Re: Mario Kart Tour Has A Paid Subscription Service For Bonus In-Game Rewards

DarthFoxMcCloud

LOL definitely not. If I won't subscribe to Apple Arcade at only $5.99/mo Canadian even though it comes with a lot of games for that price and with even more on the way, then why would I pay even more in subscription fees for just one mobile game. I mean, Mario Kart is great but not that great especially when I have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch which is a MUCH better single and multiplayer karting experience!

Re: Mario Kart Tour Will Get Multiplayer Mode In Future Update

DarthFoxMcCloud

It's just another free-to-start game. Like Pocket Camp, it'll be good for a couple minutes play here and there, especially on the morning transit commute. But for people complaining about this game, there's an easy remedy....don't play it. Instead, play the impeccable Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch (also on your morning commute)!

Re: The File Size Of Luigi's Mansion 3 Isn't As Scary As You Probably Thought

DarthFoxMcCloud

@mcpedwards All I was saying is when you use a voucher, you won't get any Gold Coins for using it towards a game. You only get the Gold Coins for the act of purchasing the vouchers. So you wouldn't have received any gold coins for using the voucher to get Link's Awakening. You can see for yourself in My Nintendo (and if you did receive any, that means Nintendo screwed me when I got Super Mario Maker 2). I'm in North America and I know all too well as well the sadness of not being able to buy anymore vouchers. I'm saving my last one for Animal Crossing New Horizons in March.

Re: Poll: How Would You Like To See Dreamcast Classics Arrive On Switch?

DarthFoxMcCloud

It'll never happen, but it would be pretty cool if Sega and Nintendo entered a partnership to have Sega games (including Dreamcast titles) be put on the Switch similar to the NES and SNES apps for Switch Online subscribers. But in lieu of that happening, because let's be honest...it won't, I'd like to see a collection released but give a developer like M2 enough time to put the necessary spit and polish on it.

Re: The First Three Dragon Quest Games Will Be Released On The Switch eShop In Japan

DarthFoxMcCloud

Just like how I don't want to play Chrono Trigger on my phone & hope that it gets released as part of the SNES games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, so too do I hope that these 3 games will come to the West in English on the Switch eShop. Touchscreen gaming is fine for stuff like Pokemon GO, but NOT for epic RPGs or serious gaming. Since these already exist in English, porting over to the West would be easy for Square Enix & Nintendo to do. Heck, they could even release a limited edition physical game card with all 3 games on one card, or go simple and just release them digitally. Point is, gamers over here want the love too!

Re: There's A Gold Shovel Knight amiibo, And Fans Are Already Pre-Ordering It From GameStop

DarthFoxMcCloud

Hey @Liam_Doolan, Canada is part of North America. We don't have GameStop. We have EB Games Canada & while the two companies are the same, EB doesn't have the same stock or promotions that the U.S. Gamestop has (case in point, GameStop still has the Loot Goblin amiibo in stock but good luck getting it through EB Games Canada). I'm pretty sick and tired of this website lumping all of North America together when you clearly are just referring to the U.S. We are different countries. It would be like if there was a Canadian gaming site that said something was available in Germany but said all of Europe, thereby giving false hope to those living in the U.K. (which Brexit aside is still a part of Europe). So how about you do your Commonwealth family a favour and be specific when you cover stories on this side of the Atlantic.

Re: Poll: Have You Played The Dragon Quest XI S Demo On Nintendo Switch Yet?

DarthFoxMcCloud

Haven't gotten around to playing the demo yet, I'm still working on Fire Emblem Three Houses. I've never played a Dragon Quest game yet so I'm hoping this is a good introduction to the franchise for me. I've always wanted to play it, I love JRPGs but I have so many on the go all the time that I never got around to them on 3DS or Playstation. Hopefully given my addiction to Switch, I'll play this no problem. I do wish other developers would make demos that transferred over save data for other games, I love it when we gamers get that chance.

Re: Nintendo Removing Credit Card Support From 3DS And Wii U eShop In Europe

DarthFoxMcCloud

At least standard eShop gift cards you can get at any store will still work to top up 3DS and Wii U eShop cards. That said I feel like the Wii Shop on the original Wii had a longer stay of execution than what the 3DS and Wii U have been given. I wonder if this is the preamble to a quick termination of all eShop functionality for the two systems sooner rather than later?

Re: Epic Games Opens New Studio With Factor 5 Founders At The Helm

DarthFoxMcCloud

I wish that Wii Rogue Squadron compilation game that was never released (but allegedly finished) would find a release on Switch. The GameCube Rogue Squadron games still hold up incredibly well and graphically rival even modern games. The version that was made (and cancelled) for Wii would fit perfectly on the Switch. Give me Star Wars!!!!

Re: Soapbox: To Me, Mario Maker 2 Is Nintendo's Best, And Most Disappointing, Sequel Ever

DarthFoxMcCloud

I still can't believe that bookmarking website hasn't been tied to the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app. I could have sworn that was announced by Nintendo as coming before the game even launched and yet, nothing. I thought we would be able to search for courses and see those of Creators we follow and then have a Download button that would push the courses to our game in the background while the Switch was asleep and connected to Wifi. Why this wasn't a Day 1 thing I do not understand.

Re: Doraemon Story Of Seasons Harvests An October Release On Switch

DarthFoxMcCloud

@Magician I love Stardew Valley and I still return to it but I've pretty much gotten all I can out of it at this point. Kind of wish the seasonal events had some randomness to them but the conversations are all the same and I have received all of the items you can from them. Right now all I have left to do is earn enough money for that clock that stops damage from happening on your farm. But I just wish there was a bit more content to keep me excited about the slog.

Re: New Purple/Orange And Blue/Yellow Joy-Con Now Available To Pre-Order In The UK

DarthFoxMcCloud

@Mr_Persona Well like I said my hubby bought me these but the seller had photos on their page and honestly, these Joy Con have lasted me longer than any of the ones I bought direct from Nintendo. These are official Joy Con too, all official parts on the inside (it's just the buttons and the shell that aren't). But while I've received Joy Con Drift issues with every pair I've ever bought, these ones have never had an issue (*knock on wood).

Re: New Purple/Orange And Blue/Yellow Joy-Con Now Available To Pre-Order In The UK

DarthFoxMcCloud

@Bunkerneath OMG I would love see-through Joy Con! My husband actually got me see-through orange Joy Con from a shop on Etsy for my birthday last December. They're standard Joy Con but with a customized shell and Super Famicom colour buttons for the directional buttons and the ABXY buttons. They're my favourite! He also used a Windows program to make the Joy Con come up as orange when you snap them on the Switch (and display as orange on the battery screen)! Definitely recommend doing this kind of thing until Nintendo releases their own transparent shells!

Re: Hello Games Founder Sean Murray Shows Interest In No Man's Sky Switch Port

DarthFoxMcCloud

I feel like this game would work on Nintendo Switch. I know it's a smaller experience but Starlink kind of proved something like this is feasible. The seamless transition from space to planetary exploration is possible with very little load times if and when needed. I'm not saying No Man's Sky wouldn't need optimization for the system but if this guy put his money where his mouth is, it could be possible.

Re: The Switch Online Mobile App Just Received Another Incredibly Minor Update

DarthFoxMcCloud

Wasn't Nintendo supposed to add some sort of service for Mario Maker 2 in this app? I could have sworn we were supposed to get something that allowed us to search on our phones different courses through Course World and then download them to our consoles remotely (especially helpful if you're at work, come across a cool course on YouTube and want to play it for yourself...something I've done several times). I seriously could have sworn this was a thing that was discussed prior to the game's release but I've seen nothing about it since.
