Curve Digital is teaming up with Infinite State Games to publish Rogue Aces on the Switch eShop next month.
Showcasing procedurally generated levels, Rogue Aces is also coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. All three versions launch on April 12th, costing £9.99/€12.99/$12.99.
Here's a wee helping of PR:
Rogue Aces asks players to turn the tide of the war as they battle for supremacy across the air, sea and ground over 100 increasingly challenging procedurally generated missions. Using one analogue stick to control the direction of the propeller plane while the other controls the throttle, combat is frantic but graceful, encouraging daring acrobatic manoeuvres. Each plane carries a finite amount of fuel to capture enemy bases and destroy enemy forces making strategic planning, replenishing and repairs a must across its colourful 1940s styled levels.
Mike Daw, Creative Director at Infinite State Games, had this to say:
Rogue Aces’ gameplay is perfectly suited for pick up and play sessions. Its short, frenetic levels are great if you’ve got a spare 5, 15 or even 50 minutes. And while Rogue Aces’ aerial combat might initially appear simple our controls and mechanics keep the proceedings super fun and deep.
Jason Perkins, Managing Director of Curve Digital, added:
Rogue Aces looks fantastic and we’re extremely excited to announce that Infinite State Games is becoming part of the Curve family. As a team of handheld devotees, we can’t wait for players around the world to experience Rogue Aces’ portable pick up and play fun.

This game looks insane but in a good way. May have to look into this.
Hey look, it's a non rogue-like twinstick shooter with random generated levels!! I'll give this a look!
Dunno. Looks like Luftrausers in TECHNICOLOR, but somehow I still prefer the "original"
I don't even care I feel old for posting this.
A little bit shoot-em-up, a little bit Chop lifter and a little bit of I'm not really sure but something. It's a shoot'nStunt-em-up thingamajig.
Will buy
I liked the jumping out the plane and taking over another, or floating down in a parachute and bombing people
It's no Squadron 51, but I was sold when the PARACHUTING PILOT DROPPED A GRENADE on a enemy plane . . . that's my type of insanity!!!
This looks promising and has enough different about it to make it stand out. Now here’s hoping the game is good
@Shiryu Came here to post the same thing! Loved that game - as janky as it was. The controls took some getting used to but it was well satisfying when you good good at it.
@TJM Remains fantastic, even the incredible 8-bit Game Boy Color version. But Amiga 4 life.
I'm getting "retro roguelike in a fantasy setting" fatigue. This is different and that's a good thing.
I like the look of this for sure.
@Shiryu I thought the EXACT same thing within the first few seconds of the trailer... looks like Wings of Fury on steroids! Oh man, I sank countless hours into that game as a kid on the family's Apple IIe, this looks like a day-one purchase for me.
@Racthet916 Yep, hope this one delivers where it counts.
I personally feel the trailer is cheesy. But still doesn't look too bad!
The dogfighting reminds me of mini squadron an olg game you could get on ios. The jumping out of the plane and stealling another plane well that’s just insane, time to keep an eye on this.
@Shiryu YES! I loved "Wings of Fury" when I was a kid. There was also "Super Army War" (2005) ("Glory Days: The Essence of War" in Europe) on GBA which was the same idea and lot of fun.
@DrJiggle Oh, need to check that one out!
wow, looks like a crossover of Wings Of Fury (as mentioned before) and the Island of Dr. Destructo (from Bulldog Software 1987)

Funny chaotic little game that was...
Looks pretty fun really. All frantic and colorful. May have to scoop this one up.
If it’s as good as Don’t Die Mr Robot I’ll be buying it day one
This looks so fast paced and intense. I'm sold! This is definitely my type of game. It also reminded me of Glory Days 2 on the DS, although that's very slow gameplay compared to this trailer.
I feel like procedurally generated levels is killing traditional level design...
insert old man joke here
