Re: Gnosia Is Out On Switch Today, And It Looks Like Among Us Crossed With Virtue's Last Reward

Cynas

@nessisonett I didn't mind Zero Time Dilemma, but it was definitely my least favourite of the three. I sorta figured the conclusion of the story wouldn't live up to expectations, but what really bugged me was some of the characters felt completely unnecessary. In the first two games each character felt like they served an important purpose to the story and why they were there, but I didn't really get that feeling in ZTD. Also the 3D animations were really ugly, but I got used to that eventually. I still enjoyed my time with it overall.

Re: Nintendo's Dragalia Lost Is Teaming Up With Persona For A Special In-Game Event

Cynas

@Mr_Persona To be honest they milked Persona 4 quite a bit after its release too. We had Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona Q, Persona 4 Dancing All Night, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 the Animation, Persona 4 the Golden Animation, the crossover with Persona 4 in BlazBlue Crosstag Battle...

It only makes sense that they're going to do the crossover with the most recent and most popular title in the series. Especially considering this crossover is meant to align with the western release of Persona 5 Strikers.

Re: New Cat Mario And Cat Peach Amiibo Coming In February

Cynas

Yeah that fur texture does look pretty unappealing. I think it's mainly because cats should be soft and fluffy, but that looks so rough and uncomfortable to touch. I'll still be getting them anyway, can't stop the amiibo collection at this point.

Also, didn't we get an article about these on Nintendolife back when they were announced?

Re: EarthBound-Style Horror RPG OMORI Is Finally Coming To Switch After Skipping The 3DS

Cynas

The Kickstarter for this project was a bit of a mess. The game was initially scheduled to release in early 2015 and was constantly delayed over the course of nearly 6 years. This in of itself isn't so bad, since games take a lot of time to develop and there can be many challenges that appear. Even if it was made with RPG maker, they seem to have put a lot of effort into the art style and animations. The main problem came with their total lack of communication. They would often go completely silent for nearly a full year and were pretty unresponsive to backer requests from what I heard.

That being said it does look like it's shaping up to be an interesting game. Hopefully it turns out well and was worth the wait for those who backed it.

Re: MiHoYo Accused Of 'Carelessly Putting Players At Risk' In Genshin Impact Data Breach

Cynas

@King-X Yes, if you're the type of person who will fall to the temptation of the gacha system and spend thousands, then don't play. Same with if you're the type of person to get addicted to alcohol, then stay away from drinking. But there's also no need to tell everyone to stay away from drinking because some people can get addicted to it. I think the same applies to gacha games.

Re: MiHoYo Accused Of 'Carelessly Putting Players At Risk' In Genshin Impact Data Breach

Cynas

@King-X I'm currently at AR40 and haven't felt the temptation to spend money yet. I haven't been super short on resources, 3 of my characters are at level 80 and my talents just require the weekly boss materials now. The constellations aren't necessary at all, and even as a FTP player getting a few constellations on 4 stars isn't too difficult. There are whales out there that will fall to the gacha trap and spend that amount on any gacha game, you just have to not fall for it and you'll have a good time. The game is really well made, I was honestly surprised with how much I liked the characters, OST, and combat. I just don't think it should be easily dismissed as "gacha trash" as long as you can be responsible with your money.

Re: MiHoYo Accused Of 'Carelessly Putting Players At Risk' In Genshin Impact Data Breach

Cynas

The visible phone number was definitely off-putting, but at least they seem to have fixed it within hours of it being posted. Hopefully they see the backlash and decide to focus a bit more on security, especially if they want to hold onto this game's success.

@King-X Scams for in-game currency happen in almost any game like this, so I don't really see that as super noteworthy. I also don't find the gacha system in the game to be as bad as people say, yes the rates are really low but you really don't need 5 stars at all. You can play the game and have a great time without spending a cent. At the moment there's nothing pressuring players to have the most optimal gear, even the spiral abyss can be completed by free-to-play players.

Re: Skies Of Arcadia Dev Says Remaster Or Sequel Depends On Sega

Cynas

@GrandScribe I've heard about the encounter rate in the original, I can't imagine traveling the overworld with an even higher encounter rate. Although I did find the encounter rate to be pretty acceptable in dungeons in the Gamecube version. It would still be nice if they went the way of the DQ VIII remake and made enemies visible on the field.

Re: Skies Of Arcadia Dev Says Remaster Or Sequel Depends On Sega

Cynas

My first time playing this game was over the Summer on the Gamecube. I think a remaster would greatly benefit the game because there are a lot of things that didn't age well, but it's a good game underneath all of that. My biggest problem with the game is how slow everything is. The wait time in ship battles is the worst, but pretty much every action in the game, from getting on ladders to actions in battle, has this awkwardly long delay.

I also thing removing random encounters in the overworld would help a lot. It's a game centered around exploration, and there's a lot of space to move around since you have the freedom to move in the x, y, and z axis, but its just not fun to do when there's a random encounter every few seconds. You sort of "unlock" this feature later in the game but it's only when you fly above the clouds or far below, and there's not much to explore there so it sort of defeats the purpose. Adding a few more things in the overworld to discover along with this change would be nice too.

Re: Has The Chibi-Robo Studio Skip Pulled The Plug On Development?

Cynas

This is quite sad if true. Chibi-Robo is one of my favourite Gamecube games, I still go back and replay it every now and then. Hopefully this doesn't mean the series is forever dead. Even just an HD port of the original game would be nice, and maybe if it sparks interest in the series Nintendo can take the reigns and develop a new title.

Re: Datamine Reveals Just How Sly Redd Actually Is In The New Animal Crossing

Cynas

I wish Redd would visit the island every day. It's not like he takes up a spot in the square, so he wouldn't prevent any other NPCs from showing up. Even if he showed up every day it would still take a while to finish the art exhibit. Seeing him once every 2 weeks for a chance of a real piece of art that I don't have just makes me feel like I'll never finish the museum.

Re: Reminder: Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Fishing Tourney Starts Today

Cynas

@BenAV Just a tip for the next tourney, your rod can't actually break while the timer is active so you don't have to worry about customizing/crafting new rods. You just have to be careful, though, because your rod will go down to the minimum durability and if you reel in a fish right when the timer ends it will break. But besides that there's nothing to worry about, you can get to 300 points without repairing once.

Re: Image & Form Gives Away 2,000 SteamWorld Games, Codes Now Sent Out To Winners

Cynas

Awesome! I got a code for SteamWorld Dig 2, can't wait to try it out. I didn't think I got a code at first, but it ended up in my Promotions tab so I almost missed it. Definitely check all your inboxes to make sure if you got one or not.
I ended up buying the rest of the SteamWorld games on the eShop too. They're all on sale for great prices right now, and I wanted to support them for doing something like this.
