Re: Video: 10 SNES Games That Should Be On The SNES Mini But Aren't

Cynas

Zombies Ate My Neighbors really should have been on the system to begin with. It's currently missing a lot of fun multiplayer titles that the SNES had, especially since it comes with 2 controllers, so more games like that would have covered a bigger variety of games. Good list! I found the one in the other article had a few too many obscure titles that not enough people would care about.

Re: Review: The Jackbox Party Pack 2 (Switch eShop)

Cynas

I own all 3 packs and it's my go-to series whenever I get together with a large group of people. I've got to say though, while it is fun this pack is definitely the worst out of the 3. I'd place them as 3 > 1 > 2. If you're new to the series and want to try out these games, I'd reccommend starting with 3 first. Trivia Murder Party is by far the best.

Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament DX (Switch)

Cynas

I'm on the fence about this one.
Mario Kart 8 got an entirely revamped battle mode, new characters, new karts, double items, extra drift burst, and some other new features.
Splatoon 2 introduced Salmon Run, new gear, a new single player mode, new specials, and new stages.
The changes in this one seems much more basic. All of the arcade characters should have been added to the Wii U version since it came out so recently, and there aren't enough other changes to make this worthwhile. I might get it in the distant future if I see it on sale.

Re: Soapbox: Playing Super Mario Sunshine Today Painfully Illustrates Nintendo's 3D Evolution

Cynas

Personally I found the controls to be perfectly fine and the camera hardly got in my way. I can respect the fact that you found them to be difficult and criticize the game for that, but to say it's "a very bad game" and not worth anyone's time is a bit much when that's the only fault you mention about the game. I was hoping to see a few more points about why you disliked the game. I understand that it's a platformer and the camera plays a major role, but it's really not significantly worse than Galaxy.

Re: SNES Classic Edition Won't Be Sold In Canadian Province Of Quebec

Cynas

@Bunkerneath I wouldn't necessarily say "way to go Canada". This is a decision solely made by Quebec. It happens with plenty of other things too, like online contests. When you look at the rules you'll most likely see "Available for US and Canadian residents (excluding Quebec)." Quebec has even tried to separate themselves from the rest of Canada and become an independent country.

Re: Persona Q2 is Confirmed for Nintendo 3DS

Cynas

I'll definitely be picking this up! I loved Persona 5 and Persona Q was a fine game. I especially loved the music in it, so hopefully it's just as catchy this time around. Personally I was hoping for Persona 5 Arena to be the first spin-off game for Persona 5, but this works too.

Re: Video: Get Warmed Up for Overcooked: Special Edition With This Switch Launch Trailer

Cynas

@OorWullie If you own Snipperclips you might be able to use that to judge whether you will have fun solo or not. Both games are focused on working together to complete a goal, so there's a lot of communication involved. This one is definitely more chaotic because of time time limit, but it's the same general idea. If you can enjoy playing Snipperclips by yourself then you'll probably enjoy playing this solo too. But the game is intended to play with another person, and in my opinion is infinitely more fun when playing couch co-op.

When playing single play I believe there's 2 control schemes. One where you press a button to switch which player you're controlling and one scheme where you use half the controller to control one character and the other half of the controller is for the other character (although I guess this wouldn't work with a single joycon). In my opinion it's a bit uncomfortable to play with either scheme, so multiplayer is the way to go.

Re: Video: Get Warmed Up for Overcooked: Special Edition With This Switch Launch Trailer

Cynas

It's such a fun game to play with a friend! I've beaten the game on PS4 with a friend and we had a blast. Be warned though, it's barely enjoyable if you're playing alone so make sure you have a buddy that can play with you. I think I might buy it on the Switch as well considering it's portable and easy for 2 people to play. If you enjoyed Snipperclips, you'll almost certainly enjoy this game too.

Re: Deals: Amazon Prime Day 2017 Round Up

Cynas

@NewAdvent To be honest the subscription is worth it if you buy video games on Amazon. It's 20% off all pre-orders on video games so even if you buy 7 or 8 games a year you'll be saving money. Prime Day is just a side bonus.

Re: New Adventure Time And Ben 10 Games Are Coming To A "Nintendo Platform"

Cynas

From what I've played The only Video Games made from Cartoons that has actually turned out really well was South Park: The Stick of Truth and presumably South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Every other one I've played has been awful or just semi-enjoyable. Even Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd You Steal Our Garbage!? And Steven Universe: Attack the Light were decent at best. Hopefully this one turns out well.

@JarJarBlacks Adventure Time: Secret of the Nameless Kingdom was heavily based on A Link to the Past. It's a top down 2D and it doesn't take place in the typical Ooo setting from the show, so it might not be what you're looking for but it could be worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet. It's not the best game ever but it might be worth your time.

Re: Review: Ever Oasis (3DS)

Cynas

I'm enjoying this game much more than I thought I would! Every issue that I had with the game was fixed with a new feature as soon as it started to get annoying. When constantly stocking stores was getting tedious, the bulk restock option got unlocked. When gardening got too time consuming, assigning gardeners was introduced. When collecting resources to keep up with store stock became too diffult, the exploration team system came along. It's really nice that the developers recognized this and knew when to introduce new features. Also the combat is really rewarding, with unlocking new combos and crafting new weapons. Not to mention the archery weapons are really fun to use. Glad I picked this up!

Re: Poll: Did the ARMS Global Testpunch Land a Knockout Blow?

Cynas

I didn't really enjoy the first 20 minutes or so that I played, but once I switched to the pro controller and learned some of the mechanics (like the character specific abilities and charging up punches) I started to love it. I think I'll have more motivation to play for longer sessions when the full game comes out too since there will be arms to unlock so I'll feel like there's a purpose to fighting. Can't wait for the 16th!

Re: Deals: Splash Your Rupees On This Amazing Legend Of Zelda Merchandise

Cynas

@SLIGEACH_EIRE The only amiibo I've seen on sale over here are the Animal Crossing ones, which makes sense since it's not a well known series and they don't do much. Other than that amiibo seem to be doing fine and get constant restocks. Personally I don't find them to be a scam either. I'm the type of person who likes to buy the Zelda Figma figurines though, so I really don't mind spending $15 on an amiibo. I couldn't care less about the functionality they have in games, that's just an added bonus.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Voting Event Crowns Its Champions

Cynas

I voted for Tharja, Henry, and Hector. The people who won are alright but pretty predictable. All of them are Smash Bros characters except for Lyn (unless you include the assist trophy), but she's still pretty iconic. It makes sense since it was a popularity vote, but it would have been nice if a lesser known character got some spotlight.
