I don't think Amiibo would be as big as Nintendo is hoping... it will sell with the core Nintendo fans but would not attract children in mass like Skylanders or Disney Infinity

We are talking about NES romhack here, your point will be valid if we were talking about something more demanding... and Nintendo fanboys complain all the time that they get gimped versions even when the Wii and now the Wii U were clearly not on par with the other consoles

releasing a gimped version about a year after the original at the same price.... this is the same thing Nintendo fanboys love to hate when third parties do it to the Wii U, but Nintendo have now done the same thing to its loyal 3DS customers

the success came at the expense of screwing 'old' 3ds owners, I don't think this would work well for Nintendo in the long run (i.e, when they release a new console people would know not to buy at launch and wait until they release the 'new' version of that console)

the problem is Nintendo is not marketing to kids, it is marketing to parents... Nintendo is still operating upon the premise that the nature state of things is for kids to want a video game console and that what you need to do is convince parents who think video games are the devil that video games are safe for their children to play...... this may have been how things were in the 80s but that premise is now very outdated... However Nintendo has failed ro realize that

@SavoirFaire I only read no Season Pass but I assumed that meant no DLC... but I may be wrong or maybe they haven't decided yet whether they'll release the DLC which is why they have not offered a Season Pass option

You know Nintendo's third party support have hit new lows when they cannot even get a Lego game to bring its DLC to Wii U.

Problem is this: if your console is lost or stolen or not working you cannot transfer software to a different one without going through Nintendo's customer service.... that's just not acceptable and people need to stop defending this anti-consumer practice

The 'Contacting Nintendo' part is what's wrong about it..... you don't Need to contact, Sony, or Microsoft, or Apple, or Google or Valve, for transfering your stuff to a different hardware so why should you need to contact Nintendo..... it's not an issue for those in the U.S. but its a big issue for those of us who live in smaller countries where Nintendo has no offices

What about working on something actually useful like say a way to retrieve our games when our console is lost or stolen or not working without having to contact Nintendo's customer support

Of course nobody believe it when Square Enix says the 3DS is not powerful enough to run this game on 3D and call them lazy..... but when GameFreak says the same thing, or Nintendo says the 3DS is not powerful enough to run SSB with circle pad pro people believe them without question

and that's why I don't own a Wii U, Bayonetta is the only game that interest me in the whole list

so some random guy can make a gamecube controller work with SSB on regular 3DS but Nintendo can't make CPP work with it?

only Atlus and Capcom ever offer decent sales on 3DS but those are still worse than the sales they make in PSN

N64 controller sucked really bad, that's where Nintendo loss me as a customer after I had grown with NES and SNES.... saw the picture of the N64 in gamepro (remember that) and said "How am I supposed to play Street Fighter with that?" then saw the Playstation with a familar looking controller and jumped ship.......

I wasn't interested but this trailer made me interested, as there seems to be character interaction and not only dungeon crawling,... would have to wait for reviews

Agreed, Nintendo discounts are really blah, I've never seen a single Nintendo sale that makes me buy a game because the deal was too good to pass, on PSN I have bought more games that I have time to play just because the deals are so good (and yes Steam deals are even better)

I really can't think of a justification for that tiny right analog, looks ridculous and its a bit unfair for 3DS owners that some games won't be playable unless you upgrade that goes against the nature of consoles

Finally!!! Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright.... the sad thing is that that's one of two games that sold me on the 3DS (the other being KH3D) but after all this wait the excitement has kinda waned... still buying and downloading right away thought, just to help ensure the localization of future AA installments

I think the reason the 3DS is popular with women is because the thing is not pocket friendly but fits perfectly in a purse.. I know is a bit sexist and that not all women carry purses but that's my experience, I only use my 3DS at home but all women I know who own one carry it everywhere in their purses even if they don't use it

I don't get the quote about Disneyland and what not? and the casual/core gamer distinction has nothing to do with challenge... something like tetris is a casual game but can be very challenging....
