Re: Capcom Announces New Digital Showcase Featuring Monster Hunter Stories And More

Diogmites

Huge Capcom fan but not really interested in any of this at the moment. Not that i think any of it looks particularly bad. Imma type a bunch more stuff.
I might replay the first MH Stories but i don’t really need to know anything about the Remaster to make that decision.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will have to be a near-unfathomably vast improvement over the original for me to even think about wanting to think about playing it.
I still haven’t jumped into Street Fighter 6 yet. I just have too many other fighting games i’m still playing.
ExoPrimal. I probably need a new gpu, but will get to this one someday. Why couldn’t you just give us a new Dino Crisis?
Kinitsu Gami: i still haven’t played Okami or Shinsekai.
Where’s MegaMan 3 Remake? Where’s Monster Hunter Stories 3? Where’s all the old Marvel versus titles!? Where’s more Monster Hunter spinoffs!? Where’s Speed Rumbler 2: Just like the first but a lil better!? Where’s a new DarkStalkers!? Where’s Resident Evil: Revelations 3!?
Where’s my Capcom, Capcom?
You guys are rich now. Go get another deal with SNK and do CvS3 already.
Geeeez.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 24th)

Switch: What’s with all the platforming in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel ? I don’t like platforming in my fps’s.. unless it’s Turok, cuz that had a sweet map to help place jumps.
Pocket Card Jockey - Who knew the only thing holding solitaire back was its lack of cute lil horsies? You know in Dragonball Z when dude’s hairs turn yellow and then they just beat the hell out of everyone? Solitaire’s lil horsies are like Goku’s yellow hairs.
Killer Instinct - We had quite a few impromptu tournaments of this on SNES back in the day. So much so that seeing double does not hinder my play.
R.C.. Pro-Am - vroom vroom
PC: Having beat Dead Space 3 last weekend i am going through Dead Space 2 again, which checking my last save files i haven’t beaten since 2016. 2 is my fave.
Table: More DnD! Partner heading into an abandon mine to retrieve a Stone Giant’s teddy bear.. just a dungeon crawl. Also, we are having a family gathering to celebrate a birthday, and i have to play Ticket to Ride. I freaking hate TtR. Why can’t i have a cool family that plays Pandemic or Twilight Imperium or even Everdell? Curse my lineage!

Re: Nintendo Direct February 2024: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Diogmites

Man, i haven’t seen the Direct yet, as i just got home, came straight here, saw this poll, and i am pleased. Pretty rare that the amount of selections we are limited to on the poll is a hindrance to me.
Grounded - my most wanted. I am almost excited to be disappointed with how bad it will probably run.
Pocket Card Jockey - Let’s freaking go. I remember Gavin dropping a paragraph or two about how we needed more PCJ last year and here it is. Loved the original and this is day one for me.
Star Wars Battlefront Yeah. Perfect choice for a multiplayer online 3p shooter on the Switch. Had a lot fun with this years back and excited to jump in again.
Monster Hunter Stories - i was sure a new MHS was getting announced. Kind of bummed it’s not a new game, but i did like the first more than the second, so i’m still hyped. Wonder if they’ll re-release the amiibo.
Snufkin:MoM - My partner is gonna go bananas as she has been waiting for this title forever. Just last year she got me to read a Moomin book (Moominsummer Madness) and i fell in love with the series and bought and read the rest. So i’m pretty excited too.
Alright, now to time go watch the direct.
Oh, and please pardon my gross display of enthusiasm.

Re: The Original Star Wars: Battlefront Games Are Coming To Switch

Diogmites

I was more into stuff like Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead during Battlefront’s heyday, but on the weekends when i got too tipsy to play those effectively, i would jump into Battlefront 2 and it was good times.
I don’t remember those times; that’s how i know they were good.
I’m kinda excited to play again, albeit with a clearer head.
Hope to see some of you on the field.

Re: It Looks Like Gold And Silver Will Feature In The Next 'Pokémon Presents'

Diogmites

If they announce another Let’s Go, i’ll freak out. Pokemon Yellow was my favorite Pokemon and LG Pikachu supplanted it.
I wouldn’t mind if they did a chibi remake ala Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
I never played HeartGold and SoulSilver. But everyone else has, so i think a Let’s Go would be more likely.
Damnit, why did Let’s Go enter the conversation, now i have hope.
Hope sucks.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?

Diogmites

Pocket Card Jockey would be all it would take for me to assess the upcoming Direct positively.
Digressing a bit, Jim reminds me i need to try Sparks of Hope at some point. It’s in a genre i have fallen out of love with, but i grabbed it dirt cheap and keep forgetting it’s in my backlog. Too bad Starlink kinda bombed. I really enjoyed that game and would have liked to see a sequel without the terribly integrated toy line.
I don’t care about Hi Fi Rush at all, but from “Uncle Phil” (why are we calling him that?) i would love to see Grounded , but only if it they could get it to run smoothly, which i doubt so maybe i should just be hoping to see that on Son of Switch.
Digressing again, and i know this isn’t an indie direct, but how come Teleglitch never made it over? Speaking of other indies, where’s Gunfire Reborn?
Shooting for the moon, i would most love to see a Dead Space collection.
Oh yeah, and Castlevania DS Collection and/or Dark Souls 2 would also be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hands On: We've Played Princess Peach: Showtime! - Is It Any Good?

Diogmites

@Savage_Joe Oh yeah, i haven’t been monitoring much video game news for close to a year now (until recently) and i rarely bother paying attention to the stuff Nintendo puts out, apart from Pokemon.
Regarding me being an idiot: Oh yeah, i forgot about Samus. Kinda weird since Metroid was my favorite Nintendo franchise for awhile, but since she’s almost always in full armour in her own games, i just don’t think of her as a strong female presence. I will rectify my mistake.

Edited- Added a parenthetical for clarity

Re: Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase February 2024 - Time, Where To Watch, What To Expect

Diogmites

@Serpenterror For sure!
I have a PC but i bought a Switch just for Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate and lucky me, i have enjoyed an enormous number of titles on it that weren’t First Party(and a few that were) some even lesser (or greater) versions of their counterparts on PC that i had previously played repeatedly.
I wish i had a steam deck, but it’s not in the chips right now.

Re: Back Page: The Best Cows On The Nintendo Switch

Diogmites

While i loathe to bring up a game that was originally created by a company that was, not so long ago involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit, i feel the most infamous of all cows (in video games) are the cows in Diablo 2.
The hidden cow level is populated by a swarm of bloodthirsty bovines, wielding halberds, led by a cow patriarch (yeah, i know), all hell-bent on the player’s demise.
The level exists in the Switch version, Diablo 2: Resurrected.
But yeah, Blizzard sucks.
I really like the Moo Moo Meadows music.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 17th)

Diogmites

Switch: Having finished Borderlands 3, i decided to beat Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel, as i have never done so. It’s the only borderlands game i’ve played, but haven’t finished. I’m already further than i was before. I really hate the sensation of floating, and in a game with a lot of Zero G environments, there’s a lot of that. I prefer to plummet, gaining speed as i fall, then slamming down to ground as my foes scatter before me. You can do that in the game, but i need to look out for my character’s ankles. She’s gonna feel that at 60.
Also, trying to get my partner to jump back into Minecraft but she seems dead set on doing some event in the horrificly bad, Palia. I suffer in silence, yes, i do.
PC: Bought Star Wars Squadrons for two clams on PC and while it looks the part, it’s boring. Like, mid-play i decided to get up and wash my walls. Not wanting to go back to that(the game, not the walls; they sparkle!), i decided to bust through Dead Space 3 again. Yes, it is the least of that franchise but i still enjoy it. The gonzo crafting system, varied locales and mobs of mixed mobs all contribute to my positive assessment of DS3.
The table: More DnD! I’ve got my partner investigating a cult that has been recruiting gnomes from a small mining village and turning them into zombies.

Re: Random: It's Been Five Long Years Since Hollow Knight: Silksong Was Officially Announced

Diogmites

They should have sold the ip to Activision or EA or even Disney. We would be on Hollow Knight 6 now and would also have several mobile games and probably a few spinoffs.
All the Hollow Knight fans would get a full 8 hours every night just knowing they could play as The Knight in Fortnight.
And we’d all be pleasantly sick of the franchise and be talking about the good ole days when it was handled by a small team who wasn’t hell bent on booty calling our wallets every chance they got.
Learn how to manage an IP, Team Cherry. This is the future. Integrity is for the weak.

Re: Soapbox: I Hated Metroid: Zero Mission At First, Until I Loved It

Diogmites

Zero Mission is my second favorite Metroid game.
The fact that the original Metroid solidified my love of console gaming has a lot to do with why i love Zero Mission so much.
I think Link to the Past is a much better iteration on a previously released title but i really despised the first Zelda so there was more to improve. OG Zelda had me wondering if console gaming was for me.
Metroid convinced me that it was. But the game is pretty rocky by modern standards, and Zero Mission is where i will always point people to go if they wish to experience the Metroid before Super.

Re: Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games

Diogmites

Man, Animal Crossing at number 2… pretty good for a series that was once considered niche.
The pandemic did wonders for the Switch itself as well as that IP.
I wonder if there is a possibility we’ll see an Animal Crossing as a launch title for the next Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 3rd)

Diogmites

Borderlands 3 for me this weekend. Almost done. The performance tanks in the latter half of the game with glitches, bugs and crashes abound. I was enjoying it at first, but now it’s just painful. I’ll finish it, though.
A few months ago i bought a bunch of DnD books on the cheap, so after a 25 year hiatus, i am DMing again. Be doing that too.
I picked up Iceborne on PC and am near the end now. I’ve been enjoying it more than the base Monster Hunter World (which i detest) , but even with the expansion, it’s still my least favorite MH game.
