@Blister, the arcades days were great days. Daytona, Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, Ridge Racer, Time Crisis, Sega Star Wars Arcade, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat just to name a few all appeared in my local arcade at some point back in the day.
@Blister, I was also more excited about Capcom Arcade than than anything else that was shown in the Nintendo Direct. I think this is down purely to the old gamer in me who remembers games like these and are the reason I got into video games in the first place. Unfortunately I haven't got my TV mounted to a TV mount that can rotate. I went full in and paid for the £30 for the full bundle. It will be interesting to see if Capcom adds more game packs because their CPS system catalogue has some true gems in it.
I'm hoping that Capcom will keep on adding packs. I would love to see Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Aliens Vs Predators, Darkstalkers, Super Gem Fighters and Pang to name a few. Would absolutely love to see the X-Men games but I imagine that one is in the hands of Marvel and Disney
I think the £29.99 bundle is very good value, it work's out to 94p a game! If you have a flip grip the ability to switch screen rotation will be very handy for the vertical shooters like 1943.
Moving to digital only for my Switch and already made the transition on the PS4. To many games require day one patches or are not entirely on the disc or cartridge. Maybe for a Switch successor have 2 SD card slots instead of one (assuming there is a Switch 2 and Nintendo are still stingy with on board storage).
I think digital sales are only going to get bigger from this point. As already pointed out a lot of games these days require day one patches or are not entirely on the cartridge. The only downside is the the amount of onboard storage. Let’s hope the Switch successor has a lot more on board storage.
I like what Alienware have done, bigger controls, bigger kick stand and easier way of connecting it to a monitor or tv. I think from the videos I’ve seen it can also dock into some kind of base. With it being a portable pc it has access to all the usual store fronts and therefore some games that won’t come to the Nintendo Switch. It’ll be interesting if it makes it to market and to see how expensive it it is.
I’ll be playing Ni No Kuni, not normally a JRPG person but this seems to have hit the mark. Possibly some Smash Bros with the kids. Otherwise my backlog is huge and waiting to start, Saints Row, Skyrim, Witcher 3, Dragonball Fighters, World of Final Fantasy, Lego Harry Potter Collection to name a few games
@WhiteTrashGuy, I recently repurchased Ghost Squad and Overkill after making the mistake of selling them originally. I’ve had an absolute blast playing them again recently
This is a definite buy for me, combined with my flip grip in handheld mode its a no brainer!! It will also be the first time I will have all of the tables on one platform.
@clvr, according to Games website by pre-ordering the Full Package you will get the deluxe pack for free. Of course usual disclaimers apply subject to availability and one copy per customer
I’ve been watching career play throughs on YouTube, it looks good and plays well on Switch, I even believe that you can alter the names of the drivers in career mode. Once I get my new fibre connection sorted today it looks like i’ll be purchasing this game. The publisher has also put a small discount on the game for the first two weeks.
Nintendo in my eyes would need to include more onboard storage. the issue with digital games is the price on the store fronts, granted Sony have plenty of sales and Nintendo are showing signs that there not afraid of having sales. But the price of digital games at launch are horrendous
We'll all have to see where this story goes next!, after all there's no smoke without fire! It also reminds me of the recent AC III leaks that were doing the rounds a number of weeks back with the game coming to Switch then not coming to Switch. If this thing is real I'll expect some sort of announcement at E3.
It will be interesting to see how these rumours play out, personally I can’t see streaming working in my part of the UK as I have lost count the amount of times I’ve lost connection playing Tetris 99!
I would rather see you being able to download the games, but can’t see that being a thing.
I thought is was a very good solid direct. Far to many games coming that I would like to play, going to have to prioritise what I can afford and what I haven't played before. Assassins Creed will have to wait and I'll see what the dlc for Captain Toad is like before double dipping on that as well.
Why not bring the Japan only dockless variant of the current Switch? I’d be excited about an upgraded version of the current Switch but a Switch mini no. With 32 million Switches out in the wild already how many of these are already being used by kids?
I absolutely hated Assassins Creed 3, even though the story starts out good it soon goes down hill for me. I’d like to see the Ezio Trilogy, Black Flag and Rogue if possible.
Can’t see Unity coming to the Switch as it struggled to run on a base PS4 until Ubisoft managed to patch out all of the glitches.
A good decision by Nintendo and a very good but honest way of dealing with the delay. I bet the original trilogy will now see a remaster on the Switch.
Smash on Xmas day, still trying to conquer the world in Civ 6. Still need to complete Dragon Quest Builders, need to start Skyrim and that’s before anything I pick up in the sales!
I hope from this point forward Nintendo realise they can realistically keep one console a viable prospect.
Their efforts with the Switch so far have paid off, everyone loves the concept. They just need to keep the games coming after this year was a bit disappointing in that area for me.
I think the words "ill-fitting port" are a bit strong. I get the critisism about the clunky UI, but give it a few hours and you will soon learn where things are. This game is addictive as hell and once hooked it will keep pulling you back in for more. As a first time football manager player my advise to anyone playing this for the first time be patient and give it time.
The dogfighting reminds me of mini squadron an olg game you could get on ios. The jumping out of the plane and stealling another plane well that’s just insane, time to keep an eye on this.
It seems reasonable game for a very reasonable price. I have some of the Sid Mier games on my Ipad, this will be a welcome addition to my Switch catalogue
I absolutely loved Galaxy on Fire 2, can’t say much about Manticore as Fish labs / Deep Silver went with the ftp route and I don’t really do ftp games.
@Defeated_Hero, your first post has gone a long way in getting me back interested in Manticore again, looking forward to seeing this get released at the end of March. On a separate note, if Manticore sells well, will Deep Silver Fish Labs think about bringing the first two Galaxy on Fire Games to the Switch?

Caught both fish, luckily without a lot of hassle. The challenge now is to try and catch them again and sell them on to CJ!

Re: Talking Point: What's Next For Nintendo After Switch?
Stick with the Switch concept, it’s been proved that Nintendo can’t keep two systems going at once, Sony couldn’t manage two systems at once.
I can’t see no reason while Nintendo can’t keep refing the Switch concept and keep churning them out for generations to come.
