XSEED Games, a publishing arm of Marvelous USA, has announced that the company has this year surpassed previous highest-sales and fastest-selling records worldwide.
The company has launched a new video showcasing what it describes as one of its "strongest years," with a diverse range of farming sims, RPGs, action games and fighting games appearing across PC and consoles.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, which only launched last month, has already topped 500,000 sales, while Granblue Fantasy: Versus, the North American console debut of Cygames’ hit RPG, Granblue Fantasy, reached 450,000 sales globally. The company also reports that STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town has already sold over 200,000 copies on Switch alone in North America.
"This was an incredible year for us, and represents one of the more diverse lineups of games we’ve had," says XSEED Games President, Ken Berry. "Between being able to release titles long in development to releasing fresh surprises, we hope that our games have helped people stay entertained through what has been a challenging year. We want to thank our fans for all their support and we look forward to a new year, and new surprises."
XSEED has also already announced several games for next year; Switch owners will be particularly interested in STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town and Rune Factory 5, both scheduled for 2021 launches on Nintendo's platform. More info on these and "other exciting new titles" will be shared in the coming months.

Keep those Switch ports coming, XSEED.
sakuna is a great game
Bought all three games in the article and have rune factory and olive town preordered. Good times!
Wait Uppers is on PC? May not get it on the vita then...
But the internet told me third party software don't sell well on switch..
@kobashi100 It's so simple though. Nintendo gamers exclusively buy Nintendo games. 3rd party games on Switch sell so well because the Switch is in a constant state of drought. /s
I had no idea about the split that made Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon two different companies until I saw it in an NL video. I've played Harvest Moon on 3ds before but now I want to give Story of Seasons a try on Switch...However, I'm still pretty addicted to AC:NH.
How is Granblue Versus for those who have played it? The price rarely drops, and it seems to be light on content with lots of dlc ;/
@JHDK Looking back the change of developer seems obvious. Just look at how Harverst Moon 3D looked.
The fact that we have multiple series of games being farming sims competing is a good thing and the latest Harvest Moon game looks like it improved from that "mobile phone look" too. But seeing Natsume taking advantage of the Harvest Moon name and people thinking that it is the same series when in reality it's a different one seems quite scummy to me.
I really liked Friends of Mineral Town. I did my first "quick" playthrough for just 20 hours until I got married, but I intend on going back for a fresh farm and really finding everything.

They came under fire last year for not properly crediting their localization staff on some past games.
