Dagnabit all, i forgot to play that new Prince of Persia game. Into the backlog it goes to be forever forgotten.
I did play a silly and well animated lil point-and-click titled, Later Alligator. I’ll finish that this weekend as well as Order of Ecclesia in the Dominus Collection. Moonstone Island got a surprise update yesterday, just in time for the holidays!
I picked up Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy and will be starting that over the break.
I have been playing the new Pokemon TCG. The card art is fun.
Safe travels to Kate and happy holidays to her and all my other pals here!
My most hours on Switch(this year) are:
Moonstone Island - also my goty
Borderlands 3 - not a great port
Eschatos - great shmup
On PC i’m guessing my most played games are Killing Floor 2, Devil Blade Reboot and Marvel vs Capcom Collection.
I played a lot less video games than i normally do this year, thanks to some busy spells, medical stuff and DnD.
Picked up Animal Well and will be playing that. Got my physical copy of Marvel vs Capcom Collection. I finished Portrait of Ruin, the best of the d’vainias after taking a break upon completing Dawn of Sorrow. I am excited to start Order of Ecclesia.
In November, i took a month long hiatus from video games, part of which was afforded to me by an epic puppysitting stint.
That poppeh lives for walks. She’s like a fuzzy postal worker; nor rain nor sleet nor snow…
I only denied her a jaunt when it was well below freezing. But we still trekked in the face of unscrupulous conditions. There was this lady, who, whenever the weather was less than sublime, would appear on a second story apartment balcony and tell me it was too cold/rainy/snowy to walk a dog. My kingdom for a molotov!
Been playing DnD and, oh yeah, i bought Sonic X Shadow Generations at a reasonable price, but won’t start it for awhile. Moonstone Island got a couple of updates recently. It’s been some time since i’ve played it(can you believe it?) so i should check in.
Note- Forgot to mention Vampire Survivors -Ode to Castlevania
One time a wood tick nestled its way into my upper bum crevasse. I heated a piece of metal to scarlet and stood, bent over, with neck craned and butt facing a mirror as i attempted to burn the parasitic arachnid, in hopes that it would detach.
I burnt myself* several times.
I feel that because of that experience, i have some idea what it was like for Kate to play the Switch version of this game.
I won’t be trying this game out, though i wish i could take a gander at that manual.
Thanks for the review , Kate!
*myself in this instance refers specifically to my bum
This is helpful. There was a couple i forgot to rate. My top 5, for kicks:
GOTY: Moonstone Island (NS)
2. Core Keeper (NS)
3. Devil Blade Reboot (PC)
4. Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection (NS & PC)
5. Castlevania Dominus Collection (NS)
I was planning on playing Sonic x Shadow Generations, especially after reading Ollie’s review, but then Core Keeper was brought to my attention via Mitch’s review, and it being a co-op survival with lovely 2d graphics, not to mentioned the praise lavished upon it by Mr. Vogel, made it about as ineluctable as could be. We were able to find time yesterday to delve in and delve we did. We love it!
I bought The Bunny Graveyard and will be checkin that out as well.
I still plan on picking up Generations, probably during my upcoming epic house/dig-sitting stint. I want a physical copy, so i’ll prolly swing by a local store to procure it.
Also, there will be a Final Fantasy themed Magic set releasing next year and i want Tonberries.
I hope Fishy is having a swell vacation.
Take care all!
Had a late night airport pickup last night and i’m flat-out bushed.
Ended up playing very little last week as i was also dogsitting as well as housesitting, and my fuzzy charge demanded a greater deal of my attention than i had anticipated.
I did play about 15 minutes of Killing Time:Remastered and the visual upgrade is awesome. I am so excited to get into it this weekend, and will be starting later today.
I was going to beat the last temple in Moonstone Island, but i got the Eerie items pack cuz i got that urge to decorate, perhaps brought on by the looming holiday.
The only thing i managed to play last week was a couple of ACA Neo Geo games: Crossed Swords and Nam 1975. Old favorites.
Take care and game well!
@Teksetter Long load times really hurt when one is waiting to play a less than stellar experience! Shredder’s Revenge was so good. It was the first modern beat-em up i played and it sits up there with classics like Streets of Rage 2 and Capcom’s DnD outings, Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara for me.
I played it until i got all the achievements i could... Anyways, it sucks Mutants Unleashed doesn’t live up to some of the great Turtles games we’ve been graced with lately!
@FishyS You’re welcome! There’s a 25% off sale now, but maybe you are waiting for an even sweeter sale which i totally understand! I hope you love it if and when you get to it!
@Yalloo I appreciate your comments as well! I know there’s nothing sexual, i was just being silly and a little flippant, largely for my own amusement. I meant no actual disrespect and i’m sorry if any was inflicted. You’re welcome for the wishes! Yeah, “never” means nothing, really. And i promise if i ever find myself in a positive transfer of energy between me and a well-meaning professional, you’ll be the first to hear about it!
@Yalloo Ah, lol no thank you for the full body massage. I’d rather be set on fire, kicked off a cliff, and used as target practice for javeliniers.
I do respect your dedication and passion for your profession, and i understand there are people who like being groped by strangers. I’m ,of course, not one of these people and never will be.
I hope you have a happy career with happy clients, though!
@Teksetter I do recall tingling! Also i recall the lump of coal that i keep in my sphincter had turned into a diamond. It was an experience!
It’s cool you had the benefit of a trusted individual to guide you through your first go.
I didn’t go to Japan for many reasons including some you mentioned. I’m sure i will get a souvenir. Her family is from there and they go annually! I will join her one of these years.
@Teksetter Thank you!
I had never had one before and initially thought she was desperate for a large tip. I was quite uncomfortable. It didn’t help that she had her own room as it exacerbated the intimacy.
Otherwise, she was great and i’ll probably go back, but might have to politely decline all the noggin play.
Thank you for the well wishes and i wish you luck in finishing Grounded and i hope the new Turtles game is fun!
Yusss. Time to kill some time in Killing Time:Remastered. Let’s get weird. And i do got time to kill as this week i am on housesitting duty.
After this stint, i will only have a week back at my beloved and cosy lair, after which i’ll be housesitting for 21 grueling days. They’re going to Chile. I wish i had copies of Zenoclash and Abyss Odyssey to send with to be signed. Two games that should be on Switch.
I had my hairs cut yesterday. It was a new lady and in post, i thought i had been violated, but after a trip to google, i realized scalp massages are a common thing.
I’m trying to get back to spring in Moonstone Island so that i can participate in the Spring Festival. I’m always playing that game. This is known.
I’m very excited for Kate’s new project and am heartened to know she’s enjoying Hello Kitty’s Island Adventure as i have high hopes for that game.
I still need to play Peglin. Maybe later this week.
My partner is in Japan with her mom. I’m always a wreck until she touches down but she arrived safe and unharmed, so that is good.
That’s enough drivel for this week.
Take care and game well!
Gonna check out Blazing Strike after reading Tom’s review, and i’m excited to try out Killing Time:Resurrected after so many years. Ollie’s review has me excited.
“Hey, who you calling program, program?” I saw Tron in the theaters when i was lil too, and Legacy was a fun sequel. I’ll be happy if this turns out to be good.
My modem took a dive this week and on the exact same day that Moonstone Island’s update went live. I was on cell data for a couple days while i replaced it.
I got a mushroom barn now though, so all is right.
Besides Moonstone Island and UFO 50, i haven’t been doing much video gaming.
UFO50 is sweet. I don’t see it boppin’ Moonstone from its podium, but it will for sure rank somewhere in my top 5 of the year. Devil Blade Reboot and Marvel vs Capcom Collection are a couple other favorites.
Mostly though, it’s been DnD.
I bought some cute, pink dice with lil charm bunniez in them. Unfortunately, they are weighted wrong, and a few turn up with the same results nearly every time. The d20 comes up 16. These could be a DM’s tool (heh) or play-aid, or maybe i will make a magic item with limited charges that makes use of the dice. I just wana use ‘em. Cuz bunniez.
That’s me for this week, take care and game well!
(PS Might check out Kill Knight)
I bought a Ouija board and contacted Toriyama sama and he said that anyone who who claims this minor alteration to his work is censorship and uses this as a springboard to deny an oppressed group rights is “a massive d-bag”.
Nah, jk! Actually, i bought UFO 50 on PC last week and i hope to set into it. I’m excited. Of course, i will find time for Moonstone Island. The M.I. Twitter account ran a giveaway(that ends today), and as part of the entry criteria one had to post a spirit design. I had fun posting a couple designs, and really enjoyed reading all the other fan’s descriptions and looking at their illustrations and pixel art.
Finally, i will be getting some DnD played today. I’ve got work to do for that.
Take care all and game well!
An enjoyable read!
I played dkc when it was released, and, at the time, wondered if it would rekindle my lapsed love of platformers.
Sure, it dazzled the eye and the music was whatever, but i was back to running through aLttP and topping my times in Super Punch Out! before the weekend rental period expired.
I only completed it once more, maybe a decade ago or so. It hit the same.
@RubyCarbuncle Gunfire Reborn is sweet! At one point a Switch version was in the works, but i haven’t heard tell of that in years. Hopefully, we’ll get it on the Switch2. Hope your work goes well, and i dig the new avatar!
Yesterday was Moonstone Island’s birthday so i’ll be playing that. A big free update is in the works and set to release on the 30th, and it is hotly anticipated in the Diogmites’ household. I am still searching for the Winter temple, and hitting some of the higher level dungeons i missed.
I didn’t really play much this past week as again, i had a busy week punctuated by our annual apartment building inspection. So i had to spiffy up the ‘ole lair and it looks positively spanking, if i do say so myself.
Take care of yourselves and game well!
I am suffering from considerable lack of sleep and am feeling taciturn.
I am just going to furrow my brow, jut my lower lip, cross my arms and grumble all weekend.
Finished Dawn of Sorrow and will start Portrait of Ruin (my fave) soon. Searching for the last temple in Moonstone Island.
Playing lots of Magic: the Gathering Arena , Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Warhammer 40k Inquisitor: Martyr on steam.
Some other stuff.
I hope Kate has a safe and happy holiday and Teksetter gets her freezer squared away.
Take care and game well.
I’ve been absurdly busy lately, but i have managed to make it through most of Dawn of Sorrow in the Dominus Collection. A lot of fortuitous soul drops this time around. I got the Witch soul first bop! The eyeball guy(which i always get first chance) dropped after just a few attempts too.. and some others. Anyways, just beat Bat Company, so i’ll finish the game this weekend and move on to Portrait.
I decided to spend some time spiffying up my yard in Moonstone Island. I really love Widdle Walls. They are the only walls i use. They’re just babies, ya know?
My friend’s partner is going to climb Kilimanjaro, so he has some time to himself, and he’s an old friend so we’re gonna be doing some serious co-op over the next couple of weeks. As time permits, of course. I’ll let him plot the course so i imagine we’ll be trimming our way through thickets of foes in some arpg and probably a little Darktide. I picked up a new 3d card on the cheap.
Oh, i bought The Boy and the Heron and finally gonna watch it.
Take care and game well!
