I've been paying for NSO since it launched. I appreciate the cloud saves but rarely play games online and rarely play the NES and SNES games and for £17.99 I'm ok with that. I do enjoy the SNES games when I play them.
£34.99 for 9 N64 and 14 Mega Drive games and the AC DLC is a bit much. I'm done with AC now for a start. They say more N64 games will be added later but they don't say when. If it was around £24.99 I'd pay it and be happy. £34.99 every year is a bit much with no firm schedule for new games and no promises of further consoles. I'd love to see GBA games added for a start.
I was a big fan of the MegaDrive PGA Tour games but haven't played the series since then. From my point of view this game is a massive step up from the older games. The cons don't bother me in the slightest. I can finally play a very good golf game in Switch!
Although I'm getting on with the control system better than I thought I would I still miss the 3 button method. I think that's just nostalgia talking though.
I used to enjoy the Madden and PGA Tour Golf games on Megadrive and would love to play them on Switch but I'm worried that we'll just end up with games infested with micro transactions.
@DevinRex I'm not actually disputing anything you say except the "this is how it's always been" argument. Something that made sense in the past doesn't necessarily make sense now and the idea of healthy change is subjective. Sometimes going with the majority of current players is the right thing to do.
@DevinRex "This is how it's always been so this is how it must be" is not a good argument. I see this type of argument a lot re Nintendo games and it's not healthy. The player base has changed so the game must evolve with it. If that means change then change we must have.
In this case I agree with you but that doesn't mean this is how it must be forever.
@fafonio There are 29 different animals in the game. I have 4 penguins out of 10 islanders so the RNG is bad. I want to be able get rid of 3 penguins and have 10 different animals if only for variety.
The more I play this game, the more I realise how badly coded it is.
I'm playing so many games at the moment. I still play Animal Crossing daily. I've started Stardew Valley and BoTW again. I'm still playing through Dragon Quest 3. And now I've started playing Streets of Rage 4 and will probably be playing Overcooked 2 with my wife at some point.
I'm still playing a lot of Animal Crossing although I feel like I'm running out of things to do and the fruit situation is annoying.
I've also gone back to some older games. I'm really enjoying Steamworld Quest at the moment for example and I've put in a few more hours into Darkest Dungeon.
I'm half way through my current Pokemon Sword run and I have 5 days so I might just finish the main game this weekend. I'll be putting lots of time into Animal Crossing too of course.
It was weird seeing SEGA Mega Drive Classics listed. I recently dug it out again, partly because my wife recently bought a Switch Lite but also because I decided to play some of the games again. Along with Doom, MD Classics will give me my nostalgia fix this weekend.
Ive already put a couple of hours into Animal Crossing today so there’s that. Last weekend I decided to restart Pokemon Sword after losing interest in it. I enjoyed it before but Ive really got into it this time.
Animal Crossing is excellent and it easily fits in around other things I'm doing. I can easily see this taking up most of my time this weekend. I'll be filling in any gaps with Doom 64.
I'm enjoying the Netflix Witcher show and that's pushing me to finish Witcher 3. I'll also be working through Pokemon Sword. Then depending on what others want to do there may be some Mortal Kombat 11, Street Fighter 2, Mario Kart or Smash Bros in there too.
I have this, along with all of the other old D&D games including the sequel, on PC and still enjoy playing it from time to time. More recently I've been playing Baldur's Gate again on iPad so didn't buy the switch version. The plan was to get NWN on Switch for mobile play but I don't think I'll bother now. Such a shame.
On Switch I'm hooked on Doom (1993) and Marvel Ultimate Alliance at the moment.
However Train Sim World 2020 is out and is a free update to existing TSW owners. There's also a new route so TSW will see a lot of action this weekend!
MUA3 for me but this is my first MUA game and I'm struggling to get into it. There isn't very much of a tutorial and I'm learning more from reviews and tips articles than I'm learning from the game itself.
I played and loved all of these games when they were originally released. Thanks to GOG I still play them on PC from time to time. I'll definitely be getting these on Switch!
It's a bit of a mixed bag this weekend. I bought a 400GB microSD card last week and going back through my physical games to update them made me want to play them.
So along with Mortal Kombat 11, Smash and Yoshi I'll be playing Lego Marvel and Hyrule Warriors. Oh, and Final Fantasy VII now it's been patched.
I pre-ordered Mortal Kombat 11 so I won't be playing that until next weekend. In the mean time I'm playing Street Fighter II Ultra like made. I love that game. I'll probably get some more Smash Bros in too.
I was surprised to see Capcom Beat 'em Up Bundle listed. I've been playing that on and off for a couple of months now and will again this weekend as I'm very into beat 'em ups at the moment. Why is it listed though? Have I missed something?
Although I loved MK back in the Megadrive days but wasn't that interested in this. Having read some reviews and watched footage on YouTube however I've decided to pre-order the physical version (I can wait, it's cheaper and 22GB download!).
In the meantime I've been playing Street Fighter II Ultra. I love that game and hopefully MK11 is better.
I really struggled to get into SSBU. I've been playing the single player campaign on and off for a couple of weeks now in the evenings and I think I'm starting to get into it. I've unlocked half of the fighters now so I'm making some progress. Maybe I'll get it eventually.
I managed to completely miss the Final Fantasy games first time round. I'm really enjoying being able to play FFIX and FFVII at last. Even without the nostalgia element they're still fun to play.
I’m finally getting into Smash so I’ll be playing that. I’ll also be making more progress through Diablo 3 and Dead Cells. I’m also back into Octopath Traveller so there will be some of that and if there’s any more time I’ll get in some FF9 and Celeste. Busy weekend for me!
I'm back into Diablo 3 so that'll get some time. I'll also put some time into Celeste and one or more Mega Man game. I may even have another try at Dead Cells.
I have no idea why I insist on playing hard games when I'm no good at them though!
I got very into Fitness Boxing a couple of weeks ago so I'll "play" half an hour of that each day. I bought Final Fantasy IX because Final Fantasy but I've also really started to get into Hollow Knight so those two will have to fight it out for my time.
My cold has more or less gone so I'll be getting into Super Mario at last. I'm still trying to get into Super Smash Bros so will probably spend an hour or two playing that. Diablo 3 will get a few hours too.
There has been some new DLC for Train Sim World on PS4 though so that will get quite a few hours today as I have the TV to myself until around 6pm.
I have the worst cold I've had in years and don't feel much like playing games this weekend. My ability to concentrate and my reflexes are non-existent. Having said that, something turn based like Octopath or Mario+Rabbids might work.
I hope I feel well enough to play some of the new Mario too but when I tried last night I was awful at it because I just couldn't focus on it.
I prefer digital for the convenience but I'll buy physical if it's cheaper or the game is larger than 5GB so I don't end up with loads of microSD cards.
I've booked holiday and we don't have much planned so I'll be able to get plenty of game time for once.
It's guaranteed that I'll be playing Diablo a lot but I bought Civ 6 the other day so I'll be putting some time into that too.
I plan on giving Smash another go to see if I can get into it this time and then there's Train Sim World on PS4 which is bound to get a good few hours over the next week.
@SimplyCinnamon53 Thanks for the advice. This is pretty much how I approach all fighting games so I'm on the right track it seems. I'm really finding not falling off really hard though. For some reason all the CPU opponents fly right back up when I knock them off but I can't seem to do that.
It seemed like it should be quite simple to play from hearing how others have described the controls but it's a lot deeper than I thought it would be. It's a hell of a lot faster and harder than I thought it would be too!

Pokemon Sword and The Witcher for me. They recently released a class 31 for Train Sim World (PS4) so I may get an hour or two on that too.
