@Cia I criticize it all the time. Vocally. On the Steam forums. Where it's on topic
Mainly because I'm not emotionally attached to the games I like, and I can recognize what they do well and what they don't nail.
Anyway, this BOTW trailer is definitely reeking of reused assets. I also think it's funny that their best idea they put forward is that weird platform elevator/climbing thing. Not sure what's going on, there.
@johnvboy I guess it wouldn't be an issue if it didn't basically look identical to the first game. I would be interested in seeing if they do anything to differentiate it from BOTW, but right now I'm not seeing it.
@Bret Hey bro, I already said not to get in my face because I don't like your favorite game. Take a mint and cool off. If you didn't care, you wouldn't be replying to me so much.
@mrMike No. Bad. I know that nostalgia goggles blinds most of the fanbase. It's impossible to even have the discussion without people getting emotional trauma that someone doesn't like their favorite thing.
@Bret Fanboys gotta fanboy. Of course it's a bad game, because modern gaming has overtaken it in every single way. Also funny that you're defending Nintendo's garbage with a spinoff and not a main release. Unless Tears of the Kingdom is a spinoff, in which case who cares.
@-wc- I'm sharing my own personal preference, which has nothing to do with that of others. You don't have to take it there in your mind. Maybe go outside a little more, see some sun!
@Ryan_Again Well no. He's not stating an opinion. He said, "I prefer my games to be made by people who know what they are doing." Now we are going into a measure of skill, and if you are doing that, you better have some skill to back it up. His comment went beyond an opinion there.
And how rude to just go up to a stranger and say to them "what you said is irrelevant." Try learning to socialize a little better, bro! iT's JuSt mY OpiNiOn ThO
@Daniel36 That's an interesting way to describe message boards. I use them like a playground
I do find it incredibly funny that 95% (ish) of comments go unread and unreplied to, while very few comments actually make connections such that short conversations occur.
Makes me wonder of the usefulness of maintaining such boards, at all!
@r_p_trzy Wait a sec, if they release the Castlevania DS collection, they need to patch the hell out of the first game. The final release has a bug that lowers your drop rate and minimizes how well the luck stat functions for soul drops. Not to mention, they would need to get rid of the glyph drawing, since that’s just a bad gimmick. Oh wait, rom hackers already fixed all those issues! Never mind
@ThePizzaCheese They are sometimes true, yes. Some of these leaks have been correct, in the past. Even still, it feels akin to gambling, so I always wait for official statements before getting interested.
@Kilroy Color saturation hurts my eyes. It looks muddy, in terms of over-all fidelity; not good for a game where you need to be able to see what you are doing. The general presentation is ugly. Good OSTs? I’m assuming you mean shmup OSTs, yeah?
Ikaruga
Raiden 3&4
Axelay
Gradius 3
Gleylancer
R-Type 3
Batsugun
Literally any Touhou shmup from 1-10
Mushihimesama 1+2
Espgaluda 1+2
Dodonpachi series
DeathSmiles
To name a few off the top of my head. There are others that I would rate higher than Radiant Silvergun, but I think I’ve named enough.
@Rykdrew I appreciate the actual response! Every time I try this game because people gush so hard over it, it never gels with me. Maybe if they update it I may find it more to my liking. You never know!
@MontyCircus Thanks for sharing a vote, but I'm wondering how many people are choosing this game out of nostalgia, rather than actually what is in front of them. I don't think it's aged well.
@PanFriedSoup I mean I pop in occasionally to oggle at people who still think buy a Switch is a good idea. Other than that, it's been fairly dead lately.
@A7ibaba Yeah, that would be insane. And the sad thing is, there are many people who would buy their next console and buy just as many games, regardless of the feature. I'm hoping (for you guys, I'm not buying anymore consoles as long as I live) that they make the right decision, moving forward.
With whatever hardware Nintendo chooses to adopt next-gen, if they don't do backwards compatibility with current Switch titles, that would be a HUGE slap in the face to customers.
We aren't talking about NES to SNES and so-on, where the cartridges and such created complexities for BC. Current-gen systems are so sophisticated that there's no excuse not to include backwards compatibility as a standard, especially moving forward. This would be especially true if Nintendo eschewed physical hardware and went pure digital.
Still, even with current cartridge sizes, they could make it happen if they really wanted to. The REAL question is, will they do a customer-friendly next-gen system with BC, or cave in to the fear that nobody will buy the newer games on the new system if they include BC?
@Tailesque You're saying that the human eye can't see beyond 30 FPS and tries to adjust 60 back to 30, did you forget you said that? I'm talking about the following statement you made:
"Even if 60 is what you're used to, your brain and eyes can and will adjust to 30fps."
That's copied from your post I was replying to. You did say that, right? I'm saying that statement is incorrect.

@Bret If you don't care, why do you keep replying to me bro? Let it go man, you're getting weird over someone disliking your favorite thing.
Re: Poll: So, How Are You Pronouncing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Tears, because the reused assets are making my eyes water.

@Antraxx777 It sounds wayyyy cooler than the way it was portrayed in the trailer, thats for sure!

@Cia Elden Ring reused tons of assets, yes. I would criticize it for the same sin, but that would be off-topic, now wouldn't it

@Ralizah I mean, yeah. Some people enjoy playing bad games, so I get you.

REUSED ASSETS: THE GAME SERIES
Seriously. That might as well be a BOTW trailer. C'mon.
Re: TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection Has Potential For A 2000s Sequel, Says Konami Producer
@Serpenterror Emulating is the only way to play Turtles in Time?
And no, I don't want more games from the devs.
1) I'm satisfied with what I have.
2) It's not even the same dev team that worked the game to begin with. Different dev team, entirely.

@Slowdive Hilariously, while tons of people jumped to defend the game, nobody stated what the game did better. Interesting
Re: Treasure's "Highly Requested" Title Has Been Leaked
@Oppyz666 I mean, weapons are good, but the OST is garbage, and the game itself is an eye-sore.

Re: Feature: 12 Nintendo Games That Deserve An HD-2D Remake
@zbinks Samus Returns was a remake of II, and the reason we (unfortunately) got the series going the direction Dread took it.
But a proper, pixel remake of 2 with slightly updated gameplay would be a welcome sight.

@Sonos Nintendo is well on its way, following in SE’s steps. SE is simply further along in the process.

Re: Video: Masahiro Sakurai Talks About Frame Rates In Games
@NeonPizza LOL Agreed. I didn't even bother with his replies, so I don't know what he said.
But I agree, 30FPS, while adequate, should no longer be sought of as a standard. Games at 60 just look so nice, and are much easier on the eyes.
