Ahead of the release of Mario Strikers: Battle League this June on the Switch, Canadian-based developer Next Level Games has put out the call for new team members.
In a rare social media update, it's mentioned how it's currently seeking Performance Engineers and Tools Engineers. If you head on over to its official website, you'll also see it's seeking a Junior VFX Artist and a Character Artist for future projects.
Unfortunately, the positions don't specifically say what the next project is from this developer. Instead, here's part of the studio description featured on each application:
"At NLG, we believe that a project finds success when we all work together in harmony. Therefore, we place careful consideration to building and nurturing an environment where everyone feels welcome and has fun in the process of achieving our shared goals."
When Mario Strikers: Battle League arrives, it'll be the third entry in the series. The first game was originally released on GameCube in 2005. It follows on from Next Level's release of Luigi's Mansion 3 in 2019, and Nintendo's acquisition of the company at the beginning of last year.
Will you be picking up Mario Strikers: Battle League on the Switch? What would you like to see next from this developer? Leave a comment below.

This could mean one of two things.
Either a new Punch Out or a Transformers: Cybertron Adventures remake.
I really hope we get Transformers: Cybertron Adventures, that game is a masterpiece and the very reason why video games are art.
If only they made a sequel to the best video of all time, Metroid Prime Federation Force, that game deserved to win Game of the Year.
These guys are a solid studio, best of luck finding talent
@HotGoomba Forget Metroid Prime 4, we all need Federation Force 2
Can't wait to see what game they had in-store for the new team.
This is nice to see. I certainly expect, at the same time, that the compensation will match the insane cost of living in a place like Vancouver...
I would want to know what their next game is after Battle League. But for now, I will wait and buy Mario Strikers Battle League soon.
I really hope they make another Punch Out next.
A new Punch-Out!! would be great, but maybe it could be a 3D action-adventure game? Luigi's Mansion 3 has sold over 10 million copies, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land has had great sales too, so it seems there's an audience for that kind of game on the Switch. I also say it because, well, Next Level Games is the only developer I can think of that's capable of making a high-profile Donkey Kong game right now (Retro Studios is busy with Prime 4, and I'm rather sure that EPD is working on Odyssey 2). I think it would be a good choice; DK is popular, 3D platforming / action-adventure games are popular... it would probably sell well.
But hey, if it's a new Punch-Out!!, i'd buy it on release date; they did a great job with the Wii Punch-Out!!. I hope it features old boxers that didn't appear in the Wii game, and that once again a well-known Nintendo character appears as a secret opponent, just like DK in that game (The ideal candidate would be Bowser. Seriously, Bowser as a super-tough, fire-breathing adversary, with claw swipes that can floor you in a single hit, and Bowser Jr. as his cornerman... it would make a great final challenge).
I think it’s only me, but Mario Soccer League is my most anticipated game for this year.
Great studio, would love if their next project is a new Punch-Out!! a few years down the line.
@Clark2k
The same for me, unfortunately we still only have the trailer from the direct but no more information than that...
where is Mario Strikers? there has been no news on the game Since the Direct yet Nintendo are promoting games that are releasing after the June 10, is Strikers Battle League getting delayed?
Punch Out Wii is one of my favorite games of all time. I will never stop wanting a sequel to that. However, I know that whatever Next Level produces will be quality.
This is the chance for me to become the Uncle that works at Nintendo
@Stubborn_Monkey well apparently “rumour has it” that EPD is working on a new Donkey Kong game, the same team that worked on Odyssey, but some rumours have also stated a new team was selected from within EPD to make this new Donkey Kong game.
Mario Strikers BL comes out in a month and still no news since February.
