Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Further Reduces Its Stake In Nintendo

Faruko

This is SLIGHTLY misleading, because, yes Saudi Arabia has been reducing their stakes in Nintendo, is probably related to their investment fund Savvy Games Group which is probably the entity that now owns that reduced %.

So they are (probably) at the same % stake, just with another name

Re: Nintendo President Says Longer Game Development Cycles Are "Unavoidable"

Faruko

I feel this is true, but let's look at something simple, like rendering a scene, that alone should be a WAY faster compared to 2012-2013. Between how much stronger tech/PCs are and the potential use of AI to HELP in development, we can safely say that developing PS4/PS4Pro quality of games in 2024 to be significantly faster than 2012. Will it take more time? yes, of course, but it would still take a lot less.

At least from a tech point of view in terms of rendering speed, knowledge of engines, and engines being way more friendly too.

Re: Monolith Soft Is Looking For Programmer With "3D Action Game Experience"

Faruko

Xenoblade as an IP has pretty good future, but they have to make a change in terms of gameplay. The combat, while amazing, is a way too convoluted for it to be achieve the masses sadly.

You tell someone how to play Xenoblade 2 and you might as aswell do a thesis, it's second nature by the time you are playing it and learn how to abuse it, but it's work.

I do wonder if it's not better to create a new IP, i mean, if you are going to change what made Xenoblade, why not just create a new IP that's action based

Re: GTA 6 On 'Switch 2' Would Be "Very Tricky To Pull Off", Says Digital Foundry

Faruko

Considering they won't even make a PC version (which is nuts considering the game is made on PCs lol), and that GTA6 should be even way more scalable than GTA5 (engines getting better in mamny ways) i just doubt it's an issue of power but more about willing and $$$.

If Rockstar thinks there's enough profit for their invesment on Switch 2, it'll probably come out. By the time Switch was out (and remember, WiiU was a massive failure so developers probably werent that interested, at least until it became clear the switch was a success) and had a decent player base GTA5 was like 6 years old (if not more) and probably everyone had it.

Switch was also a dif architecture which mean porting an old engine and huge game even more of an issue, and that means more invesment.

Nowadays, ARM is way more prevalent than what it was 10 years ago, so engines are taking into account that architecture when being developed.

It'll not be as pretty, but if Nintendo approaches R* and there's enough incentive and demand, it'll totally come to Switch 2, maybe not on release, but later for sure.

Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Raises Stake In Nintendo For The Second Time This Year

Faruko

what i like about boycotts is that people draw a line where they think its good to do it, like not buying nintendo games because the SA are a regime (and i agree) but using social media like twitter or facebook is not bad even if one of the owners of a particular social media made it's money by literally being a slaver, and the other is an ***** that sells your entire information and probably skews voting to what he likes.

Re: Samantha Robertson Has Left Nintendo Of America After 11 Years

Faruko

@Spoony_Tech @Highlar Nintendo has closed 2 offices and moved those employees to another offices, so, like krysta and kit, people have left because they dont want to be relocated.

They are closing satelite offices to in favor of keeping most of the people under fewer/bigger buildings

Re: First Activision, Now EA? FIFA Publisher Is Tipped For Takeover

Faruko

Whats the point of buying EA, i mean, kinda bioware, but the heavy hitters are all FIFA, Madden and NBA. I don't see FIFA not taking away the license from EA if a takeover happens and means said game is exclusive to one platform.

I mean, is kinda already happening. EA is a bit of a shell without those big names

Kinda like activison without Warzone and Candy Crush, lots of decent IPs, but you wonder if they actually worth a lot.

Re: Talking Point: How Does Microsoft's Purchase Of Activision Blizzard Impact Nintendo?

Faruko

Nintendo probably doesn't care because the current state of Activision is not worth it on the potential of games, more so on the IP side.

Activision was doing barely anything with their IPs bar say a bit of Diablo and Call of Duty.

So in all honesty, this one move feels a lot more "safe" for the industry than the Bethesda one. If anything Microsoft could push for more ips to be "revived". Bethesda WAS making games for everyone (for the most part), unlike Activision which was just a Call of Duty Warzone machine.

Re: Review: Archvale - A Bruisingly Brilliant RPG And Bullet-Hell Blend

Faruko

This is a terribly designed game for what it wants to be, it's an RPG where progression doesnt feel, it's a high risk terribly low reward game and its an adventure game where, so far, i've only found 1 gadget that actually makes the gameplay feel better and not just there to stop me from going to other parts of the map.

Frustrating because it is fun, but there's 0 reward in this rpg game, so im just going through it and i never feel stronger, i see some stats that in the end mean nothing because the enemy in the next part of the game takes more or less the same amount of hits to kill than the last one and i barely understand if im actually getting hit for less or what.

The balance doesnt make sense, some parts are just harder because the enemies are harder even tho supposedly game ease into it, the difficuly spikes are aplenty and not fun.

There's just need to be a lot of rework to be done, if it wants to be an RPG then make me feel stronger, having numbers go up barely counts as an RPG...

it is a good bullet hell game tho, id give it a 6/10.

Re: NEO: The World Ends With You Has 'Underperformed Expectations', Square Enix Says

Faruko

NEO TWEWY should have been switch exclusive, at least for a year. The series is already tied with Nintendo (i would not be surprised if it sold something like 70/30 in favor of Nintendo) and could have done way better marketing that what Square Enix did, which was literally 0.

NEO TWEWY its a quality game that's unlike anything out there.

And i think Square did a terrible job since even people on this page are mixing TWEWY with NEO lmao
