Nintendo has released a wealth of new trailers for upcoming indie games that it is showcasing at IndieCade 2014.
Charmingly referred to as 'Nindies', these developers have all declared their commitment to Nintendo's systems, and you can see just a snippet of the fruits of their labour in the trailers that you can see below.
Beatbuddy
THREAKS
Chariot
Frima
Costume Quest 2
Midnight City
Runbow
13AM Games

Chariot looks good. I love the artstyle.
Edit:
I like Beatbuddy too but I think I'd be dancing with it and not playing. I'll check the others later.
I didn't know Chariot was coming to the Wii U, that's awesome.
Hmmm, something is missing...
Could it be Pier Solar?
First two look good, others look questionable for my tastes.
Beatbuddy has a really catchy soundtrack! Groovy, electronica-filled funk is way too rare nowadays!
Chariot is silly, but in a good way. The humor and artstyle kinda remind me of Cake Princess, and I'd say that's a good thing!
Costume Quest 2 looks promising, but doesn't seem to add anything to the package of the first game - we'll see, though.
Runbow is just... confusing. I didn't understand a thing from the trailer, except that it needs an epilepsy warning.
Sportsball seems utterly chaotic. The limited animations and colors make it hard to see what's going on.
And Whoa Dave is just too 8-bit for my taste.
Overall, an interesting lineup, but nothing I'd get right away. Still waiting for Hyper Light Drifter and Pier Solar HD!
sorry but Nindy sounds very stupid
Beatbuddy and Chariot both look amazing!
I don't understand Runbow at all but I'll probably get it because 9 player local multiplayer sounds fun.
Pier Solar, Costume Quest 2, and possibly World for Keflings are the only indies I am interested in right now. Maybe Gone Home if it releases, although the game pretty much as been spoiled for me.
Chariot looks really good. Had never heard of it before so I did some Googling and it came out last week on both PS4 and X1, X1 Gold members get to play it free for all of Oct. Nintendo really needs some type of online program like Gold or PS+ if the Wii U is going to keep getting all these Nindie titles and expect them to sell. I think Stick it to the Man came out on Wii U the same week PS4 PS+ owners got that game for free.
On the bright side, I think this is only the 2nd title I've heard of that is coming to the 3 new consoles Wii U, PS4 and X1 but not the previous gen. (Can't recall the first, probably another indie.)
Oh, Chariot is $15 on PS4 and X1 for those wondering about a price, guessing it will be the same on Wii U.

@rjejr
How are the indies going to sell if they give them away for free? I wish we had figures, but beyond some exposure, I highly doubt that benefits indies. A lot of people get them free the first month or just wait until they are given away later on or they go on sale.
So I will happily pay full price for Chariot whenever the Wii U gets it. Same with Stick it to the Man.
beatbuddy looks good, but the rest....meh
runbow looks like a indie steam game called speedrunners only its more slow
Whoa Dave! is my standout Nindie.
I like the Atari 2600 style of whoa dave
My best friend works at 13AM Games and is super pumped over all the positive feed back for Runbow, such a great party game. Can't wait for it to come out.
@sinalefa - I really don't know how indies make money giving away their games other than MS or Sony pay them for each copy they give away? I just know I'm not paying for a game on Wii U I can play for free on my PS3. And I can't be the only person who feels that way. I'm not expecting Nintneod to give away games for free, PS+ is a rental service and Xbox is whatever i tis. but both have been around for a few years now and I think Nitneod should offer something similar. They are already offering paid DLC w/ Pikmin 3 and MK8, and a season pass, even if they aren't calling it that, w/ Hyrule Warriors. And the DDP promotion that offers 10% back expires in 80 days or so. I think something is probably in the works.
Chariot has a review up on Pushsquare, PS4 version, 8/10.

Turns out I won 2 other Frima games, Space Shooter for $2 and Young Thor, I knew that refrigerator head logo looked familiar. They were both pretty good as well.
Been waiting for Chariot, don't want to get it for PS3, don't have an Xbox One yet and that won't be my primary Indie machine anyway. Seriously can't wait to get it for Wii U.
@sinalefa How it works is those paying a subscription, say, $50 per yr for example, get a couple "free" games every month. Nintendo would offer contracts to devs to include their games in the sub plan. So devs looking to play it safe would settle out with Nintendo for a set amount, and that income would replace whatever amount they may have gotten from those potential customers if selling the game outright and no one getting it in the subscription plan. Of course, some people would still buy it (mostly those who don't have a sub and didn't get it for free), but obviously anyone with a subscription is probably not going to buy the game when they can play it for free as long as they are subscribed.
This type of set up usually benefits developers when the game is average or is isn't going to sell that well, because they get a guaranteed set dollar amount for their game from Nintendo to include it as a free game for that month. That dollar amount is probably a decent conservative amount, but if they're worried about their game tanking this is a good way to hedge their bets. On the contrary, including a game for free that is really good could damage the developer's potential income, because they likely would have made much more selling the game then their percentage cut for including it free. Which is why a lot of free games are mediocre. As long as the platform manufacturer seeks out one decent to good game per month, they can get by with a few other cheap extra games. I imagine they would offer a larger settled dollar amount depending on how good the game is and it's price range and anticipated sales. The better the game, the bigger the draw it would bring to subscription plans, but the larger the potential sales the developer would be forfeiting.
So nice to see Double Fine finally coming to Nintendo platforms.
Been expecting this since the years old pictures of Tim Schafer playing World of Goo with his kid.
I remember seeing beatbuddy on Steam! I love the soundtrack so I could definitely commit to that at some point.
