@horizonisland No they don't. They don't own 100% of Pokémon and they can't tell an independently owned company like Game Freak what to do.

@nocdaes That's never going to happen unless one of the parties leaves the partnership and I don't see Game Freak walking away from their cash cow. Nintendo has no say in the mainline Pokémon games and is nothing more than a glorified publisher in these instances.
