It was very good. The Switch online expansion looks good, though I don't know how many games they'll be able to put on there. My favorite games, from WCW NWO Revenge, Ken Griffey Baseball, and a ton of licensed games will likely never show up. Though i wonder why they don't blank out player names for sports games, and just release them, because back then, the faces definitely didn't match the real person.
Bayonetta looked great. Time for me to boot up the Wii U again.

I'm already happy with the holiday lineup. I've got Super Monkey Ball, Metroid Dread, and Streets of Rage 4 anniversary edition lined up the next month or so.

I hope to see a Dying Light release date. Maybe a GTA release date. Would like to see the Batman Arkham games. And my biggest wish is Fire Pro Wrestling. Wouldn't be surprised to Xenoblade Chronicles X too.

Looks really good. Hopefully it's coming in a cartridge.

The NBA has become a farce with a run and gun game, with defense being unimportant, and a de-emphasis on post play.

For 2k, I'm good. I moved back to a modded version of NBA 2K14 on my PC and that game was probably the pinnacle of the series, though 2k11 and 2k12 are excellent. 2K should have dropped the career mode and just have a straight Legends mode. Kareem is on one of the covers, so I thought we'd see Lew Alcindor climbing the ranks in NYC, playing with Oscar in Milwaukee, facing off against Wilt, playing with Magic against Parish and McHale to his final game achieving highest score of all time. It writes itself. They could have implemented the different style of play from different eras. What a waste.

I think the Switch will sell well throughout the holidays, because strangely enough, they have a fairly varied lineup. I am also not buying any new consoles for awhile. I have an Xbox One to play Resident Evil 2 and 3 (best games I have played in a very long time), and a Wii U to play Bayonetta, and most of the Switch library. I've been playing some Switch stuff but I may jump back in for Metroid, Super Monkey Ball, and Shin Megami Tensei V ( which may end up game of the year for me).
I was very close to pulling the trigger on a PS5 a few months ago...then I never found it. But then i learned more about the CMOS issue with the new xbox and playstation, and might wait until there is a significant price drop. Many of the offerings from Sony all look the same, which is highly disappointing, because they took more creative risk with the PS3, and especially the PS2. The new Gran Turismo game is all online basically, and that was sad to see. I'm not sure what Sony is doing. Microsoft, with the original Xbox One wanted an all online console, and had huge backlash, and what's strange is the new Xbox is exactly that, with DRM, and online check ins, and there's been no issue from the consumer.

Nintendo has been resting on their laurels for the better part of 2 years. Right now there's no need to change up the formula, but at some point the consumers (especially U.S. based consumers) will pull back from spending. A consumer may just buy one or no new consoles. And in a way its begun, with the cutting of unemployment benefits, and lots of folks not finding or looking for employment. Its leading to worker shortages, and higher prices on basic stuff. Cars, rent, tvs, food, etc have gone up in price steadily. A reality check is about to happen to most consumers worldwide, and many of these companies, including Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony recognize that. I think we see a downturn starting this fall, and lasting for a very, very long time.

The top three games have convinced me to get a PS5. Ghosts of Tsushima Director Cut is all on disc, and can be played straight out of the box. That's such a big deal for me.

Download only? C'mon already. I'll stay with my PS2.

First Nintendo game I played was SMB 3 with my older cousins. What an epic experience for someone that never played a videogame up to that point. First Nintendo centric game I owned was WCW/NWO Revenge. What.a.game. Still play today!

Many Switch games require a download to the cart, so I'm extra careful with purchases.
But I saw the PS5 doesn't have the same limitations as the PS4 with the CMOS battery. You can play offline and games are installed off the disc to the hard drive. It's not an online check in, or DRM. That's a huge deal, and why I'm looking at getting a PS5 whenever it becomes available.

@Silly_G : I don't expect much from Disney. They've already erased the Michael Jackson episode. If they see no real way to expand the brand, they will bury it.
I thought it would have been nice to have finished the show 25 years ago with a season set in the future.

@Silly_G That's good info. I didn't know the show hit such a low. The best seasons for me are 1-6 or 7. After that there was a definitely a loss in quality. You're likely right about Disney attempting to restore the older episodes for UHD.

@Silly_G : Didn't Fox/Disney shut down bluray and/or DVD releases a few years ago? I've had trouble finding the X Files on physical format because of this too. Disney will use this franchise forever, even if the voice actors pass on. They don't care about quality. It's all about branding.

I haven't bought a game on Steam in over 2 years, but I will be picking up a Steam Deck as it becomes more widely available in 2022. I want it just to play modded games.

Hmmm..does this thing have DRM? Like if you're offline with a game downloaded, are you good to go? And can I play modded steam games on this ( as in the modded NBA 2k14 Ultimate Base Roster)
Lots of questions, but very intriguing, especially as a next gen purchase because PS5 and Xbox series X are loaded with DRM and a CMOS battery, which is not for me.

Are they finally going to use a larger cartridge? If not, I'll stay away.

I voted not happy since the 90s. My life generally sucks.
But I'm very much looking forward to Metroid Dread. Specifically the Collectors Edition. Nintendo has set it up in the spotlight. This game will sell like fire.

@TheBigN65 : That's what I'm hoping to see at E3, is the 64GB and up cartridges. This was supposed to be out 2 years ago I think.

@Ruby-San : Great predictions! I could see a very limited Game Pass, as in 3 or 4 games. Or Microsoft releases a few more games, i.e Rare Replay, Halo collection for Switch.

Nintendo has been playing it safe, well before the pandemic began. I have zero interest in anything Splatoon or Smash related, and I hope they don't devote any time during the 40 minute presentation to them. I'm hoping for
1. Resident Evil Revelations 3. I would love to see 7, and Village if a new Switch is announced.
2. F Zero. I miss this franchise.
3. Eternal Darkness. I miss this even more.
4. A Nintendo Sports Division. Lack of Madden, The Show, PES is killer. Bring back Ken Griffey. Bring back NBA Courtside. C'mon now.
5. What's happened to Starfox?
6. 64 GB cartridges
7. Game Boy/GBC/GBA virtual console
8. Wind Waker, Xenoblade X ports to fill out the schedule

I'm just hoping for more risk, and variety from Nintendo. Running back the same stuff can become tiresome.

That's the final day of E3 isn't it? Sort of disappointed there's only 3 hours of Treehouse afterwards. Hmmm...maybe the Treehouse is only focused on one or two games then. I'm honestly not expecting much this year, but you never know.

@kingbk , I totally agree with you. Bloomberg and Eurogamer are confirming something. And Eurogamer confirmed the Switch if I remember right.

I hope we get bigger cartridge sizes.

There are many other great games up on my list, but these I would play everyday, all the time if I could.

I don't really feel this is the Golden Age at all. I'm not a fan of Microsoft pushing Gamepass. They've given up on any creativity and are busy buying up as many studios as possible. If gamepass is the way gaming is going, I'm not going along for the ride.
I would say the greatest age of gaming was between the original Playstation to the start of the Wii. You had Nintendo with 2 amazingly creative systems with the GC and N64. The underrated Dreamcast, and last of the Genesis and brief Saturn. You had xbox, then xbox 360. You had PS2, arguably the greatest system ever. The competition was amazing, and the variety and creativity was off the charts. And the games were all physical. Good...no great times.

I'm assuming Furukawa is talking about more than 1st party titles. I'm hoping and wishing for more Resident Evil, more sports titles, and the introduction of the 64 GB game card.

@Heavyarms55 : I'm not sure why the United States government has done almost nothing with these big companies. Under the Trump administration, little was done. Under Biden, same thing. Congress, with all Republicans and Democrats are totally useless. It's a situation like the railroads in the early 20th century. I don't need these companies telling me what I can like or dislike. It's become a situation of these companies controlling what the populace thinks. This EA thing is just an additional brick being laid.

This is super disappointing. These big companies keep buying up developers. And the games worse than ever before.
I'm happy Metalhead will get some financial compensation but creative freedom is likely gone.

Microsoft has the most money and don't care about spending it. Sony doesn't seem interested in Japanese games. I'd be disappointed to see Microsoft get them.

I just think it's Rare Replay. And maybe Battletoads. Nothing more than that.

I haven't played Madden since the Gamecube launch. If the Franchise mode is good and the game is all on cart, I'll come back on the Switch.

If he's talking about Resident Evil 7 and 8, I could definitely see that. They already tested 7 on the cloud in Japan.

This isn't a rumor. Bloomberg is reporting the start of production date. And it does not sound like an upgrade, but a brand new Switch. Hmmm..wonder if we'll hear more after March 31st?

Looks awesome to me. Never played the originals. I don't know what these belly achers are complaining about.

This looks real nice. But I already have a blue split pad pro, and its excellent for certain games. For me, it works well with Monster Hunter, and NBA 2K20. Also, its a very light controller. I just wish it had rumble.

I could see something being announced in August or September for a fall rollout. I think Nintendo is following the COVID trend, possibly reserving some big stuff towards the end of the year with a hope that the worldwide economy has begun to trend up.
I'd be happy with multiple SD card slots built in. Additional app compatibility. A functional browser. Almost like what the Wii U Gamepad was. Also would like to see the ecosystem stay as is, where your games and purchases transfer over.

Wow, that trailer looked amazing! I've never played Diablo, but this looks dark. This should've been in the Direct, it would've been a huge highlight.

I was expecting something else but there was alot on hand. Ninja Gaiden, and a few of those RPGs looked great. I'm just not into Smash, or Splatoon at all. I'm more of a single player gamer. I'll see about Skyward Sword. I have it for Wii, but never played it. I also think this presentation was stretched out too long. Could've been done in 10 to 15 minutes.

Great interview. This fellow knows his wrestling calling out a match the modern fan would probably not be interested in.
The game is different. Sometimes, I wish he had included different speeds to play at, but this is a tremendous accomplishment for a one man development team.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is definitely coming this year. I'd like to have all of Xenoblade all on Switch.
