@Luigi_Skywalker Out of curiosity, how do you prepare your scones?

Movies are good and all that, but it’s the games where the magic really happens. It would be grand to see what the Mario Odyssey team have been up to

@Sonos Yes, very much so, only in vibrancy in colour, it’s a LG 4K Oled, I’m not sure if it makes the picture quality higher by upscaling it as I’m not that massively tech savvy, but overall the the colours are lovely. I think I need to change my TV settings to be more vibrant as I have it set to filmmaker mode which is slightly more darker. But even without gaming, the picture quality is lovely and the colours are very rich

Good to see the Oled model doing so well and rightly too, playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land certainly pushes those vibrant colours on the Oled screen. I also recently bought an Oled TV last year but I’d say the colours seem more vibrant on the Switch

@Orokosaki You need to calm down, there’s nothing wrong in wanting better graphics in games and performance. It’s why you own a switch after all, or am I assuming you only have the original NES to play on..

I do miss the big reveals at e3. I remember the Zelda reveal of Twilight Princess which is worth watching on YouTube. Classic days of the fans enjoying the show and when the Revolution was first shown which would end up being the Wii and the following year with Mario Galaxy.

But I hope we do get a direct from Nintendo this June , but then again with e3 out of the picture this year, Nintendo might use this to their advantage and not show us anything, not until later this year anyway. But having said that I’m hoping we might see something of Zelda, either Breath of the Wild 2, or even a new Top-down Zelda and the supposed new Donkey Kong game that is rumoured to be in development.

@nocdaes did you mention a new 2D Zelda? I can only dream. I’d love to see a whole new original top down Zelda which isn’t a remake or anything seen before. Change it like they did with the 3D Zelda Breath of the Wild

The saying “selling like hot cakes” is way to overused on here. I don’t know any place of business that actually sells hot cakes!
The switch is selling exceptionally well as it should.

@Tempestryke I don’t get why people take issue about people hoping for a new console that would have upgraded innards that would help games run smoother and make them look much more prettier, especially after the older system has been on the market for over five years with its old technology inside

@Mynemo it wouldn’t be 4K on the portable, only 4K support when docked

@Yosher I didn’t know he had much of an influence on the Paper Mario games, obviously I know he still dabbles in the development of the 3D Mario titles. I know he objected to the Backstory of Roselina in Mario Galaxy, which was Yoshiaki Koizumi’s Idea. A lot of people were split of the story. I loved it

@Stubborn_Monkey well apparently “rumour has it” that EPD is working on a new Donkey Kong game, the same team that worked on Odyssey, but some rumours have also stated a new team was selected from within EPD to make this new Donkey Kong game.

@Strictlystyles yeah I’ll keep to my hopium as I’m fully aware Nintendo can’t rely on the current switch forever and will want to keep momentum going and will need a more powerful system!

@RPGreg2600 what makes you think the switch is only half way through it’s lifespan? 2025 is way off, Nintendo are about making money, switch sales would have dried up by then.

@VoidofLight you could be right, depending if Nintendo have been stockpiling. But I also think it’s coming sooner due to the Nvidia leak

I still believe we will see a new switch in early 2023, hopefully with the next 3D Mario. As amazing as switch sales are doing now, they will peak this year

@CANOEberry To be honest, Nintendo in the past had always released major new hardware every five years or so and updated versions of hardware throughout their life cycle. I don’t know why people have so many issues with new hardware. People tend to be happy upgrading their phones each year which cost over £1000

Going by the Nvidia leak, it’s obvious a more powerful switch is coming. I’d say by early 2023. And yes I’d definitely upgrade.

@TheBigK Said the head of Nintendo. But you can guarantee a more powerful switch or their next system will be out long before 2027, the switch sales will peak this year and Nintendo will not be able to rely on sales of 10 year old system by 2027

Fantastic game, I wasn’t the biggest Kirby fan but this has been a delight to play, some of the level designs are fantastic and could give Mario a run for his money!

I would have thought the next big Mario would be saved for Nintendo’s next system, I’m assuming that we have another year and a half of the current switch. Nintendo will need some big hitters for the next system or a more powerful switch

The Legend of Zelda: Above and Beyond

Seriously, I was hoping we would see this sooner bearing in mind it’s using the same engine and assets as Breath of the Wild. I hope the map is going to be changed a lot.

@Deljo I wouldn’t expect to see another mainline Mario game for the switch now. I’m sure it’s well into development and will probably come out for the switch’s successor. Though I could be wrong and Nintendo might shock us with a new 3D Mario game or have dlc for Mario Odyssey

A new Wario Land, it’s a long stretch

Interesting, I wonder though if it could be the supposed new Donkey Kong game?

I’m glad Nintendo did so well, but I’m getting itchy feet for what is next for Nintendo.

@FlashmanHarry see I can’t see that happening. Nintendo typically likes to have a system selling game available with a launch of a new system, normally Zelda or Mario. If Zelda is out next year then it won’t be Zelda and I’d expect to see the next 3D Mario game out by December 2022 ready for the movie launch, possibly even sooner. I think we could be seeing the next system by late next year

@PessitheMystic I assume it was probably about Chris Pratt being some kind of supposed “homophobe” because he belongs to some church or religion, and like most all religions in this day and age, if you a part of one, or conservative or republican and in the celebrity spotlight, you should be cancelled and subjected to hatred, except Islam, as nobody will shout about Homophobia within Islam, celebrities and politicians who are Muslim get a free ride with any scepticism in that religion. The liberals stay rather quiet with that one. ..

But this is the age we live in now, cancel and destroy someone because why not. I’m seeing this happen all the time and it’s vile, it’s bullying and it’s oppressive, and it’s coming from the people who believe themselves to be for the better in the world, the progressives liberals.

The world is going insane with all this madness of political correctness and it’s becoming toxic, it’s making the world an uglier place. @GregamanX Oh I definitely don’t think he meant that, I think we could be looking at a Mario game similar to Bowser’s Fury perhaps, expanding the open-world type of Mario game. There are two Mario teams if I’m correct, a team that make the 3D titles and the 2D Mario team.

I would love to see the kind of dungeons from TP incorporated into the next Breath of the Wild. One of my favourite Zelda games.

@cupcakefae thankfully the problem was me not realising that you had to decorate both the kitchen and reception area and that’s why I was so confused. Still strange though that there was no option to finish up and complete later to come out of that.

@mwxmwx I did, how embarrassing. I really thought there was a problem with the game, then I realised there was the kitchen area that had to be decorated. Though I still say there should of been an option to come out and finish later.

I can just see there being more “disliked” comments in the comments section in future

@Jokerwolf that would make it the longest gap we have had without having a 3D Mario game. That would be 6 years after Mario Odyssey. We have had a 3D Mario within every five years since Mario 64, with the exception of Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario 3D land for the 3DS which came out within a couple of years of one another.

Though I have a feeling that the next 3D Mario might be held back for the next switch system which will eventually come out. I’d say either late 2022 or early 2023

@T317 You’re absolutely right, some of those kingdoms didn’t really have much going on, the Cap Kingdom was very underwhelming considering it was the first kingdom. The Cloud kingdom was ridiculously stupid. I even think the Cascade Kingdom was lacking.

I’d love to see a 3D Mario game that is completely open, such as Bowsers Fury, but on a much grand scale, throw in a bit of Breath of the Wild kind of exploring, visiting different lands, either by boat or on some kind of animal or foot, have different bosses in different lands, even have night and day and weather cycles which can change enemies and characters depending on the cycle. Say at night time, Boo’s and stuff come out.
I think Mario is capable of this now.

@Nintendo_Thumb that’s very interesting. I’d love to see some kind of simulation on something like that. I remember watching this video some years ago and being amazed by it, thinking Nintendo would hire this guy or so something similar but they never did.

I think I have encountered a bug on the happy home paradise. Lottie will not let me come out the restaurant part of the island, I have used all the items that has been asked of me in the kitchen area and yet she still says it’s not good enough, I am unable to leave the location and come out, I have to restart my game, as soon as I go back to the happy home paradise, it takes me right back to the restaurant again.

A store upgrade would be nicer, with the ability to purchase more furniture items.
Though having said that, I’ve updated my game recently and yet no Roost at my museum so not sure what’s happened there

I don’t know much about investments and shares, but can’t Nintendo just buy its shares back from investors?

I’d rather a new Donkey Kong game.

I loved the game but I also understand that some of the kingdoms felt a little rushed, Cap Kingdom had nothing interesting about it considering it was the first kingdom you get to, the Cascade kingdom is relatively small for the type of kingdom it is and didn’t offer very much, I just wanted more going on with that kingdom which didn’t do it for me. The cloud kingdom was boring. The ruined kingdom could have been so much more. The best kingdoms I had to say which stood out was the Sand kingdom, Wooded Kingdom and the Seaside kingdom.

Though I’d love to see the first true open-world Mario game. Traveling and platforming in huge areas, solving puzzles and beating bosses of certain areas and finding Secret places…maybe like finding jungle areas where you find Donkey Kong, or mines filled with rare diamonds and gems and finding out that it’s Wario.

There’s so many possibilities with Mario. He really is Nintendo’s toy box of imagination and ideas

All games look nicer on the Oled. Though I did notice replaying Mario Odyssey again recently on the switch oled that the grass looked a bit odd in the Cascade Kingdom, kind of a blurred or fuzzy effect which I never noticed before. But those rich and vivid colours are very nice to look at.
