Re: Review: Tunic - Old-School Adventuring With Nods To Zelda, Unforgiving And Ingenious

@chipia It's a preferential thing, no sense in discussing it, as these things always devolve into arguments. I like cheese, but someone else may hate cheese. You just leave those things alone lol.

@Diogmites Superman 64 is SO GOOD it wrapped around and became the worst game in existence.

@LastFootnote I like cheese. Do you like cheese? It doesn't matter, because our experiences cannot coincide.

Same with games. I really like Tunic, I really dislike BOTW. It's a matter of taste.

Re: Talking Point: Which Zelda Game Should You Play First?

BloodNinja

The first game on the NES is the most accessible, followed by A Link to the Past. The rest of the series is pretty meh outside those two games, and largely worth skipping. Minish Cap was ok for a single playthrough, but lacks the replayability of the games mentioned in the former.

Re: NPD Results Show PlayStation 5 Outsold Switch In August (North America)

@Drac_Mazoku I mean, I happen to agree with you, though I put my Switch in the literal trash last year due to the company being overly litigious and not playing fair with their employees. My happiness can always be had, and it doesn't have to be at the cost of Nintendo exploiting it's workforce and suing every person that uses a JPG of their assets. (last part's a joke)

@johnvboy It would be a HUGE slap in the face to not go full backwards compatible for the next few console generations. People are spending SO MUCH MONEY on this stuff, and companies are taking advantage of people, in this way.

@HammerKirby Nah, it's not that simple, anyway. Most games on Switch look and run much worse than their PS3 counterparts. The performance for Skyrim is staggeringly bad on Switch, as an example that was on both. At least on the PS3, you can download a patch to fix that.

Anyway, too many variables to just say one is better than the other. You would have to look at individual games, but my money is always going to be on a dedicated console, rather than a hybrid piece of hardware.

Re: Exclusive: 'Penko Park' Combines Pokémon Snap's Cuteness With Majora's Mask Creepiness

@steventonysmith I’m an old-school Metroid fan. I hate unnecessary fluff in any game, not just Metroid. I like booting a game up and jumping in, preferably with as little exposition as possible. Super Metroid took care of it all in the beginning which is great. Basically, what I’m getting at is I enjoy playing games, not watching them. Dread has I think 90-120 minutes of cut scenes if my memory serves me. Most of which are stupid shots of Samus walking through a door and other such stuff.

@steventonysmith If you want lol, but I'm not going into a "point by point" with people who want to say that my preferences are wrong. You don't know me, so you don't know my preferences. Keep that in mind.

-I don't like the studio that made the game. I disliked their rendition of Samus Returns.

  • I did not like being forced into the emmi encounters; poor design choice.
  • Too many forced and unskippable cut scenes
  • Too many pointless or redundant abilities, especially ones that were lifted from other games.
  • The plot twist towards the end was stupid.

To name a few.
