@Savlep99 Me too, and while that was awesome, it was pretty small and they didn't have everything. Would have been nice if they had a whole store, even if it was just a temporary pop-up which this kiosk was. I believe it closes early November.
I don't have a means to connect my N64 to my new televisions so this will be a pass for me. Too bad this didn't receive the same treatment as Jedi Outcast for a digital re-release on Nintendo Switch. In fact I'd love it if all of the Star Wars games that originally released on Nintendo hardware would get digital re-releases on Switch. Yes please!!!!
I'm happy I've not spent any money on this. I did sign up for the Gold Subscription but just to get the 2 free weeks. After that, I'm cancelling the subscription so I don't get charged. I only did it to help me get enough stars to grab Yoshi before the New York Tour ended last week.
Um, I'd like an apology and assurances that Canada will receive more too. UGH, Nintendo has no problems taking our money but they have no freakin' clue we exist.
Now the North American site doesn't even have a purchase button or even a notification that the controller is sold out. It's just a photo, no mention of coming soon or temporary out of stock. So it looks like we're out of luck. Guess they only made about 5 units for this region because it sold out faster than an NES Classic.
I'm so psyched for this game. I think I do need to finish the game in 3D mode though, especially since it seems like I can "marry" Erik by the end of the game & I feel like 3D mode will make for better social media images, HAHA! But I will totally be playing the game a second time solely on 2D mode!
Gonna be redeeming those My Nintendo gold coins that are set to expire at the end of this month to put towards this game! Means I have to purchase a digital version but that's ok, I can swap between this digitally and a physical Link's Awakening without having to remove its cartridge!
LOL definitely not. If I won't subscribe to Apple Arcade at only $5.99/mo Canadian even though it comes with a lot of games for that price and with even more on the way, then why would I pay even more in subscription fees for just one mobile game. I mean, Mario Kart is great but not that great especially when I have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch which is a MUCH better single and multiplayer karting experience!
It's just another free-to-start game. Like Pocket Camp, it'll be good for a couple minutes play here and there, especially on the morning transit commute. But for people complaining about this game, there's an easy remedy....don't play it. Instead, play the impeccable Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch (also on your morning commute)!
@mcpedwards All I was saying is when you use a voucher, you won't get any Gold Coins for using it towards a game. You only get the Gold Coins for the act of purchasing the vouchers. So you wouldn't have received any gold coins for using the voucher to get Link's Awakening. You can see for yourself in My Nintendo (and if you did receive any, that means Nintendo screwed me when I got Super Mario Maker 2). I'm in North America and I know all too well as well the sadness of not being able to buy anymore vouchers. I'm saving my last one for Animal Crossing New Horizons in March.
@mcpedwards You likely won't. While it wasn't eligible for a bonus, I bought Super Mario Maker 2 with a voucher and didn't receive any Gold Coins for that purchase, I only got the Gold Coins for buying the vouchers. If you want the 600 Gold Coins for Luigi's Mansion 3, you'll need to use eShop credit, not the vouchers.
Definitely getting Link's Awakening Dreamer Edition from Best Buy, and I will be downloading Jedi Outcast. That was a really nice surprise from the last Nintendo Direct!
Since I'm buying Dragon Quest XI off the eShop, I might as well get these digitally as well! Just glad this collection is getting a western release as well!
It'll never happen, but it would be pretty cool if Sega and Nintendo entered a partnership to have Sega games (including Dreamcast titles) be put on the Switch similar to the NES and SNES apps for Switch Online subscribers. But in lieu of that happening, because let's be honest...it won't, I'd like to see a collection released but give a developer like M2 enough time to put the necessary spit and polish on it.
@Sakura7 Keep your originals, always keep your originals. You never know what it'll be worth some day as long as you keep them in good working order!!!
I have way too many games on my docket, and they're all Switch. I might get this game after it goes on sale, either physically or digitally. But after seeing the latest Nintendo Direct, I'll have even more games sitting in my "to play" bucket.
I guess it's a good thing I have a modded SNES Classic with a near-complete SNES library loaded on to it! I'm pretty sure this article is saying we might get 1 or 2 games for each service every 6 months or so if the Wii U & 3DS Virtual Console release schedule is anything to go by. Sigh.
Just like how I don't want to play Chrono Trigger on my phone & hope that it gets released as part of the SNES games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, so too do I hope that these 3 games will come to the West in English on the Switch eShop. Touchscreen gaming is fine for stuff like Pokemon GO, but NOT for epic RPGs or serious gaming. Since these already exist in English, porting over to the West would be easy for Square Enix & Nintendo to do. Heck, they could even release a limited edition physical game card with all 3 games on one card, or go simple and just release them digitally. Point is, gamers over here want the love too!
Hey @Liam_Doolan, Canada is part of North America. We don't have GameStop. We have EB Games Canada & while the two companies are the same, EB doesn't have the same stock or promotions that the U.S. Gamestop has (case in point, GameStop still has the Loot Goblin amiibo in stock but good luck getting it through EB Games Canada). I'm pretty sick and tired of this website lumping all of North America together when you clearly are just referring to the U.S. We are different countries. It would be like if there was a Canadian gaming site that said something was available in Germany but said all of Europe, thereby giving false hope to those living in the U.K. (which Brexit aside is still a part of Europe). So how about you do your Commonwealth family a favour and be specific when you cover stories on this side of the Atlantic.
Didn't even know this was getting a collector's edition. But then again, I live in Canada and Nintendo has decided to omit any and all limited editions from the North American region. Apparently we are meant to import these from other places, further diminishing the already scant supply.
Haven't gotten around to playing the demo yet, I'm still working on Fire Emblem Three Houses. I've never played a Dragon Quest game yet so I'm hoping this is a good introduction to the franchise for me. I've always wanted to play it, I love JRPGs but I have so many on the go all the time that I never got around to them on 3DS or Playstation. Hopefully given my addiction to Switch, I'll play this no problem. I do wish other developers would make demos that transferred over save data for other games, I love it when we gamers get that chance.
At least standard eShop gift cards you can get at any store will still work to top up 3DS and Wii U eShop cards. That said I feel like the Wii Shop on the original Wii had a longer stay of execution than what the 3DS and Wii U have been given. I wonder if this is the preamble to a quick termination of all eShop functionality for the two systems sooner rather than later?
I wish that Wii Rogue Squadron compilation game that was never released (but allegedly finished) would find a release on Switch. The GameCube Rogue Squadron games still hold up incredibly well and graphically rival even modern games. The version that was made (and cancelled) for Wii would fit perfectly on the Switch. Give me Star Wars!!!!
I still can't believe that bookmarking website hasn't been tied to the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app. I could have sworn that was announced by Nintendo as coming before the game even launched and yet, nothing. I thought we would be able to search for courses and see those of Creators we follow and then have a Download button that would push the courses to our game in the background while the Switch was asleep and connected to Wifi. Why this wasn't a Day 1 thing I do not understand.
@Magician I love Stardew Valley and I still return to it but I've pretty much gotten all I can out of it at this point. Kind of wish the seasonal events had some randomness to them but the conversations are all the same and I have received all of the items you can from them. Right now all I have left to do is earn enough money for that clock that stops damage from happening on your farm. But I just wish there was a bit more content to keep me excited about the slog.
@Mr_Persona Well like I said my hubby bought me these but the seller had photos on their page and honestly, these Joy Con have lasted me longer than any of the ones I bought direct from Nintendo. These are official Joy Con too, all official parts on the inside (it's just the buttons and the shell that aren't). But while I've received Joy Con Drift issues with every pair I've ever bought, these ones have never had an issue (*knock on wood).
@Bunkerneath OMG I would love see-through Joy Con! My husband actually got me see-through orange Joy Con from a shop on Etsy for my birthday last December. They're standard Joy Con but with a customized shell and Super Famicom colour buttons for the directional buttons and the ABXY buttons. They're my favourite! He also used a Windows program to make the Joy Con come up as orange when you snap them on the Switch (and display as orange on the battery screen)! Definitely recommend doing this kind of thing until Nintendo releases their own transparent shells!
I ended up preordering the purple/orange Joy Con....They just look like Fall to me, which is my favourite season!!! So I put in a preorder on Amazon Canada.
I feel like this game would work on Nintendo Switch. I know it's a smaller experience but Starlink kind of proved something like this is feasible. The seamless transition from space to planetary exploration is possible with very little load times if and when needed. I'm not saying No Man's Sky wouldn't need optimization for the system but if this guy put his money where his mouth is, it could be possible.
Really hope this gets a North American demo release. I know I could just make another account for Japan or Europe but it's the principle. I'm sick of North America getting ignored by Nintendo. Clearly Nintendo of America is dropping the ball.
So it's basically the exact same concept as the Merc Missions you send your Blades on in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I'm all for extra content, especially something like this since I always have so many extra Pokemon I'll never use just sitting in my PC Boxes. Now they'll have something to do! EDIT @DavidMac I posted my comment before I saw yours. HAHA, we thought the same thing!
Happily bought and downloaded this on my Wii U when it was first released. Still wish it would have gotten a Switch eShop re-release, since I'm barely ever on my Wii U anymore.
