Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Focus On Younger Players Is A Positive, Not A Negative

Cyberbotv2

I don't really think Disney is a good comparison to Nintendo. They own ESPN, ABC, HULU, Disney +, and have become increasingly less creative. Let's promote a known cheater on our sunday night baseball broadcast with alex Rodriguez. Let's drown the NBA broadcast with the worst presentation possible. Let's release Star Wars and Marvel movies until you throw up. Disney is a corporate joke.

Nintendo is sort of in their own world. I wish they still had their sports division. And I wish they would bring back Eternal Darkness. But they are definitely not Disney. They're mostly focused on their gaming properties and seem pretty dedicated to that.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11 Receives Huge Update - Full Patch Notes (November 2020)

Cyberbotv2

Woah, that's a huge update!

Had a question, and I hope someone could answer. I went to play MK 11 on my Switch, and couldn't find the game. Then I checked my SD card, and I the game was listed but not downloaded. I definitely never archived the game. Has anyone encountered this issue with their copy of Mortal Kombat. ( btw, I have the cartridge format if that makes any difference)

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Remain Strong As Next-Gen Systems Hit The Market

Cyberbotv2

@Serialsid : I would agree with you about all consoles sharing in sales success...if this was a few years ago. The global economy is definitely depressed, so it would be much harder for a consumer to buy multiple consoles, then multiple games, then multiple subscriptions, etc. That's alot of money, and I'm going to guess the consumer will go with what might be the best overall deal in terms of game quality along with price. The PS5 should dominate the holiday sales, and it will probably will in certain territories, but this is a tough, tough period for the general consumer.
I'm still behind a few generations, as I'm still playing my PS3 ( underrated system btw). This last Xbox dropped the ball. Just felt cold and boring. My next purchase will be a PS4 in the next 2 years.

Re: Huge Capcom Leak Suggests New Final Fight, Power Stone, Mega Man And Dragon's Dogma Games Are Coming

Cyberbotv2

It's a real disgrace what these keyboard losers did. They likely have no life, no friends, and no job, so why not hack into a company where people have to work? I'm sick of these people.

I don't know how true the hacked info is. I'm inclined to think Capcom had a working list of what they may have planned, with changes always happening. Almost like a rough draft. If true, it's good to see Capcom actively thinking ahead and actually focusing on game development. I wish other companies like Konami would do the same, especially with untapped, or forgotten libraries.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Remain Strong As Next-Gen Systems Hit The Market

Cyberbotv2

PS5 should have rocked the Switch sales but didn't. I understand supply issues, but if you're constrained with supply to start, just delay the release. It's not like they had a killer game or two they had to get out there.
I also think Spider Man has been over exposed in media right now. Aren't there a whole bunch of different Spideys out there now? And looking at the upcoming PS5 and Xbox game schedule, I would not throw down money on a new console the next few years. Makes no sense if you have a functioning PS4 or current gen xbox.

Re: Poll: Which Will Be Your Second Console - PS5 Or Xbox Series X?

Cyberbotv2

I voted for just the Switch. If there was any option for Switch and any past console, like the PS3 or Gamegear or whatever, I would have chosen that.
The PS5 and new Xbox are absolutely impressive, hulking devices. But most of these games require a day one download, or an internet check in, which the Switch has as well. I'm nearing 40, and I have plenty of other things to worry about with work and life. My time has become so limited, I end up rarely playing my games, and when i do get to them, they may have vanished from PS Now, or Gamepass or any other digital storefront. I'm ok for now.

Re: Talking Point: Cloud Gaming On Switch – The Pros And Cons Of The Cloud

Cyberbotv2

I understand why Nintendo is doing this. There's a whole new generation of gamer that has grown up on streaming entertainment, with videogames entering the fray. But for me personally, I'm good. Most games you purchase today in physical format, especially on playstation and xbox require an online download and install which is a joke. Then you have some games centered on essentially having an online connection to play ( though to be fair, its usually a check in type of thing and not needed to play. Example is NBA 2k20, which I just disconnect from the 2k servers, and the game plays the best of any 2K in a decade). The cloud stuff is actually just disturbing. So, let's say you pay up. What if the server crashes? What if your internet goes out? What if the company is sold 6 months later, and access is denied? What if it's a licensed game that a company loses the rights to? What if..etc? That's way too many variables.
Btw, I'm not a gamepass fan at all. To me it dilutes the product further. Steam has already done by selling games for a cup of coffee in their attempt to race to the bottom.
Finally, that Direct was great yesterday, but the Control and Hitman cloud versions soured the entire event for me.

Re: Talking Point: There's Never Been A Better Time For Gaming Consumers, Nor A Worse Time For Gaming Innovation

Cyberbotv2

That was a well written piece!
Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Sony, Apple etc are going to create a redundant form of gaming. I don't know if that will create or lessen the number of players, but I'm definitely not going to involved if this is the future of gaming. These companies also need to be highly regulated and taxed hard. These guys are not about innovation, but more how can I take an existing business model and repackage it. They resemble monopolies, and that is dangerous in terms of creating new products or services. And it's become highly prevalent the last 20 years. I'm not sure if business laws have become lax to allow for this but that's well above my head.
The best comparison I can think of is the streaming war right now. Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon, Disney+ are all trying to compete for the same space, and for a few of them are trying to double up their cable customers. How is this even being allowed? This is one of the few times i wholeheartedly would like to see some strict regulation. Take Disney for example. They own Hulu, ESPN, ABC Network and the likes. Their programming is cookie cutter, mass produced stuff. The sports presentation is horrid. Why try, when you own the rights for respective sports for years. The original programming leaves quite a bit to be desired ( maybe not for folks that will watch anything and justify its greatness). The goal is to bring you into their ecosystem and give you an occasional good meal, but mostly feed you with the same corn until you think you can't live without them. Really sad to see, but the average customer easily gives into this.

Re: NBA 2K21 Update Brings Balance Changes And Frame Rate Improvement To Switch

Cyberbotv2

@Ghostchip : I'll have to disagree about the better version being on xbox or playstation. I'm going off of NBA 2k20, and just the base game. Running My league offline is epic. Especially if its customized. The biggest problem with these games is what seems to be a constant check in with the horrible 2k servers, and that's across all versions. If you have 2K20 on Switch, utilize my 1994 1995 roster in roster look up and try it with my settings under the username Cyberbot. The game runs really well, and is totally transformed in Handheld mode.

Re: Netflix Reveals Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness

Cyberbotv2

Heck yes I'm interested. They should be continuing these characters journey in Resident Evil Revelations or another spinoff if they want to not use them in the main series. I also wouldn't mind seeing Rebecca and Billy from RE Zero in a Netflix presentation.

Re: Get A Closer Look At Super Mario 3D All-Stars In This Nintendo Unboxing Video

Cyberbotv2

@EvrgrnCmln : Boom, end of discussion. The loudest complainers are likely in the minority. If you don't want the game, don't buy it.

But, yes, I couldn't afford an N64 initially, and got to it late bypassing Mario and just diving into all the sports games ( the N64, for me was an underappreciated sports console). I had the gamecube, and essentially it became my horror console, specifically for Eternal Darkness ( I hope with the release of Sunshine, it opens the gate for cube games like this), and REsident Evil 0, and 1. Due to work and school, I missed out on Sunshine. And galaxy, same thing. I am extremely happy to see these games released in a bundle, which I never expected. I actually hope they are more untouched for the most part.

Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For September And October 2020

Cyberbotv2

@Stocksy @Yanina
The NBA 2K20 roster name is 1994-1995 under nickname Cyberbot. I also uploaded a 1990s playstyle under cpu/user sliders. Just search my nickname or the file name 2ndtry

Alot of the slider settings are based off of a user on operation sports Schnaidt1. He's spent so much time on it, and I modified a few things, but the speed and feel is very good. I hope you guys enjoy!

Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For September And October 2020

Cyberbotv2

I am mighty tempted by the Hori controller. I don't care about rumble or any of that stuff. It might work well with NBA 2K, Monster Hunter, and games where I have to really pound the controller.

I've had NBA 2k20 for a few months, was able to fully customize and create the 1994 1995 roster ( which anyone can download if you search under custom roster) and found the base game bug free, and the smoothest iteration yet on Switch. I'm not getting NBA 2k21 because there should have been a Kobe mode ala the Jordan Mode from NBA 2K11.
Otherwise, very quiet September. I'm expecting a huge, huge direct in the next week or two.

Re: Random: Epic Goes To War With Apple, Asks Players To "Join The Fight" And "Free Fortnite"

Cyberbotv2

Gross. You have Google, Apple and Epic fighting over how much of the consumers money they can steal. These companies are way too big at this point, and need to be broken up.
Just look at AT&T who bought Warner Bros. They're gutting the comic book division, and have a FanDome event next week, and could care less about the history of their characters. Same thing with Disney and Marvel to an extent. I'm migrating away and supporting smaller game companies, smaller book publishers, etc.
