Re: Video: Masahiro Sakurai Talks About Frame Rates In Games

@Tailesque When I go between games that run at 60 and games that run at 30, the ones at 30 look jarring and abrupt. If what you were saying were actually true, then 60 FPS would also look jarring and abrupt.

The human eye can see up to 60FPS, but the brain is capable of seeing more, and the eye is simply transferring the image to the brain, which is doing the actual processing. This is why people see a difference when they are playing at higher FPS and higher refresh rates. A very simplified why, but this is a comments section.

@victordamazio Thank you!! You took the words right out of my mouth. This is especially true for any type of game other than RPGs or visual novels, where lower frame rates matter less. If the game has any type of action in it, 60FPS should be the standard, and in current year it’s more than achievable!

@Kid_Sickarus @majorplotflaw

I literally bought this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09G6KJQ78/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Added an extra piece of wood to it so I could have the 8bitdo arcade stick at the ready.

Then I attached a 24" Asus Tuf gaming monitor (with built in speakers) to this arm:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AI2YGK4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The PC is a cheap this thing:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084KJ6T1L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It runs BARELY up to Gamecube, so I can play Soul Calibur 2 and everything below. Sorry for lack of pics, but it's not that fancy lol. I have a small stool with it so I can play seated. The monitor on the arm rotates for TATE mode shmups.

I'm only 5' 6", so the table I chose was based on my height, so keep that in mind!

I live in a very small place, so I built it to accommodate my living area. It also brings me a great amount of joy, because I love the feeling of sitting down at an arcade for a quick shmup or beat 'em up. Since it runs Windows, I put a cheap keyboard and mouse so I can get stuff started. Other people use Batocera for such set ups, but I find that operating system lacking when it comes to running windows games like Cyber Shadow. Sorry for the huge post, but I hope you find this helpful!

I built my ultimate arcade machine last month. Converted a small table to house a mini PC and put a rotating monitor on an arm, upgraded an 8-bitdo joystick with sanwa gear, updated another 8-bitdo joystick to have an Odin control pad...it’s really sweet for plug and play emulation.

That being said, the only DDR machine they made is micro?!

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Has Leaked And Is Fully Playable On The Steam Deck

@OldMcGroin Thing is, my original comment was talking about Steam, and not the Steam-deck. If I go to the Steam website right now, Yuzu doesn't pop up in the search, and probably with good reason. Are you sure you're using an official steam store page? It doesn't seem to make sense that a company that is so against piracy has an emulator for a modern console on it. Unless the Steam Deck uses a different level of curation, and is considered open-source? I dunno, your comment sounds really fishy, honestly.
