That box art goes hard! This is the game that I have most wanted to play for the longest period of time, and I cannot wait to finally experience it. The original game is one of my favorites, and this will likely surpass it, considering its enormous reputation.
@OctolingKing13 There are already numerous knockoffs on mobile, some of which look almost identical. It’s kinda sad to see how quickly some people will leech off the creativity and effort of others for quick cash.
“As for the third game, it's currently scheduled to arrive at some point in 2024.”
What’re you talking about, Liam? It’s available on the Japanese NSO right now! I just booted it up and stared at the title screen wistfully, as one does in the depths of despair.
I don’t understand why the remake removes the score. Getting a high score and trying to get a star on each level was genuinely challenging in the original game. I know they have time attack, but it’s not the same.
Also, the Plus worlds are NOT brand new. They were in fact in the original.
@Not_Soos Yeah, complaining about Hey! Pikmin is kinda my old man schtick, but I don’t actually hate it. It’s fine for what it is, as a 2D side scroller with light puzzle elements, and it does have many enjoyable elements. It’s just that it has so little of what makes Pikmin so, so special to me. It is a good game, but to me it does not feel like a Pikmin game.
Well, there was that picture of Miyamoto and Arad together that leaked almost 10 years ago in the Sony email leaks, and that’s what first came to my mind when I heard how long they’ve been working on the film. Nintendo has been talking with Sony and Arad for a long time now.
There’s no evidence to back this up, but I assume that that everything before this announcement was negotiations and pre-pre-announcements, perhaps accelerated by the Mario movie’s success.
And with that, the life of a 10 years old game ends (hopefully). This game is so, so enormous, and this is an excellent end to an excellent (albeit flawed) DLC.
Also, the other features are nice additions, especially the jukebox. I love it when any game has a jukebox feature. I will certainly be using it a lot.
Why when I saw the title did I assume this was deck-builder based on American football? …Guess Alan’s Kit and Krysta article has put weird football game ideas into my head.
I am starting to think that Gen 1 will never come…I’ve lost hope. All I see is a barren desert of death, devoid of a single drive of water, deadly to all who enter, as unforgiving as the dry wind…
I love Bloom, that little glorified and gamified pedometer, but with each step forward it has taken in its updates, it seems it always has to take a step backwards, as well.
The interview mentioned the changes to Mushroom Battles and Special Event Decor Pikmin, both of which were changes for the worse. I love you, Pikmin Bloom, but at the end of the day a mobile game will always be just that: a mobile game.
This is a really excellent recreation. I wonder if this was planned for the game or if it was just thrown together for the E3 presentation just like that area in the original game. With both this and the recent interview, we are getting much more knowledge of the development of the series, and I am always up for learning development history!
This game is looking to be even meatier than Pikmin 2, and, though the difficulty seems to be next to nonexistent for the sake of newcomers, I really appreciate all of the elements that mesh so very well with the Pikmin experience. A hub and upgrades are not new ideas by any means, but they are ideas that are new to Pikmin, and they fit rather well.
The decade of waiting will have been worth it! It may not unseat Pikmin 2 as my favorite, but it going to be one fantastic time!
@Altaria_97 That was to your biggest gripe? Really? Well, my biggest gripe was that the secret stages were way too easy. Talk about a snooze fest, am I right?
While Dream Team may have ended Mario & Luigi’d golden era, it did have its memorable moments and mechanics. It’s just a game, but I still get tearful thinking about Dream’s Deep.
Why would anyone put Red Pikmin so low? That is a bit confusing, as they are the best fighters besides Purples…huh…
I wonder whether Purple Pikmin in 4 will be just as nerfed as in 3. I appreciate the balancing, but there’s simply something to be said for being able to wipe out a Burrowing Snagret in just a few seconds.
Let's go! It's almost a month away, and I cannot contain my excitement. Pikmin may be niche series, but it is also a special series for me! Character customization was never necessary, but it's a nice addition.
(And now I shall go wait for Arlo to make an hour-long video talking about this minute-long trailer!)
The Imprisoning War? So, Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild take place in the downfall timeline?!
Then again, this "Imprisoning War" could be a completely different one from the one detailed in A Link to the Past. Still, at this point this is the closest lead that we have to the timeline placement of these games...
Of course, in the grand scheme of things, the timeline placement matters little! Tears of the Kingdom is still going to be a masterpiece!
New Horizons will always hold a special place in the hearts of many, myself included. It had its flaws, but ultimately it was (and is) an excellent game, and one of the most significant and successful games not just in recent time but in all of video game history.
It was honestly…pretty bad…well, actually very bad. Disappointments on many fronts, and pretty poor pacing. (And this is coming from someone who isn’t even a Pokémon fan!) I guess we cannot have a mind blowing Nintendo Direct and a mind-blowing Pokémon Presents in the same month. It would be so mind-blowing that reality as we know it would collapse into oblivion. At least there is going to at long last be a Pokémon game I can play simply by sleeping. That’s a good thing…I think…

I love how Shiver and Marina are just chill and complimenting each other (and even when Shiver does insults her it goes right over Marina’s head).
Hopefully one day we can see all three idol groups together. Final Fest, anyone?

Re: Nintendo Releases New EarthBound Beginnings Switch Online Icons
@Liam_Doolan No problem! I think booting it up just to stare at the title screen and sigh deeply is something we all should do.
Perhaps if we all do it at once, Nintendo will hear our collective sigh and have pity upon us!
