Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

G-64

I'm glad about this. The wait will be even sweeter. Hopefully they add motion controls. It would be awesome if they go the extra mile and give players the option of choosing between traditional analog stick controls and motion controls a-la Skyward Sword (yet even better and more polished).

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Ten Must-Play Games On Nintendo 3DS

G-64

Ultimately, I can't recommend somebody a game that I happen to personally like, as it comes down to personal preference and taste. I can't encourage myself to tell somebody to get New Super Mario Bros. 2 if they don't enjoy platformer / jump 'n' run game, even though I love that game. Same goes for any other type of game; Smash Bros. being a fighting game, Mario Kart a racer...etc..
If a buyer is looking for a certain kind of game, i.e. an action-adventure for example, then I'd know right off the bat what to recommend first... Zelda, of course

Re: Zelda Lookalike Oceanhorn: Monster Of Uncharted Seas Could Be Sailing To Consoles

G-64

Nah, no thanks. Not really feeling it, despite being a huge action-adventure fan. Apart from being unoriginal, it looks kind of... awkward and stiff, I guess? Could still be somewhat fun though, but nevertheless, I can wait for my true Zelda experience. Besides, I don't mind the "compass pointer", and those "glorified tutorials" take nothing away from the games imo, rather only make 'em last longer, which is great and no handholding we shall get - just wait for Zelda Wii U.

Re: Poll: Where Do You Stand On DeNA, Smart Device Games, Nintendo 'Membership' And The Nintendo NX?

G-64

Yo, in all honesty, I'm not a Nintendo fan because of Nintendo. I'm a Nintendo fan because of the franchises they own and publish i.e. Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong...etc.. So I couldn't care much about what they do next or what they do in the near future, what they're planning and in which direction they're going, as long as I get my beloved games
If a certain business move means more Mario and Zelda games for me (albeit without a quality drop), then power to them.

Re: The Happy Mask Salesman is Teased for a Reappearance in a New Zelda Game

G-64

I'm guessing a brand new game featuring [new transformation] masks will be out in the near future, as in the launch of the next handheld, quite fittingly imo.. Although, I'm kinda wishing we'd get a HD home console Zelda game that has the masks. I really want some more gameplay and background on Fierce Deity, which I've always found to be as one of those more mysterious and intruiging (not to mention bad ass) elements in the franchise that left me longing for more.
In the end, this could simply mean that the Happy Mask Salesman will make an appearance and play a relatively important role in Zelda U. Perhaps there'll be a section of the game that focuses on a certain transformation. I wouldn't mind that, as long as they balance it well and make it suitable to the general plot and setting and what not.

Re: Feature: Five Nintendo 64 Games We'd Love to Play on 3DS

G-64

I think SM64 should remade for every upcoming portable That game is the only game that truly deserves a re-release from now until forever. I see it as a benchmark in video gaming. Everyone can play it and enjoy it; from kids to adults, casual vs. hardcore, amateur or pro, west or east... doesn't matter, it's such a perfect game in many ways, with its tight controls, high accessibility, simplistic concept, design and mechanics, yet fleshed-out and relatively meaty package.
It is definitely more than worthy of being released again on a more ideal piece of hardware at the very least, and I don't think Nintendo can go wrong in porting it over to a system where it "belongs" (no offense to the DS), shall we say. Natrually, the DS version with all the extras should be the candidate for that matter.

Re: Nintendo Looking To Offer Affordable Smartphone-Style Games And Remakes Of Past Classics On 3DS

G-64

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it'll benefit them much. I think people who play games on smartphones play them mainly because they're there. They have a smartphone, they're in the bus (or any waiting activity) and their smartphone gives them the chance to kill some of that boring waiting time. I personally can't see those same kinds of people going extra out of their way and getting a 3DS (which is probably pretty pricey in their minds, considering it only plays video games, unlike your typical smartphone) just for the fact that it can play smartphone-type games.

Re: Developers Outline Their Ideas for Nintendo's Next Generation Handheld

G-64

@Mus1cLov3r I guess I meant circle pads basically the thing we have on the 3DS now, whatever the specific term may be. It would be nice having two of those, placed symmetrically on the same axis if possible, and not some extra little nub that the New 3DS has (which is fine, but a normal one like the one on the left would be better imo).

Re: Developers Outline Their Ideas for Nintendo's Next Generation Handheld

G-64

@JakeOfAllTrades Naw man, it'll be fine considering technology cheapens as it advances. Just look at TVs for example, and how the prices changed over time, especially in the past decade or so; full HD, ultra HD...4K... I think by the time the next handheld system from Nintendo rolls out, the prices will be reasonable for it to be in HD. It's just a natural progression imo, just how the Wii U did it. The Wii was the only system not in HD during its gen, and now where HD became a standard in nearly all homes they bring out a HD console, which has a pretty attractive price tbh (the GamePad is what gives it that noticeable extra bit of weight on the price tag, I would say).

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

G-64

Wow, so many comments
Anyhoo, people say it's "free advertisement" and that "Nintendo is being stupid" or primitive. I think it actually harms them more than it does profit, since viewers can simply just watch a game being played through without having to buy it and play it themselves. Trust, there are people like that, unfortunately. So I say, good for Nintendo, don't always do the things that everybody else does, be different. They think long-term, which is why they always survive. Who knows, this whole youtube-gaming thing might just be a fad that will die out quicker than we think. I mean, it already has become somewhat oversaturated and is steadily losing value and becoming uninteresting. Everybody wants to be a "youtuber", trying to earn a quick buck through cheap (and arguably lazy) ways *cough playing games. I respect the educational side of YouTube though, and the content creators that put a lot - and at times - an unimagineable amount of effort in providing entertainment (you know, not just buying the one-time equipment and sitting in a dark room playing video games, in a mediocre manner at that). Just goes to show how society's standards and priorities have become all messed up in the recent years. Media dictates what we should consume and what we should like. When young, liable, naive children see that subscriber number on certain youtubers, they subconsciously feel obliged to subscribe to them as well and pretend to enjoy their content in some cases. Peer pressure, I guess. The fear of not belonging to the masses, not being accepted and what not. The cool kids like this and talk about this, so should I.
In the end, I don't wanna be that person, but sittin' in front of a screen with a mic in front playing video games and shouting (keep in mind, without providing some sort of valuable information)... hmmm. Is it entertainment? Sure. Is it valuable entertainment? Not the least bit, I don't think.
All in all, I personally couldn't care less just as long as Nintendo keeps doing its thang and providing me with my fav games. It seems to me that YouTubers are just bitter about this whole Nintendo situation and that they don't feel that total freedom that they would maybe like to have or have expected with YouTube, so their main reasoning and justification ends up being, "oh, Nintendo doesn't want our money...they're behind the times"
Oh, and such advertisement can be negative, with youtubers who have great influence (especially on young, liable children) talking badly - and usually unjustified and biasedly - about the games the play, which would then put off a lot of the viewers, have them jump on a bandwagon of subjective and unreasonable hate. We all want to be cool, right? Follow that popular opinion ...Mario is for kiddies, say the kiddies

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals We Want in 2015's First Nintendo Direct

G-64

I'm mostly hoping for one or two big surprises, like a new, never-before-announced game. Of course, some progress on the Virtual Console would be nice too. Most likely won't happen, but I think it's definitely time to add that N64 and GC service. I wouldn't mind some information on that. Please, just something

Re: Gallery: Imagining What Banjo-Kazooie Might Look Like in HD

G-64

haha looks cozy. I would just add some more shading along the edges of that rug / floor to make it seem more grounded. It kinda appears a bit 'floaty' in some pictures.

Really wish someone would reboot this series, along with Conker and 3D Donkey Kong. At the very least, any game that covers this type of genre i.e. collecting, exploring... adventuring, basically.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Starting Grid T-Shirt Accelerates Onto Club Nintendo

G-64

It kinda looks bland. Maybe a different colour would make it stand out more, like clear white or something. I dunno what it is, maybe it's the picture quality or the model though wide hips, narrow chest ..doesn't present the shirt very well imo, so I'm on a dilemma about liking it and not wanting it :/

Re: Koji Kondo Outlines the Importance of Music in Mario Maker

G-64

It would be high on my list if nothing else was really coming out, but money-wise, I gotta put it lower (I mean, I gotta prioritize Zelda, Star Fox and Yoshi). Plus it seems like quite a time-consuming game. I'm a really creative person and love to do things like this - create stuff, but unfortunately I'm not in the situation where I can afford to spend a lot of time at the moment. Shame really, this would have been perfect for a younger self. Man, why couldn't I have the chance to experience this as a kid

Hopefully we'll see a portable Mario Maker that covers the handheld 2D Mario games, from Super Mario Land to New Super Mario Bros. 2, sometime in the future
