Re: Nintendo President Says Switch Production Is "Uncertain" Next Year

@NEStalgia You raise good points, but like I said before in another comment, what’s going on now has happened before, we had a recession back in 2009, that started in the USA I believe. Prices are extremely high at the moment, gas, energy, cost of living, food prices, the domino effect from the war of Ukraine, but somehow people still find funds for things that are fun

I’m going by Nintendo's history of failures and game releases for this next switch.

The five to six year game release of Zelda and Mario, Nintendo will want those big guns for a next system, without those games there would be a five year wait, that’s assuming that Breath of the Wild 2 only comes out on the Switch, and that another 3D Mario comes out on the Switch. So come 2024 or 2025 and Nintendo releases a new system, there’s no Mario and there’s no Zelda at the door, and Nintendo tends to follow a trend with Mario, they tend to like to break the mould with a new system with a new Mario that stirs a lot of hype, it’s been the same since Mario 64.

But if there’s no grand titles then Nintendo will suffer for it like the past

3DS suffered as it came out too early, (not enough games)

Wii U bad advertising, not even Nintendo knew what to do with it, no real game to showcase its true power

The Switch which had games at the door for the ready and it was a system that everyone knew. Some would say that there still wasn’t enough games at the start of the switch’s release. I remember people moaning about it on Facebook

I truly believe that games are being held back, for a possibility of a duel release for the next system, not a “Pro” model but the successor, I believe it will be backward compatible, the the Mario movie will tie in with the next 3D Mario game ready for the release of the next system which will have plenty of attention because of the movie.

The only thing that might cause delays is with the chip shortages but we know companies are stockpiling what they can get.

@SwitchForce I don’t understand it, I like change, I like seeing the future here and now. Gaming is meant to bring people together not to pull people apart because they have a desire for newer and better things.

I know we are in the midst of a crises all over the world but these things going on in the world have been happening for years anyway, wars, financial recessions, instability, and yet consoles still sell, smart phones still sell, computers, cars, houses, Nintendo are no different, they can’t ride of the sales of the switch forever, switch sales are starting to slow.

@johnvboy it won’t be another Zelda game, botw2 would have just come out on the switch, it would take another five to six years to Develop another mainline Zelda title, especially at the rate it’s taken this game to come out and that’s using the same engine and assets from the first game, in a sense they could have started from scratch again but that’s for another topic, unless of course it’s a top-down Zelda game. That would be fantastic

Re: Nintendo President Says Switch Production Is "Uncertain" Next Year

@NEStalgia to be honest there has been many recessions within the last 30 years and consoles still sold, even when there was a video game crash in the 80’s Nintendo found a way of turning that back to form and gaming became massive again.

I’ve noticed some people on these comment sections seem very angst on here regarding people wanting a newer system. There’s nothing wrong in that, I don’t see why it needs a degree of sarcasm or disrespect to other people just because they want something new.

Re: Nintendo President Says Switch Production Is "Uncertain" Next Year

@johnvboy I’m hoping at least 130 million sales easy.

I do worry though how Nintendo will transition for a new console, will it have some kind of flare or a typical Nintendo gimmick that will sell it, will it just be a more powerful system?

I mean the main thing is having games ready at the door for a release. That’s why I think we may get a successor sooner than we think, It takes roughly five years or more for a new Zelda game, 3D Mario was typically five years wait also, with the exception of the port of Mario 3D World and Bowser’s Fury, the Mario team have been quiet for nearly five years, we have had a few 3D Mario games now on the Switch. I can’t see Nintendo brining out anymore titles from these teams on the current switch, apart from Zelda Botw2 which we know is coming.

If Nintendo bring out a switch 2 in either 2024 or 2025, there would be an issue with game releases as they would have just recently come out on the normal switch a year or two before.

I’m going by game releases and how they usually plan. If Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 isn’t a duel release, if we get a big 3D Mario on the current switch within the year, the next system would have no big hitters at launch, unless there’s a big new Mario Kart, or Animal Crossing or Smash Bros, but the main line Zelda and Mario would be missing for the first few years

I’m confused with Nintendo recently, we know they have been stockpiling raw materials, doubling from previous years, it’s very easy to buy a switch anywhere, sales are slowing which have nothing to do with semiconductor component part shortages, most people that wanted a switch now have one, there are enough switch consoles out there, probably more than enough, so what on earth is Nintendo sitting on with its stock piles, it’s certainly not for a switch which is slowing down in sales. I still think Switch 2, or whatever it will be named, will be out next year, I’d say possibly April with a duel release of Breath of the Wild 2, throw in a brand new 3D Mario with the movie release. Plenty of momentum for a next system. And no it won’t be a switch pro.

Re: Playing Games Probably Won't Make You Feel Worse... Or Better, Says New Oxford Uni Study

BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed

@AlexHarford I hope you are feeling a lot better now. I hope you have people to talk to, because that’s so important.

Mine came on from years of bottling up emotions and working around toxic people in a work environment, surprisingly I worked in care and supporting adults with autism, we was kind of left to our own devices at the start of the pandemic, it was extremely hard and my dad had a stroke last year after having open heart surgery which was meant to save his life, at some point in recovery he had the stroke which has left him permanently disabled, a combination of all that and again working with toxic staff just came to a boiling point, it got that bad that all I could think about was ending it all.

At first I couldn’t enjoy anything that I used to love and enjoy, it was as if something In me had died, and gradually, slowly over weeks and months I stared to enjoy things again. I’m still not 100% and the result of all that has caused other problems with me emotionally but I know exploring Hyrule helped, strangely enough I go Lynel hunting, monster camp searching. Also I love other games, Mario being another favourite.

I’m a lot better now, some days can be a struggle but I don’t ever want to feel like that again.

But I really hope you are feeling better

I remember that sunset in Sirena Beach, the water effects were so great for its time. I loved the setting and enjoyed that some of the levels could be played in the evening. The hotel was pretty good too, jumping into the statue of Boo’s mouth, it was very imaginative. Only thing I didn’t like was the boat mechanic where you needed FLUDD to manoeuvre around and that level where you had to get Yoshi to that island with the pipe. That level was awful

Re: Random: Animal Crossing's Isabelle Reminds Us To Keep Hydrated During Heatwave

BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed

@CharlieGirl I had to buy a small air conditioning unit a few years ago, it’s one of those units where you have to have a pipe which needs to go through a window, only because I used to work nights and in the summer the heat that would penetrate through my blackout curtains would make me sick waking up from a night shift, I would wake up delirious and feeling exhausted, least to say that penguin air conditioning unit has been a life saver for me these last few days with the heat we have had in the UK, I have been to Thailand and Turkey in their summer and the heat we had here must have been hotter than that.

Re: Nintendo Has Filed A New Trademark For The Donkey Kong Series

BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed

@Stubborn_Monkey you’re cool, I love hearing peoples thoughts and opinions, sometimes there can be confusion though on forums with differences and options.

If we get another Odyssey game on the switch I’d be more than happy, I’d also be happy for something brand new on a more powerful system too. I’m happy either way. Sometimes Nintendo are extremely very hard to predict and it’s why I love talking about where they will be in the future. I guess I’m a person who likes things to be changed, so I know Odyssey sold over 22 million copies, I wouldn’t want sequels and sequels all the time, because we would never have anything new. But that’s just my thinking. Though I do think Cappy will remain a permanent character in the next Mario, even if it’s not called Odyssey

Re: Nintendo Appears To Be Stockpiling Raw Materials, Doubles Its 2019 Spending On Supplies

BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed

Well we know something is being prepared due to the Nvidia leaks and it certainly will not be a “switch pro” the chip that Nintendo will be using will be too much an upgrade for a pro model. It’s going to be extremely good for a handheld. My guess is, Nintendo are stockpiling chips and materials ready for the next switch, they obviously don’t want a Sony situation. I’m certain it will be ready for spring 2023 ready for BoTW 2 and the next 3D Mario
