Re: By The Way, The Joy-Con Grip Bundled With Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Your Joy-Cons

Billsama

Oh Nintendo, sometimes I think you like to be pointed out.

Anyway, judging by all this cost cutting I think the console itself might be a very good piece of software. They let some features out in order to keep the price as low as possible. I can imagine folks getting mad if the console cost more than $300. And they wouldn't understand the extra price was for all those little details like charging grip and pack in games.

@Mizar I have always found it curious how people dismiss as blind fanatism opinions that are different from their. This is about opinions mate, you have your and I have mine. You sound blinded by your own by the way, at the point that you are talking about fascism in a gaming board. Learn to respect others opinions, even if they are different from what you think.

I know that Nintendo is a company in the business of making money. I'm not defending their interest, I'm not a blind fanatics. I just happen to think different from you. I see a system with a lot of potencial, a system I will like to play and games I'm excited about. Why can negative people like you understand that is a perfectly valid opinion without thinking we must be fool sheep blindly following an evil corporation?

@123akis Right with you on this. I'll add a couple of extra points:
1. Every other company charges for online services. Why are people complaining about Nintendo doing so?
2. This is the first time in a while that we get 2 controllers bundle with the console. Right from the start two person can play together without needing aditional hardware. The extra Joy-cons and pro controller are optionals. I don't see how people are complaining about this.

@Moon I give you some games are a bit overpriced. But remember Pokemon is still to come, aswell as other popular RPG like Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Shin Megami. The fact that this games are not lauch titles doesn't mean they won't be coming and potencially be system sellers. This console is replacing wii u and 3ds so all the popular franchises that were on thoses systems are coming to Switch. That alone give it a huge advantage over wii u. I would not let the negativity of some people here worry me. Switch is already on a good path.

Re: Guide: A Breakdown of Confirmed Nintendo Switch Games and Release Dates

Billsama

No many games at lauch, but since I will probably be playing Zelda for a while, that is actually ok. I don't know if people can play dozens of games at once, but I certantly can't. So I can get Zelda on March and then wait a bit for Mario Kart.

For those asking where are the big AAA US titles, they are on PS4, you can always buy one of those I guess.

Re: Shovel Knight Is Coming To Nintendo Switch With Gender Swapping And Co-Op Modes

Billsama

@GravyThief Spectre Knight campaign will unlock once you finish the main game. It will be available from the menu.

This was a long time coming, this guys has been working on new content for the game since forever and releasing everything for free. I think is fair they charge for the new campaigns. Even if this pricing will be confusing to some (specially some readers here that apparently doesn't know how to read) I have the game on 3DS. Don't think I'll buy it again on Switch but who knows. It is a fantastic game and anyone that had played the second campaign knows it is practically a new game. So looking forward to the new content.

By the way, gender swap mode isn't really an important feature. Is there just for fun and apparently as a resource for clickbait-y titles.

Re: Soapbox: The Nintendo Switch's Final Specs Don't Matter

Billsama

Specs only matters because Sony and MS used it as a promotional point. "The new XBOX is better because it is more powerfull"

That idea is way down in consumers minds right now. Specially younger generations.

The true is, this companies doesn't have the level of quality games and IPs that Nintendo have. Of course they will focus on other stuff like specs.

I will never need a realistic Mario games, I want a fun and inventive Mario games. So yeah, in Nintendo's case, specs don't matter because Nintendo make good games.

Re: Pokémon Sun and Moon, Along With 3DS, Led 2016 Sales in Japan

Billsama

The fact that the wii U version is better doesn't detract from the fact that Super Mario Maker on 3DS is actually quite good. I'm pleased to see it selling well.

A good way to experience an unpresedent number of Mario levels on the go.

It is surprising to see 3DS leading sales after 6 years. That should prove that a console doesn't have to be the latest on technology to be a success as long as it has good games.

Re: Editorial: The 3D Effect - A Smart 3DS Feature That Struggled to Find Its True Depth

Billsama

I use my 3DS almost daily this days. I was a late adopter so I had a long catalogue of games to try. As other mentioned, Super Mario 3D Land and Ocarina of Time 3D are just awesome with the effect on. Other games that surprised me were some platformers like Shovel Knight, the 3D effect gave something special even to those 2D games. In general I love my system. I didn't get a N3DS because the Switch is on the horizon.

Having said that, I don't see much sense on getting so attached to a console that you wish it lives forever. As much as I love my 3DS, I'm ready to let it go. I can not wait to have a Switch in my hands and experience a new generation of great games.

Re: Newzoo Estimates Less Than Five Percent of Users Have Paid For Super Mario Run

Billsama

Would be interesting to see numbers on other pay games. Like titles from square enix. Had they made something near to 30millions? What have been the % of installs? I think 3 millions purchases in this case is a big number. And this numbers are not different from others pay games on the App Store. Of course a lot of people would download the thing out of curiosity but only a small percentage of that would actually buy it. In the case of Super Mario Run, with it premium price it was to be expected. I'm not sure why people like to pretend Nintendo is failing even when they succeed. There's an interesting psychology research hiding there.
