Re: Owlboy Is Coming to the Switch

Billsama

Oh look! Another quality indie game coming to Switch. Might want o revisit that absurd article you guys write before about Nintendo putting barriers to indie studios. And on that same note, might be a good time for Damo to apologies for attacking regular readers.

Re: Feature: The Growing Pains of Curation on the Nintendo Switch eShop

Billsama

@Damo I think it's cool that you feel proud of having this on the site. After all, this is your site and you and the rest of the team decide the route you want to take with it. I feel this is a very painfully written article that It's definitely not balanced enough. I like Thomas articles the most, that's why I feel I have the right to say this is not one of the best.

There's always a thin line when you give your opinion on something. Specially when you say something positive about anything. There's always people that will think that you don't like criticism and you want to only hear about the good news. That's why I understand your comment about going to Nintendo official site (comment that I found disrespectful and plain stupid). I have nothing against criticism. But when criticism becomes the norm and people looks for negative opinions and give them more importance than they has, ignoring the rest of the picture, just to justify an article, then there's something wrong.

Being a fan is not a thing of black or white. You can detect when a criticism is justified and when is not. And being able to point out when it's not justified does not make you a blind fanboy.

@maceng Pretty assumptions... Let's see, kid. I read the article and you don't need to be a Nintendo employee to give them the benefit of a doubt. We don't know why Axiom Verge is having troubles to get in. We already have Shovel Knight, Isaac, GEM, Wonder Boy and plenty others coming up. So, it is not like Nintendo is blocking indies. A couple of salty devs opinions are not enough to make a case about this.

Everytime there's a curation system, people will get mad. But I prefer to have less but quality games than open the door and have all sort of crappy games on the platform, especially on launch window.

"we are talking about Nindies and Indies with highly regarded games"

Ok, but who? We know Atooi is working on Switch, Image & Forms, Nicalis, Yacht Club Games, Chuckle Fish, 13AM and many other.

Are we suppose to take opinions without a name, over all this others?

Re: Feature: The Growing Pains of Curation on the Nintendo Switch eShop

Billsama

Very weird article @ThomasBW84 There's not enough information to make a proper case here. Especially since all the negative opinions are from "anonymous" sources. Nevertheless, it is clear by the quotes that this devs are frustrated for not been on the first batch of indies on Switch. Maybe their games weren't good enough or maybe weren't complete enough OR maybe they are derivative games similar to a certain IP that Nintendo is planing to resurrect? We won't know without Nintendo's opinion. And since they decided not to comment about it, why publish the article anyway? This was indeed a weird one. Too much sensationalism for an article of yours.

Re: NPD Results Highlight Record-Breaking Nintendo Switch Launch

Billsama

What a time to be a nintendo fan. Nintendo knew they had a winner with the Switch. Can't believe how some folks were complaining for all 2016 because Nintendo was quite and releasing fewer games. Can you see now they were putting all their effords on Switch? It wasn't that hard to figured out.

By the way, in 2 months SLIGY will say "Come back to me on holiday" and then "Come back to me next year" It will be easier to just face the reality, sell that old wii u and buy a Switch already.

Re: Review: Mr. Shifty (Switch eShop)

Billsama

Wow, this was unexpected. Been hearing a lot of good things about it. Didn't seem like the technical issues were that bad. I heard they are working on an update to address those problems. Will the review be updated aswell if that happen?

Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

Billsama

Holding on this one for the moment. I just got Isaac and Wonder Boy AND I'm still playing Zelda. But I'll definitely get MK8 in the coming weeks. Since I'm not one of the 5 people on the world who bought a Wii U, this will be a totally new experience for me and on the best console Nintendo has released in a while.

Re: Preview: Battle Mode is Back On Form in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Billsama

Mario Kart 7 is my most played game on 3DS. It was the only game I kept coming back over and over. And since I skipped Wii U, I couldn't be more excited about Deluxe. Looking forward to all those characters from different franchises and here's hoping we get more at some point.

Re: The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe File Size Speeds Into View

Billsama

Day 1 for me. I'm not that interested in Battle Mode but I've never played Mario Kart 8 before. So this is an obvious one for me. I'm going digital with this one and future releases. Since I always forget to bring 1-2 Switch cart with me everytime I take my Switch out. I realize I'll be better going digital only.

Re: Review: Graceful Explosion Machine (Switch eShop)

Billsama

@roadrunner343 Thanks for that. I was needing a honest opinion like that. I figured I rather wait for the update and play Specter of Torment on 3DS. My sister is also interested on Isaac, so we might get it 50-50. $20 for the game sounds a lot better than $40

Re: Cave Story+ Launches on the Switch on 20th June

Billsama

Can't believe I'm actually considering buying this game again. I played the original version on 3DS and it got me hooked for a while. Tried the + version on steam, but didn't do the trick because it wasn't portable. Here comes the Switch then, but $30 is a bit much.

Same thing with Isaac, I'll love to have it portable but $40 really?

Re: Review: Snake Pass (Switch eShop)

Billsama

I'll hold off for now. I'm still not sure if I want Shovel Knight again or Blaster Master or Greatful Explotion Machine. Probably going to wait until GEM review to decide.

Re: Psyonix Is Evaluating Bringing Rocket League to the Switch

Billsama

Hope Nintendo approach the developers and come to an agreement. This looks like a good fit for the Switch, but apparently most developers are doing this wait and see thing.

Which is understandable but kind of stupid. Waiting for the system to be a hit in order to port their games, but how the system would succeed if it doesn't have games?
