opinion on Phil Fish though, as he was clearly playing a cartoon charicture of himself. Thanks for the recommendation!
