A couple weeks ago, it was announced that the final Splatfest for Splatoon would be taking place later this month. The news was disappointing to many, but it seems like Nintendo wants to make sure that it goes all out with this final celebration. As a result, fans were allowed to vote on what three stages would be in the rotation for the competition, and the results have just been tallied.
The stages chosen are Kelp Dome, Walleye Warehouse, and Moray Towers, a good mixture of stages to send off the Splatfest extravaganzas. These picks seem to be fair, too, based on the voting results in each region, which are listed below:
Remember, the Splatfest is happening this Friday. Be there.
What do you think? Do you like these choices? What were your picks? Drop us a comment in the section below.

No Arowana Mall in any country top votes.
People who ever choose Moray Towers, thank you, you made part of my last Splatfest a snipe hellfest🙄
@Wandman5612
I feel ya, I wanted Arowana Mall as well.
Also, I never got that vote email, what's up with that?
yeaaaah!!!! I love Moray Towers! definitely glad that's our last splatfest stage. (^_^ )/
I was hoping Mahi Mahi would make the cut. :/ Ah, well, it'll hopefully be back for Splatfests in Spla2n!
I do not like Moray Towers that much but the rest I enjoy I'm excited for Splatfest and sad also that it's the last one. Oh well I'm glad for all of the past Splatfest and will continue playing the hell out of this game. Such an addicting game!
@Shard1 Yeah. Me too! Weirdest thing is that they never added it onto their website. Then I would have definitely see it while searching for Amiibo leaks. One day...
I think I picked Flounder Heights, Blackbelly Skatepark, and Kelp Dome. Still, good results. I'm going to try to be on as much as possible until the end.
Turf wars just... Well it's just not very fun.
Aw man. No love for the camp? Not real big on the towers.
No Camp Triggerfish or Arowana Mall. >.>
That's a real bummer. I would have replace Kelp Dome and Blackbelly Skatepark for them instead.
Moray Towers? Gross.
Wish Arowana Mall was one of the maps!
Yay! Splatfest. But I really just came here to wish @rjejr a happy birthday before it strikes 12 on the east coast! Hope you had a great one!
It's a date! Don't mind the choices, just as long as I can go for one final roll with the roller.
Woo-hoo! I voted for Walleye Warehouse and it made it in. That was the first stage that I ever played in Splatoon back during the Global Testfire, and it's a stage that I really enjoy to this day.
My three favorite maps!!! So hyped! I just hope the Splatoon servers are ready... cough Pokemon GO cough
I'd play if I could... Any last minute ideas on how to fix error code 118-0516? Tried port forward, changing firewall, DMZ, even called my ISP and was basically told to fix it myself.
@HyrulianOfHyrule as a bucketeer, my favorite targets are snipers heh. i luv those towers.
@MitchVogel all the noise with nintendo, what with the p-go, the final splatfest, the anniversaries, the this and the that, no nintendo direct yet?
Haven't been to a single splatfest yet as literally every single time there's been one I've either completely forgotten or really could not join due to real life getting in the way, and the same is happening this time (not even anywhere near my Wii U this Friday). I literally have no idea what goes on during Splatfests or what they even are. Shame I have to miss this last one, and even more shame how Nintendo ended support for them only a year after Splatoon launched.
@Shard1 Same I never got that email as well
In other news...

That's a nice selection. I picked Walleye Warehouse since having the oldest map seemed like a good idea for this Splatfest. Plus, it's a small map, so there's always a lot of action happening.
There was a poll?
Would have liked to have seen Piranha Pit, but Walleye Warehouse is another fav.
@Jamotello It's like they're afraid to try to capitalize on all this good stuff that's been happening to them!
I'm satisfied with these Euro picks, although I would have preferred Port Mackerel.
Kelp Dome and Moray Towers were solid picks though the other should've been one of the later maps like Mahi-Mahi Resort or Ancho-V Games.
Erm..why wasn't I told about this poll?!?!?
None of the dlc maps. ......
Something I still can't help but wonder: if this is the last splatfest, how are we going to get snails after this? Will we just be unable to upgrade slots and shuffle existing ones once we run out?
@rayolinels : I'm glad to see it too for that reason! Those first many matches learning the game, dealing with all those corners around which danger always seemed to be found. Good stuff.
And me and my trusty aerosprayer w/ ink strike love Kelp Dome!
Moray Towers is my least favorite stage...didn't realize it was so highly ranked by others.
Kelp Dome and Walleye Warehouse are good, though.
Can't say I'm going to miss the splatfests. Haven't played in a while, but I pretty much played ranked battles exclusively. The system didn't make sense and always favored the least popular of the two choices. I would consciously gauge which choice was least popular and select it for my team. It never failed, at least in the states. If I had to choose which stage is the best for turf war, it would definitely be the skatepark. It felt like battle for control of the central tower. Control the tower and your team likely won the match.
@crimsontadpoles How did you pick what ones you wanted. I was not able to
@candy94 Nintendo sent emails around which had the voting links in it.
@crimsontadpoles
Yes, they did send them around, but some of us, a good majority I would say, didn't get it at all.
@pokedude583
You get the option of adding slots to equipment and shuffling abilities once you reach level 20 for 30,000 coins per use by talking to Spyke.
@crimsontadpoles I did not get an email
@Shard1 Just wanted to chime in that I am one of those who never got an email though I am on their mailing list.
@Qun_Mang
It appears to be a very selective approach that they took considering that a lot of us didn't get it at all.
Can someone explain the appeal of moray towers? Especially in a turf war. Moray Towers are a snipers dream. But this a Splatfest. Splatfests are turf war. (Most) snipers don't care about turf, they just worry about how many kills they get.
Every time I see a sniper on my team in turf war I let out an audible groan because I know they will contribute nothing... I frickin hate Moray Towers - my least favourite stage in Splatoon. I can't understand why it's so popular.
Kelp Dome is such an abysmal map. Yas dun goofed.
@Sir_JBizzle Thanks Bizzle. It was a good day, except for my 3 hours on here replying to people calling me insane. I should be used to it by now, I am insane, but it still made for a rough afternoon.
As for these 3 stages, if they replaced Moray towers - which I hate - w/ the oil rig, if would practically be the first 3 stages, why end w/ that? How did the warehouse even get elected, it's so small and boring. Kelp dome is ok, Camp Triggerfish was always my favorite, the bridge and big city level were good, I never really played the last 4 too much but at least they were new. Oh well, it's nice that they let people vote, which I didn't, so I have no say. Just counting down to Spla2oon and starting all over again.
@BensonUii Thanks. Never late. But as a I bonus I'm not going to bore you w/ a lengthy reply, either on or off topic.
Walleye Warehouse is the worst stage out of the three. I wish Flounder Heights was chosen. That's my favorite stage.
I bought Splatoon yeasterday (because of the sale), so I don't recognize all levels.
Splat on!!
@Ninten-san Welcome to the club!
@TrixieSparkle That's a lot of coins.
That many people like Moray..?
sigh I hoped for Piranha Pit, Mahi Mahi Resort, and Urchin Underpass.
Disappointed Piranha Pit didn't make the cut, but I'm glad Kelp Dome made it as that is probably my favorite stage. I can't believe it is almost time for the last Splatfest hoorah... I am Team Marie. Still not sure what weapon I am going to go with though... I hope the servers can handle it. I suspect A LOT of people are going to be taking part in this one.
Anyhow, I will see you guys out there on the battlefield! If you see a "vio" in your game, that's me! Good luck everyone and let's give it our all no matter what team you chose!
@FriedSquid You, sir, are very good at stage picking.
Moray is fun for Rainmaker and Tower Control, not for Turf War.
Kelp Dome is awful. I hate that stage.
Walleye Warehouse is the best pick of the bunch. Great for turf war.
If I knew we were voting on this, my votes would have been for Mahi-Mahi Resort, Piranha Pit, and either Walleye Warehouse, Saltspray Rig, or Museum D'Alfonsino.
@happylittlepigs Thanks dude! Yeah, Walleye is the best of the three. And at least a good thing about Moray being picked is that it's gorgeous at night — I've never seen it on Splatfest before.
Looking back, all this hate on Moray Towers. As a roller, I don't recall how playing this stage felt in the original game, but with the fling mechanics changed in the sequel, I love forging a trail with jump-flings, climbing walls and setting Beakons for my team to never use (or maybe I just never notice). But hey, it made it into Smash, so I guess it has that going for it.
