Re: Random: Valve's Latest Steam Deck Trailer Briefly Shows A Switch Emulator

BloodNinja

@MarioFan432 I'm fairly certain that the whole point of marketing in general, is to be suggestive. Again, there's nothing wrong with it as that is what every company will do with successful marketing campaigns.

@Astral-Grain LOL Thanks

@Shepdawg1 That'll be interesting to see how it turns out! It's also possible there were errors in the vid regarding other details, but who knows!

Re: Random: Valve's Latest Steam Deck Trailer Briefly Shows A Switch Emulator

@MarioFan432 Valve can totally promote emulation. Take for example Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. On any of those systems, you can emulate the other using a virtual machine. So you can run Windows on a Mac, or run Linux on Windows for example. It's done in technology businesses around the world. Nobody bats an eye about emulating entire OSes.

Thing with Yuzu, by itself, it's totally fine. And Valve is simply advertising "hey, this thing runs on our OS." Because Yuzu is built from scratch, Nintendo CANNOT take legal action against the emulation creator, because it is now their own official program data. They also cannot take legal action because an emulator runs on an OS. Otherwise, Microsoft and the community that update Linux would also be sued by Nintendo, because emulators have been running on Windows, Linux and Mac for literal decades. That hasn't, and will not ever happen. I highly recommend you read up on your local laws about the subject, because you seem to be missing a lot of info!

And why take umbrage with it, now? Nintendo Life has promoted several emulation devices in their articles. Do you want Nintendo to sue Nintendo Life?

@GrailUK To be more specific, I mean that Nintendo studies their audience and caters their advertising to them. Each company will show different stuff, but in the end, the strategy is the same: study the audience, then cater the adverts to them. Valve knows people are clamoring for the Deck due to emulation, so that's just their way of catering to their fans. That's all I meant.

Re: Review: Overwatch 2 - Solid F2P Shooting That Doesn't Yet Justify The '2'

BloodNinja

@Keveseunie Yeah, I can think of all those other "failed" F2P games that use the exact same business model that are raking in millions right now. In other genres like fighting games, that didn't stop Street Fighter V from flourishing. Every new season, characters were gated behind paywalls or in-game currency, and those characters were bought and used. And that game wasn't even F2P.

Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Teaser Trailer Is Finally Here

BloodNinja

All the nopes. Hollywood Mario = nope. I’ve been too disappointed by too many video game movies to contain a shred of hype for this one. If you enjoy it, then yay! But this looks yucky.

I did like the penguins, I would rather see a movie that revolves around these cute little things instead.

Re: Random: Modder Creates Stunning Portable SNES, And We Want One

BloodNinja

I don’t think I’ve seen a person in my vicinity playing a Switch in public. To all the people crying about lack of portability for this modders work, do you actually sit outside in the public playing your Switch?

If you’re traveling it just gets shoved in a bag and you’ll get to plug it in somewhere, anyway.

Re: Fired Nintendo Worker Comes Forward With An Account Of Their Dismissal

BloodNinja

@Wexter When people are this negative towards me over opinions I have over Nintendo as a corporation, of course I will respond in a dismissive manner. Too much fanboyism permeates this site. It's blind and it's toxic and frankly, I'm not that interested. Pot calling kettle black, honestly.

I honestly don't need your feedback.

An attack on Nintendo in a chat forum is not an attack on your person. Severe brand loyalty can make it seem so, though.

Re: We've Played Sonic Frontiers, But What Did We Think Of It?

BloodNinja

@WaffleRaptor01 So if you're going to dismiss the people who make the game, why should they acknowledge your desire for the types of games that you want? We love sitting here making demands of game devs without acknowledging their plight.

Like I said, these things don't exist in a vacuum. We literally have games that are fantastic graphically, deliver a fun gameplay experience, have good scripts, etc. There's a very broad spectrum of the different types of games that exist. Not every game needs to be top tier in each category; some are expressions of the artist themselves. If it doesn't gel with you, simply play something else because that particular game just isn't for you.

Re: We've Played Sonic Frontiers, But What Did We Think Of It?

BloodNinja

@Dizavid Some people find high graphical fidelity to be part of the fun. If you don't, you can't just say "IDGAF" and blow off all the people that enjoy stuff like that. You're essentially pissing on the artists and animators that put together all the great art that we see appearing in games. They don't exist in a vacuum: you can still play low-poly games that focus on gameplay mechanics while other people can enjoy games that put more focus on mesmerizing graphics. There's literally room for both.

Re: We've Played Sonic Frontiers, But What Did We Think Of It?

BloodNinja

As a non-Sonic fan, this actually looks fairly appealing. The background scenery looks great, and the movement mechanics look fluid. I would try it just to see what it's like.

That being said, can we do away with the weird dangly arm behind the back running at some point? It's not the right representation of the way ninjas/samurai ran to conserve energy. Whenever I see it in gaming, it looks limp and awkward.
