Probably because if you say a lot about the NS now, youll probably miss some potential buyers on the xmass holidays, they pretty much want to keep the 3DS/WiiU as relevant as possible to sell a few more before the NS

Battery life must be still in propper balancing, would not be surprised if the console is still on being built or in test.
and no backwards compatible seems so obvious, the wiiU had PowerPC arch, this one has ARM (maybe iOS/Android ports ? that could be pretty huge)

Yeah, theres a lot of "jumping ship" or low term investors that cant risk the new announcement because they might end up losing money and for their strategy of buying and selling in short periods thats a no go.

I think the biggest different with the WiiU is that the message is more or less clear of what it is

the 3 minute video was superb, it pretty much showed the idea of the console in a sublime way...

Compare that with the WiiU that the less tech-savy people still didnt knew wtf was it after 3.5 years of marketing.

That alone puts it in a MUCH better position than what the WiiU had, you pretty much know what you are getting into by buying the Switch

Im not sure about all the people here, but MOST of Nintendo games are 60fps lock because they know better frame rate produces much better gameplay, tighter controls and response, it feels MUCH better to play.

So suddenly everyone arguing that "frame rate is not important" seems like a real issue, Nintendo has always been applaud fortrying to stick to 60fps because it makes gameplay superior compared to most developers, they should keep doing it, 60fps IS the best way to play games (ok, 144hz, but thats another discussion lol)

I just dont get it, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Smash Bros, F-Zero, would not be the same with 30fps, and i hope Nintendo sticks to 60fps when possible

60 fps ALWAYS, they actually make the gameplay better. graphics are shinny yes, but they dont make the gameplay any better than it is right now

Kinda obvious, this is how market works, especially in such sharp rises.

When companies have rises as this in such short time, people that were heavily invested and lost money while stocks were falling will sell, or even people that bought cheap will sell now, those people are there for the short term, small gains. after that the stock prize should stabilize

The Vita wasnt even HD, most of their "impressive games" lacked any kind of AA and had terrible texture work. it was "wow" because the small screen made it look good, which is were handhelds can gamble a little bit. But no, the Vita was very good for a handheld, but it was nothing compared to the 360 or PS3

I mean, the Tegra X1 on a 720p handheld/console resolution would be mind blowing, the X1 was made for running 1080p screens.

But of course, the X1 was released like early last year, so MAYBE AND JUST MAYBE we can see Tegra Parker in the works (Tegra X2)

@R9delta i mean XB360/PS3 level of power on a handheld is pretty mind blowing, not sure how this would work out tho, the Tegra X1 is kinda power hungry AND hot, so im kinda skeptical about the handheld part

@Moon the Tegra X1 is still the most powerful SoC (at least in terms of GPU, im not sure about its CPU part... but its aimed for gaming so GPU comes first).

@WireWare Not exactly, the PS4 and the XB1 were already cheaper than what Sony/MS were selling, that was 2.5 years ago or something.

Back then you could do a PC (yes, with everything) with more or less the same ammount of money and have comparable performance, NOW a comparable PC would blown them out of the water (a 950 for $150 its about 50% more powerful)

By the way the processing power one should not be that hard to achieve if Nintendo doesnt drop the ball, Zen architecture and 14nm fin fet should give the WiiU far more power than the jaguar on the PS4/XB1

Its not that hard to make a console thats far more powerful than the ps4/xb1. Nintendo needs to do that.

You can build PCs that surpass the consoles power with the same money, if they are betting with a Zen APU they will have a such an advantage in terms of computing power.
