Cutesy toy makers Goodsmile have opened pre-orders for the latest set of Splatoon 2 figma action figures, and these are really off the hook.
Pop idol duo Pearl and Marina, fan-favourite characters from the latest kid-squid-shooter on Switch, are now available to pre-order. They're due to release in July 2021, both coming with a stand and measuring approximately 90mm and 100mm in height respectively.
You can grab a pre-order here if you're based in the US or Canada, here for Japan, and more details can be found here if you live elsewhere. They look pretty great, sure, but they're also expensive, coming in at $146.99 for the pair.

Marina makes me feel allllll funny.
Would get them but that price is way to high.
They look pretty cool, but I think the amiibo are good enough for me.
They look really well done!
Just pre-ordered, really excited. I hope they do octolings in the future.
I want these so much. Damn I wish I can afford this now...
Expensive but Figmas are worth it!
@crashcontrol Same they look niiiice
My favourite thing about these characters is that Pearl and Marina are the two women in Howard's life in Last of the Summer Wine.
I'd like to think that Nintendo HQ is full of secret fans. Miyamoto laughing away while Compo and Clegg go down a hill in a bathtub.
My girlfriend and I collect Nendoroids and Figmas for characters we like so thinking I know where a chunk of my next paycheck is going.
Heed my warning, friends: it's a slippery slope to Good Smile owning your soul. And bank account.
Pretty cool, but it did immediately strike me how close the amiibo look to these figma, at just a fraction of the cost.
I guess that's just a testament to the workmanship of each product though!
@OstianOwl That's exactly why I've basically limited my figure collecting to amiibo. I already buy a ton of anime, put in a monthly manga order, and have started in on light novels; I don't need a fourth otaku expense.
Too pricey. Pass!
If it was half that price, sure, but I can't justify dropping $160 for figures, no matter how absolutely awesome they are.
Thats a lot of moolah, where am I supposed to get that? I can't even get a job
Lame! I hate when this stuff comes out when I'm in Canada and don't have a Japanese address. $50 shipping hurts. Still, I already have the inkling boy and girl, as well as a dharma of all the Amiibos, and there was no way this was going to be the first collectable I didn't get!
I may get these. Not sure yet.
