2D brawler Pocket Rumble won't be launching this month, developer Cardboard Robot Games has confirmed.
The title was revealed as part of the Nintendo Switch indie lineup with a release window of this month, but with March about to give way to April, the developer has issued a statement via its Twitter page:
With no release date in sight it might be wise to assume that Pocket Rumble has slipped to later in the year. The Switch version is a console exclusive, but the title is also in active development on PC.

Not sure how to feel about this tbh...
EDIT: I guess I could start by asking "why"?
Hmm, so they were announced by Nintendo they would be out this month, but there is a delay? Unfortunately, Same old Same old
Being unable to comment on the matter, it makes me suspect that it's down to Nintendo trying to have some sort of schedule with their Switch releases and probably not down to the devs at all. They're probably under NDA or something, but wanted to let people know.
Happy for them to take their time. Shame it didn't make their planned window but it'll be ready when it's ready. Plenty of other games to play in the meantime.
Speak for yourselves - my Switch is kinda gathering dust over here. With Shovel Knight completed and Voez only able to keep me busy for so long, I'm kinda drowning here...
Luckily for me, Rain world is finally releasing today but that's a PS4 indie title. But I want to enjoy my Switch some more...
No surprise whatsoever. The game has been on Steam Early Access for over a year, can't see in a finished form to Switch before Steam... either a simultaneous launch is planned or Steam than Switch surely.
I doubt there is anything suspicious here, just the unpredictability of development.
So... is that Tenchi kid some sort of Deer God, or.../
I love how this looks like a Neo Geo Pocket Color game.
I was looking forward to this along with my number of friends that have switches.. still get it when it is released and hopefully not delayed for too long
😞
I wonder if they looked at the list of currently available games on Switch and noticed that it featured a decent selection of retro 2D fighting games in the ACA Neo Geo range and decided to delay the release a bit. Although Hamster are only going to release more of them...
@ThatNyteDaez Dust on your Switch? Already? Must be a very special kind of dust.
noooooooooooooooo....was so lookin' fwd to playing it this month.
Not super suprising seeing that I heard it's still in steam greenlight, for some reason indie fighting games stay the longest in development, Thems Fight'n Herds Skullgirls, and Dive Kick to name a few. It seems like they're always adding characters and fixing mechanics, so I would assume that's what they're doing so no worries from me. Unless it gets delayed till next year I'm not mad, and even if it does there's plenty games in-between and right now I still have Zelda
And they found out now, with 3 days left of March?
Sad, I kept expecting it to launch each week before you guys post the Nintendo Download list, still looking forward to it, just hope it's sooner rather than later!
@0upshroom7 I guess the balancing of the fighters can take a looong time to tweak. Or you could just release the game massively unbalanced and then release a new version which fixes it... Samurai Shodown V Special I'm looking at you (figured I'd give Capcom a break as they're just too easy a target).
I was expecting this. Looking at the latest early access footage, the game is still at version 0.4 and doesn't even have all the animations implemented. It's a real shame since I've been really looking forward to the game, but the delay had to happen.
Edit: heck, even the combo counter displays zero if you go above a nine hit combo. Maybe they didn't expect people to hit over nine, since it requires some very specific setups, but that just goes to show there's still a lot of testing to do.
@ThatNyteDaez snake pass bro. Snake pass
@Physis
Yeah, I've been anticipating this one as well and will wait patiently for it. I owned a Neo Geo Pocket Color (3 with color variations) and all of the fighting games for it 17+ years ago
It still baffles me that SNK hasn't tried doing NGPC collections on the DS/3DS/consoles/PC yet. Maybe it'll finally happen on the Switch as I would love them to work an agreement with Capcom to get Match of the Millennium and Cardfighter's Clash released on newer platforms.
I was holding on Blaster Master Zero because Pocket Rumble was coming. But I might end up getting that one for now.
I can wait. I'm very excited for this game and I don't want them to rush it. I've got some friends who also love fighting games to play it with so I'm gonna have a blast when it releases. I was hoping to have a multiplayer game besides Shovel Knight and the Snipperclips demo to play until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe released but oh well.
Oh nooooo, I wanted it to play with my friends!
Guess I'll have to wait...
And to say that I did some research about it yesterday because I was worried about it... Well, I have the answer now.
Bummer...Out of all the indie releases this month this is the only one I wanted to play... of course it gets delayed, hope all is well with the dev team though.
Why the conspiracy theories? Games get delayed all the time.
I am disappointed, but I'd rather they get it right on release.
Sucks. I was eyeing this one
I was hoping to get it, and the nintendo website still says March
Please don't cancel.
