@Nico07 Thanks for the info but I already have all the outfits unlocked/in the shops. I'm just working on saving the coins to buy the Peach and Bowser outfits now.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors really should have been on the system to begin with. It's currently missing a lot of fun multiplayer titles that the SNES had, especially since it comes with 2 controllers, so more games like that would have covered a bigger variety of games. Good list! I found the one in the other article had a few too many obscure titles that not enough people would care about.
Other than Chrono Trigger, Bomberman, and the other two Donkey Kong Country Games, I don't really care for the games on this list. I would have enjoyed Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Secret of Evermore though.
I own all 3 packs and it's my go-to series whenever I get together with a large group of people. I've got to say though, while it is fun this pack is definitely the worst out of the 3. I'd place them as 3 > 1 > 2. If you're new to the series and want to try out these games, I'd reccommend starting with 3 first. Trivia Murder Party is by far the best.
I'm on the fence about this one.
Mario Kart 8 got an entirely revamped battle mode, new characters, new karts, double items, extra drift burst, and some other new features.
Splatoon 2 introduced Salmon Run, new gear, a new single player mode, new specials, and new stages.
The changes in this one seems much more basic. All of the arcade characters should have been added to the Wii U version since it came out so recently, and there aren't enough other changes to make this worthwhile. I might get it in the distant future if I see it on sale.
Personally I found the controls to be perfectly fine and the camera hardly got in my way. I can respect the fact that you found them to be difficult and criticize the game for that, but to say it's "a very bad game" and not worth anyone's time is a bit much when that's the only fault you mention about the game. I was hoping to see a few more points about why you disliked the game. I understand that it's a platformer and the camera plays a major role, but it's really not significantly worse than Galaxy.
@Bunkerneath I wouldn't necessarily say "way to go Canada". This is a decision solely made by Quebec. It happens with plenty of other things too, like online contests. When you look at the rules you'll most likely see "Available for US and Canadian residents (excluding Quebec)." Quebec has even tried to separate themselves from the rest of Canada and become an independent country.
I bought this on PC just before it was announced for the Switch. I've been holding off on playing it so I don't get too invested into my PC file by the time the Switch version comes out. Really looking forward to this releasing on the Switch so I can play it without hesitation.
I'll definitely be picking this up! I loved Persona 5 and Persona Q was a fine game. I especially loved the music in it, so hopefully it's just as catchy this time around. Personally I was hoping for Persona 5 Arena to be the first spin-off game for Persona 5, but this works too.
I'm really hoping Henry gets added to the cast. I think they could do a lot with him involving crow attacks and dark magic. Plus I'm sure the masochistic dialogue would be hilarious.
@OorWullie If you own Snipperclips you might be able to use that to judge whether you will have fun solo or not. Both games are focused on working together to complete a goal, so there's a lot of communication involved. This one is definitely more chaotic because of time time limit, but it's the same general idea. If you can enjoy playing Snipperclips by yourself then you'll probably enjoy playing this solo too. But the game is intended to play with another person, and in my opinion is infinitely more fun when playing couch co-op.
When playing single play I believe there's 2 control schemes. One where you press a button to switch which player you're controlling and one scheme where you use half the controller to control one character and the other half of the controller is for the other character (although I guess this wouldn't work with a single joycon). In my opinion it's a bit uncomfortable to play with either scheme, so multiplayer is the way to go.
It's such a fun game to play with a friend! I've beaten the game on PS4 with a friend and we had a blast. Be warned though, it's barely enjoyable if you're playing alone so make sure you have a buddy that can play with you. I think I might buy it on the Switch as well considering it's portable and easy for 2 people to play. If you enjoyed Snipperclips, you'll almost certainly enjoy this game too.
I wonder if Yo-kai Watch 3 will be coming to North America and Europe before the 3DS completely dies. It'll be a shame if we don't get all 3 installments.
@Meowpheel I wasn't totally sure how many rights Natsume has over the series. Are they only able to call their games Harvest Moon, but if they create a game that resembles an old Harvest Moon game or use old characters they'll get sued for using copyrighted material?
I don't have high hopes for Light of Hope. I've moved onto Story of Seasons for now. You'd think they'd at least jump on the bandwagon of HD remakes and remake some of the old, more enjoyable Harvest Moon games like Friends of Mineral Town and A Wonderful Life.
@NewAdvent To be honest the subscription is worth it if you buy video games on Amazon. It's 20% off all pre-orders on video games so even if you buy 7 or 8 games a year you'll be saving money. Prime Day is just a side bonus.
From what I've played The only Video Games made from Cartoons that has actually turned out really well was South Park: The Stick of Truth and presumably South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Every other one I've played has been awful or just semi-enjoyable. Even Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd You Steal Our Garbage!? And Steven Universe: Attack the Light were decent at best. Hopefully this one turns out well.
@JarJarBlacks Adventure Time: Secret of the Nameless Kingdom was heavily based on A Link to the Past. It's a top down 2D and it doesn't take place in the typical Ooo setting from the show, so it might not be what you're looking for but it could be worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet. It's not the best game ever but it might be worth your time.
I'm excited for that Umbrella weapon. It's nice to see it won't just be different variants of existing weapons, but at least one brand new one too. Also super excited for that new boat stage!
I was hoping the Tier 5 raids would be released so we can start catching legendaries, but this is fine too. Another special hat Pikachu to add to the collection.
I'm okay with this. Considering the game focuses on the player exploring and finding little secrets, it would be annoying if dying made you loose a lot of progress. I think it's a good way to go for an open world game.
I wonder why they're so adamant on keeping the icon as it is. It really does look like some generic smartphone app. I don't see it as a big deal, but it is pretty ugly.
I'm actually really impressed by the difficulty of both Master Mode and the Trial of the Sword. It's refreshing to have to strategize while fighting again instead of being an overpowered beast.
I'm enjoying this game much more than I thought I would! Every issue that I had with the game was fixed with a new feature as soon as it started to get annoying. When constantly stocking stores was getting tedious, the bulk restock option got unlocked. When gardening got too time consuming, assigning gardeners was introduced. When collecting resources to keep up with store stock became too diffult, the exploration team system came along. It's really nice that the developers recognized this and knew when to introduce new features. Also the combat is really rewarding, with unlocking new combos and crafting new weapons. Not to mention the archery weapons are really fun to use. Glad I picked this up!
I read somewhere else online that this level 35 requirement is just to test it out with some players and they'll be slowly lowering the requirement. The full raid battle system won't be out until July.
That's weird, earlier they showed a picture of a player level 25 participating in raid battles... The majority of players who play Pokemon GO fairly are still a ways away from level 35, so now it seems like they're just going to make the cheaters even stronger by giving them powerful Pokemon from raids.
Not a huge surprise too see they're still having shortages. I know around here it's still pretty sought after. Enough so that sometimes I see signs in electronic stores that say "Looking for a Switch? We just got some in stock!".
Figured Max Brass would be added eventually. It's nice to see more characters, but he doesn't really interest me that much. His abilities are essentially just copies of existing characters (Master Mummy/Mechanica and Spring Man). Can't wait to see future updates!
It's not a huge surprise that Ribbon Girl had the highest winning average, her extra jumps and dive punch are pretty great, especially since a lot of people don't block.
I didn't really enjoy the first 20 minutes or so that I played, but once I switched to the pro controller and learned some of the mechanics (like the character specific abilities and charging up punches) I started to love it. I think I'll have more motivation to play for longer sessions when the full game comes out too since there will be arms to unlock so I'll feel like there's a purpose to fighting. Can't wait for the 16th!
The Rito set is one of my favorites, which is nice because a lot of the game's map requires cold resistant gear. The dark link set is pretty cool too.
I actually just managed my goal of getting all the outfits recently. Except for the Fierce Deity and Skyward Sword set. Hopefully they announce those amiibo soon, the Fierce Deity one looks pretty cool.
I thought I would have an issue with trying to super jump without the gamepad, but I adapted pretty quickly and ended up liking it better than the gamepad by the end of the testfire.
That seems like a pretty high goal to hit. I'm sure they'll get plenty of sales around Christmas though especially with Mario Odyssey coming out. At this point it seems inevitable that it'll do better than the Wii U in terms of lifetime sales.
I'm looking forward to it! Can't wait to try out the new guns and new specials. Hopefully it's released sooner than later. Maybe Nintendo will surprise us with a concrete release date once the test fire finishes.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The only amiibo I've seen on sale over here are the Animal Crossing ones, which makes sense since it's not a well known series and they don't do much. Other than that amiibo seem to be doing fine and get constant restocks. Personally I don't find them to be a scam either. I'm the type of person who likes to buy the Zelda Figma figurines though, so I really don't mind spending $15 on an amiibo. I couldn't care less about the functionality they have in games, that's just an added bonus.
@Yosher Maybe Nintendo will use some of the information gathered from this poll to pick from some fan favourite characters to put into Fire Emblem Warriors.
I voted for Tharja, Henry, and Hector. The people who won are alright but pretty predictable. All of them are Smash Bros characters except for Lyn (unless you include the assist trophy), but she's still pretty iconic. I have all the amiibo but chose not to use them. I'd rather unlock them myself, that way I have goals to work towards. Makes the game last longer.
