Re: Grezzo Seeks New Employees Asking If They Want to Create a 'Legend'

G-64

I hope it's not Majora's Mask 3D, as that remake should be well and ready to go by now. Just them waiting to give a release date. I hope this means, however, that Nintendo are further expanding their LoZ development teams, and that Grezzo will officially be part of creating a brand new Zelda game, one for a handheld system, I can imagine.

Re: Feature: Our Hopes and Dreams for E3 2014

G-64

More Mario stuff, Zelda stuff, and Yoshi stuff...Majora's Mask remake I guess (it's bound to happen anyway ), as well as Luigi's Mansion for Wii U. A 3D Donkey Kong game in the works would be nice, with massive environments to explore, plenty of objects and items to collect, and wacky characters to chose from again - co-op would't hurt a 3D DK game. Definitely Star Fox for Wii U. Oh, and can't forget Wario. Announce a Wario Land game in the works, and right after the show release a fully-coloured port / remake of Virtual Boy's Wario Land for 3DS. Make a new Wario Land game, perhaps one with Waluigi in it too somehow, uniquely integrated into the gameplay and mechanics and what not. Be creative

Re: Rumour: Mario Kart 8 DLC to Feature Expanded Roster and New Battle Modes

G-64

Hmmm...Plessie? Why? I can't see Plessie fitting in a kart properly. this seems real, and I hope it is for battle mode sake at the very least, but Plessie makes me doubt this. Meh. I just want some more tracks to be added. Characters I don't really care for so much, as long as we got our classic 8-9 in there...and I guess Diddy Kong too

Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U Can Wear Many Masks

G-64

Bring back the masks again. Expand upon that concept. Bring back a lot of different mechanics, even something like Wolf Link. And this...I've always said this before...Loftwing, Epona, and King of Red Lions. Meaning not just limiting transportation to land, sea, or sky, but utilize all three.
Above all, we need some background on Fierce Deity's mask. Fierce Deity's mask needs some spotlight. It was so cool and bad-ass, and I would love to play as a really uber bad-ass, powerful Fierce Deity Link again. But make it so that it's required and not an optional over-powered item, rather one that's mandatory in order to match the power of a certain enemy at some point in the game, and perhaps one that has consequences in a really unique way, such as with a risk / reward type of thing, Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde, Incredible Hulk...etc..
All this, but accordingly mixed into one game. Having all such concepts could be a to-many-cooks situation, but if it were to hit the sweet spot, then it would prove to be an epic, not just Zelda game, but video game overall, on the highest level possible. I'm sure Nintendo could get something like this right though.

Re: Review: Color Zen (3DS eShop)

I was thinking of picking this up last night. Then I downloaded it for my phone and played through the free levels just to try it out. I quite like it. Can anybody tell me if one version has more content than the other, with the price in mind? I really want to get this for the 3DS, but I'm not sure if the there are any differences to justify a purchase for my 3dees (or a full purchase for the phone), as I don't really see it containing and using the 3D or any other specialties / features for that matter.

Re: Talking Point: The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U Should Open Some Doors

G-64

I don't care a whole lot for this controller. Actually, I don't care at all. I much prefer the newer controllers we have on store, and encourage them to focus their attention and energy on the new controllers rather than reviving old ones. The GamePad has so many options and so much potential that this GC controller revival better not be a self punch in the face by Nintendo.

All I care for are the games, and the least I can hope for is that this is a sign for some GC VC.

@WaveBoy Yep although Sunshine Airport really nicely integrated the realistic approach with the wacky world of Mario. Interestingly, I wanted to see how the realistically-looking planes here compare to the one in the opening of Super Mario Sunshine. Boy what a difference in style haha. Nonethelss though, I guess it must be the liveliness and colourfulness of Sunshine Airport that appeals to me personally, and still make for a fitting Super Mario environment.

Re: Ubisoft Data Places Mario as the Second Highest Selling Franchise Since 2005

G-64

@Emblem Well, I hope Nintendo doesn't take that route then
If so, then condone safe sex in some way, you know, to maintain a positive image but I guess soon with virtual reality and what not, anything can become possible.

But the war and violence part is still sad, and how CoD is the most popular on this list. Can't nobody tell me otherwise

Re: Ubisoft Data Places Mario as the Second Highest Selling Franchise Since 2005

G-64

@KeeperBvK True, true. Seems logical.

lol what? I'm as cool as ice. I just don't know much about CoD (at least the later versions), but my impression is that it has realistic graphics, contains real-world guns, and the premise of it has you choosing realistically-depicted, nationalistic groups and organizations...hmmm. So the gameplay has you picking sides and killing the 'enemy' (because who's actually an enemy when playing online with others) with a repertoire of different weapons, to which kids learn a lot more about than necessary and not to mention, can spark aggression and hatred in them.

The difference between the movies you mention and games like these, is that games can easily serve as a source of education, where, like I said, there are all these different kinds of guns on display, with listed stats and attributes that they all learn and memorize and what not. Plus you first-handedly take the role of a character / represent a group. But a movie predominantly doesn't deal with such aspects. You watch the protagonists in action and presumably identify with them, and that's it. It'll always be the same (obviously lol). Whereas in a game you create different situations, get fully immersed, become uber-competitive, get better, even become obsessed in some cases. And besides, when movies deal with war (such as Platoon for example), they get the message across that it doesn't pay and that it's simply the horror (for most movies, I take it). Or it's a James Bond movie, a Western, or Terminator, which thematically deals with good vs. bad, justice & law, save the girl, save the world...etc., you know.

Yeah, so my main argument is the education part I talked about, and how games that contain real-world objects can teach us about them, not necessarily the gameplay. For example myself. In my pre-teens I loved racing games a lot, such as Need for Speed. I was interested in cars, and therefore I knew a lot about cars for my age (ah, good times playing NFS3 ). Kids be comin' up to me these days saying, "you don't know what a MP40 is?!" lol

Now, I'm one that says video games are not responsible for violence, such as school shootings for example, but they do bring across a certain message and surely condone it in one way or another by making it "absurdly over the top" in its own manner. So some games may well play a role in that, and therefore my point that it's a bit sad seeing how popular a franchise like CoD has gotten, since it does deal with war themes, as I recall. But whatevs.

Re: Video: Check Out This Mario Kart 8 And Mario Kart Wii Moo Moo Meadows Comparison

As amazing as MK8's version looks, I personally prefer the more light-hearted, vibrant and 'cartoony' look on the Wii version tbh.. It just suits the Mario Universe a bit better imo.. Other tracks in MK8 do this very well, however. This track really pushes that 'realistic' look to it, which kinda stands out and clashes with the rest of the environment that does use a more simplistic appraoch.
