Sony haven’t figured out yet that games matter more than power.
Throwing more and more pretty pixels at things don’t make them any more fun, and usually the end customer won’t notice difference anyhow (and will need someone like digital foundry to tell them whether it’s good or not)

I'd love to play it, but the price is insane.. I'm not paying that much for an old game, even with shiny new visuals.

They're big games. IMHO, it'd be REALLY daft to release either this close to MP4 release date... Or even stupider to release them at the same time!

If you're trying for a "retro" look, great... But do it properly, use the limited palette/sprites/etc from the retro too. Or at the very least, have a "reason" for the look.. Otherwise, you're just basically just jumping on a bandwagon.. The "ultimate" trope.

Im guessing it must get better. As I hated the first hour i played with it, and never went back.

Either that or I missed something that other people get from playing it..

As for "avoiding tropes", what i played was as generic as they came - so much so, i got literally bored playing it.

Again, Im judging it after getting bored after an hours play. So I might be wrong, and maybe it gets brilliant. But my time is short, if im not pulled in within an hour, i'll just quit.

Well, they've been sitting on them and stockpiling them for long enough now.. no surprise they have so many.

Games don’t have to be finished to get a rating.. getting rating before game is done is common practice.

Never understood some people who think games are free to make and should be free to play, and the people making them don’t deserve anything for their work that you enjoy…

I used mine when it's in handheld mode and it makes a huge difference.. Just like my invisible clothes do.

But personally, I’m gonna avoid giving Bezos any more of my money going forward.

I’m gonna hazard a guess that it was due to Amazon constantly sending games out before the release date. The only reason I used to buy switch games on Amazon, was I could get them a few days before official release.

I wont be buying it as it looks like a very dumb down simple game with awful visuals.

Wonder is the first Mario game I've played which i "completed" and had ZERO desire to even try the after game.

It's the first mario game i sold second hand too (normally i hold onto them for repeat plays for fun). I hated every single moment of it.

I have ZERO idea why it's in any way liked, let alone loved.

I hate Wonder with a passion, almost as much as NSMB2.

It would be near the bottom of the pile for me. Putting it above M64 is just ... Wrong.

Mario GB deserves more love... As does Sunshine .. which is still one of my favorites.

I’ve changed my mind. The Switch was revealed on Oct 20th.. so they’ll do same this time, mark it’s bitrthday… it is written, clammy out.

There would be no reason to announce new console before Xmas, and eat into switch Xmas sales… unless they were going to launch new machine for Xmas.

I’d guess it might’ve made sense to announce it before museum opened, and have it on display there.. but…

They cant even have the "we cant have a voice actor for link" excuse.

Links Awakening had major framerate issues in places.. this does not. Unless they happen much later in game to where i've gotten to.

I suspect people moaning about frame rate have either not played it, and are just regurgitating stuff they've read online. Or are playing a pirated non patched copy.

Im expecting lots of people commenting about framerate, who've not even played the thing (I've seen no framerate problems since the patch).

But Im not really enjoying it that much, the boss fights are tedious, and it just feels like a dumbed down version of zelda.. Im hoping it gets better later on.

As it currently stands, after 10 hours ish of play - 6.5/10. Six feels harsh, and 7 feels too much.

And it just feels "cheap". I wouldnt mind if this was a budget game. But the lack of voice acting (For example) feels wrong. They dont have the "you are link" excuse here.. Nintendo cheaped out, made a small budget game, charged full price for it.

Its like going back to the days of wii shovelware.

Same as I’ve been saying.. whereas it would seem daft to announce it before Xmas. At the same time, it would make perfect sense to announce it before their museum opens (and have it playable there)

@Deev : You are correct. Typing without my brain working.. It was released on March 3rd.. Which is why i think same could happen here... Potentially.
I mean, it'd be perfect timing to time it with the opening of their museum, and have it on display there are a pre-release thing... There would be queues around the block to play it..

Personally I bet they announce the S2 before their museum opens. Have it a reason to go to the museum, see the new machine before it's released..

As someone who mightve worked on the original - I hope it's the good Playstation version, and not the impossible (and crap imho) n64 one.

The disclaimer at the start of video implies that the remake is censored, and how I read it, you can play with the original uncensored version- but then you don’t get full hd, etc?
