@nessisonett I didn't mind Zero Time Dilemma, but it was definitely my least favourite of the three. I sorta figured the conclusion of the story wouldn't live up to expectations, but what really bugged me was some of the characters felt completely unnecessary. In the first two games each character felt like they served an important purpose to the story and why they were there, but I didn't really get that feeling in ZTD. Also the 3D animations were really ugly, but I got used to that eventually. I still enjoyed my time with it overall.
I'm interested in this one, I'm a big fan of the Zero Escape/Danganronpa series and virtual novels in general, so I like the vibe this one gives off. I don't have time to play it right now, but I'll probably pick it up later this year.
This is really disappointing to hear, I was really looking forward to this one. After everything I've heard from this game, the last thread keeping my pre-order alive is the Buffalo plush. I'll probably end up canceling, though. I have too many unopened games that still need to be played.
Just had my copy delivered today! First time in a while I've gotten release day delivery through Amazon. I'm going to try to hold off playing until I beat Trails of Cold Steel, but it'll be tough.
Cherami is one of my favourites, loved her performance as Mae in Echoes. I do wish Kyle McCarley was in on this, he's another one of my favourites (voice actor for Alm in Echoes and Gatekeeper in 3 Houses). Nice to see some attention being brought to the VAs, I feel like they don't get enough recognition for their work.
Definitely one of my most hyped games, I hope the western release isn't too long after the Japan release. Would be nice if it sells well so the series can be kept alive.
Atelier Ryza was my first game in the series and I thought it was quite fun, so I'm glad to hear the sequel improves upon it in a lot of ways. Looking forward to trying this one out for sure.
@Clyde_Radcliffe The cards are conspicuously releasing around the time of the March update, which is also the 1 year anniversary of the game so I assume it'll be a bigger update. I have a feeling the Sanrio villagers will be a part of that update, but I could be wrong.
@Mr_Persona To be honest they milked Persona 4 quite a bit after its release too. We had Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona Q, Persona 4 Dancing All Night, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 the Animation, Persona 4 the Golden Animation, the crossover with Persona 4 in BlazBlue Crosstag Battle...
It only makes sense that they're going to do the crossover with the most recent and most popular title in the series. Especially considering this crossover is meant to align with the western release of Persona 5 Strikers.
Yeah that fur texture does look pretty unappealing. I think it's mainly because cats should be soft and fluffy, but that looks so rough and uncomfortable to touch. I'll still be getting them anyway, can't stop the amiibo collection at this point.
I'll probably go with Reina, Bridget, or Ralph. But I agree with other people, the design of the guys looks especially boring. Is it too much to ask for more mature looking guys, or guys with beards? They all look like kids/teenagers.
Picked this up tonight, enjoying it so far. I've only beaten the first episode at the moment, so hopefully the gameplay loop doesn't get too stale, but I really enjoy the strategy elements.
The Kickstarter for this project was a bit of a mess. The game was initially scheduled to release in early 2015 and was constantly delayed over the course of nearly 6 years. This in of itself isn't so bad, since games take a lot of time to develop and there can be many challenges that appear. Even if it was made with RPG maker, they seem to have put a lot of effort into the art style and animations. The main problem came with their total lack of communication. They would often go completely silent for nearly a full year and were pretty unresponsive to backer requests from what I heard.
That being said it does look like it's shaping up to be an interesting game. Hopefully it turns out well and was worth the wait for those who backed it.
I found when scanning my Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa amiibo I have a higher chance to get their respective weapons. Maybe that's just a coincidence though.
@King-X Yes, if you're the type of person who will fall to the temptation of the gacha system and spend thousands, then don't play. Same with if you're the type of person to get addicted to alcohol, then stay away from drinking. But there's also no need to tell everyone to stay away from drinking because some people can get addicted to it. I think the same applies to gacha games.
@King-X I'm currently at AR40 and haven't felt the temptation to spend money yet. I haven't been super short on resources, 3 of my characters are at level 80 and my talents just require the weekly boss materials now. The constellations aren't necessary at all, and even as a FTP player getting a few constellations on 4 stars isn't too difficult. There are whales out there that will fall to the gacha trap and spend that amount on any gacha game, you just have to not fall for it and you'll have a good time. The game is really well made, I was honestly surprised with how much I liked the characters, OST, and combat. I just don't think it should be easily dismissed as "gacha trash" as long as you can be responsible with your money.
The visible phone number was definitely off-putting, but at least they seem to have fixed it within hours of it being posted. Hopefully they see the backlash and decide to focus a bit more on security, especially if they want to hold onto this game's success.
@King-X Scams for in-game currency happen in almost any game like this, so I don't really see that as super noteworthy. I also don't find the gacha system in the game to be as bad as people say, yes the rates are really low but you really don't need 5 stars at all. You can play the game and have a great time without spending a cent. At the moment there's nothing pressuring players to have the most optimal gear, even the spiral abyss can be completed by free-to-play players.
I was thinking of picking up 1 and 2 on the PS4 and 3 on the Switch, but with this news I'll likely just wait to see if 1 and 2 get brought over to the west on Switch. Hopefully we get physical versions and it's not just digital only.
I loved Bravely Default and Bravely Second but something about this doesn't really excite me. Maybe it's the characters, none of them really appeal to me so far. Hopefully my opinion changes when I try the full thing in a few months.
@GrandScribe I've heard about the encounter rate in the original, I can't imagine traveling the overworld with an even higher encounter rate. Although I did find the encounter rate to be pretty acceptable in dungeons in the Gamecube version. It would still be nice if they went the way of the DQ VIII remake and made enemies visible on the field.
My first time playing this game was over the Summer on the Gamecube. I think a remaster would greatly benefit the game because there are a lot of things that didn't age well, but it's a good game underneath all of that. My biggest problem with the game is how slow everything is. The wait time in ship battles is the worst, but pretty much every action in the game, from getting on ladders to actions in battle, has this awkwardly long delay.
I also thing removing random encounters in the overworld would help a lot. It's a game centered around exploration, and there's a lot of space to move around since you have the freedom to move in the x, y, and z axis, but its just not fun to do when there's a random encounter every few seconds. You sort of "unlock" this feature later in the game but it's only when you fly above the clouds or far below, and there's not much to explore there so it sort of defeats the purpose. Adding a few more things in the overworld to discover along with this change would be nice too.
@Dirty0814 The article was later edited after my comment was posted. It originally said North America. The author of the article commented when they changed it, which you can see about 10 posts above yours.
Part of me doesn't want to see more information about this game to remain spoiler free since I know I'm buying it anyway. Part of me is dying from hype and needs to see more. Pretty sure the latter part of me will win the internal debate.
@KingBowser86 Just because you're not a fan of the new style doesn't automatically make it low quality. Plenty of people love this game, myself included, and this is coming from someone who also loves TTYD.
This is quite sad if true. Chibi-Robo is one of my favourite Gamecube games, I still go back and replay it every now and then. Hopefully this doesn't mean the series is forever dead. Even just an HD port of the original game would be nice, and maybe if it sparks interest in the series Nintendo can take the reigns and develop a new title.
I enjoyed SMT IV and SMT IV: Apocalypse, so I'm pretty excited about this. I also heard Nocturne is the best one so I've wanted to try it for a while now.
@Fazermint But it's being developed by TiMi, I doubt it's taking up much time or resources from The Pokemon Company. You should be happy it wasn't a new mainline game announced, maybe if they stop releasing a mainline game every year or two they'll have the time to make something great.
@skycargav2000 I might try that eventually, right now my island is setup the way I like it though and more houses would ruin it. So far I've only had one real painting each time he has visited so it wouldn't have made a difference.
I wish Redd would visit the island every day. It's not like he takes up a spot in the square, so he wouldn't prevent any other NPCs from showing up. Even if he showed up every day it would still take a while to finish the art exhibit. Seeing him once every 2 weeks for a chance of a real piece of art that I don't have just makes me feel like I'll never finish the museum.
@Moon I'm assuming you think you're missing the Marine Pop Floor. Don't worry, you don't actually get that item from the tourney even though countless websites say you can. You can buy the floor from Nook's shop, it'll randomly show up there sometimes.
@BenAV Just a tip for the next tourney, your rod can't actually break while the timer is active so you don't have to worry about customizing/crafting new rods. You just have to be careful, though, because your rod will go down to the minimum durability and if you reel in a fish right when the timer ends it will break. But besides that there's nothing to worry about, you can get to 300 points without repairing once.
Awesome! I got a code for SteamWorld Dig 2, can't wait to try it out. I didn't think I got a code at first, but it ended up in my Promotions tab so I almost missed it. Definitely check all your inboxes to make sure if you got one or not.
I ended up buying the rest of the SteamWorld games on the eShop too. They're all on sale for great prices right now, and I wanted to support them for doing something like this.
