Giant Margarita has confirmed that it is bringing Party Golf to the Nintendo Switch.
This local multiplayer title has already been confirmed for Steam and PS4 release, and features 100 different game modes and randomly-generated stages.
The object is to get to the hole before the other players, and as you can see from the trailer above, it's "more party than golf" and looks like a whole barrel of laughs. It's also the perfect game to showcase the Switch's local multiplayer talents.
Is this another indie title you'll be adding to your must-have list? Let us know by taking a big old swing with your 9 iron at the comments section below.

How do you even come up with 100 game modes?
"The objective is to get to the hole before the other playas"
FTFY ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
OK, I need to get off reddit right now.
I am also impessed by the number of game modes. How is it even possible... Not really into golf but I'll check it out come release.
More multiplayer games i wont be buying. I am very concerned about the direction nintendo are taking after 30 years of single player tendo's, what's next multiplayer power button and home screen
Bloke I know had a hand in this game, will have to grab a copy, support a local business.
Looks lite. Not for me.
5$. no more.
So is anyone seeing a pattern in the games announced for Switch? Where are the major 3rd party games being announced?
Who said the switch doesn't have games
shovelware
why NINTENDO WHY?
so much for being picking what stuff make the switch eshop. I wonder when we get some really games for the switch
Looks like it could be a hell of a laugh with a big group of people. Reminds me of Runbow and that is certainly no bad thing.
I have an unhealthy addiction to golf games ( I don't even like actual golf) so I'll probably pick this one up.
@shaneoh good for you I like that 👍
@UK-Nintendo They have a lot of indie game, so what?
Seriously, I'm almost starting to regret that I bought Nintendo Switch. I love the hardware, I love Zelda, but it's 99% indie games right now and all announcements are random indie game.
I sure hope E3 won't be a big indie marathon and no big third party games.
Why is everyone whining about the fact that the Switch is constantly having games announced? Would we all prefer the Wii U with months of droughts only filled with RCMADIAX games? Sheesh. I'm hoping for a lot of third party reveals at E3, but I'm just excited that there won't be a 3 month gap post-launch with no software like we got with the Wii U.
@Meei Other than wishful thinking, if your main interest is major third party titles, why did you buy Nintendo hardware? The PS4 is the same price and has precisely that.
this looks fun, will look to pick this up if the price is right
Looks cheap to me. Exactly the kind of indie that makes them all look like shovelware in my eyes. Please give me some good exclusives until Splatoon 2 Nintendo.
@Meei let's hope they surprise us at e3. I doubt it but let's hope 😉
@MarioPhD
Well I'm a pretty bad spot. I love JRPGS (which PS4 have a lot) but I don't have a lot of time to play so it have to be a portable. I also have a 3DS and love it but it don't get a lot of games anymore so I had to pick between a Vita or Switch.
But hey, everything is not bad. Switch have a good start with Zelda, I am Setsuna, Disgaea 5 and Octopath Traveler down the road. I just don't hope Switch get become a dump for all indie/mobile games.
Do we really need to wait till E3 to hear some "real" game announcements ( for games that we won't see until somewhere 2018 / 2019 ).
The amount of shovel/crapware that is coming to the Switch is troublesome!
Seems Nintendo's new and improved Quality control is definitely working /sigh
Calling it a golf game is really odd. It is more of a multiplayer physics race. Think Team 17 Worms, except you are racing on procedurally generated levels. It's not a single player or AAA experience.
Honestly the Switch has as many AAA exclusives as PS4 or X1 did at launch. This is the new release cycle for all consoles. There is a AAA game every 4 months with a bunch of indie or niche titles in between. A lot of publishers and studios have closed their doors so don't expect the industry to pump out games like it was 2004.
@Oldbeardo Not really sure what you're referring to. Nintendo has always put out great local multiplayer games. Also, Nintendo is not the dev of this game, so it's a moot point. Personally, I say the more local multiplayer games the better.
As for 100 game modes? Seems silly. As if they just wanted to add that to the box for marketing purposes, but it's having the opposite effect for me - I just assume they will mainly all suck if there are that many game modes. Game seems interesting though, will keep my eye on it.
We're only four weeks into the Switch's life cycle. Given the track record with Nintendo consoles, big 3rd party publishers have a right to be skiddish. I'm giving it until E3. If there are no major AAA 1st and 3rd party game announcements at E3 (and I don't mean rehashed Wii U ports) and/or no Virtual Console, then I'll have some problems.
However, if the Nintendo Switch is selling as well as we think it is, 3rd parties will be there. That's the rule. They go where the money is. They ported all the Call of Duty games to the Wii for goodness sake.
Looks cool. I've enjoyed similar looking golf games on my phone. Doing multiplayer should be fun.
Is this the start of shovelware in the Switch?
@Meei relax! That is every console in year one. The games will come.
@Meei I definitely appreciate that you're not one of those folks who seems to come to the comments section to mewl about how the Switch is precisely what it was advertised as this entire time. (Not naming any names....)
As someone who also doesn't have a ton of time for gaming anymore, I can never really understand the people who have the time to play and beat so many games; I had plenty of games even for the Wii U that I never got to play or finish by the end of its short life.
For me, I've only ever expected great Nintendo first party support and a ton of great indies, and I think we're off to a pretty good start on that front! I definitely do hope we get some good third party titles, but I've learned from the Wii and Wii U not to expect that.
@MarioPhD
Yeah for people that love indies Switch looks like heaven. I mean you can even find comments on this site from people that will buy the same indie game for the second or third time (I don't really see the point but oh well).
I actually owned Wii U, but mostly for party games. Sadly 1-2 Switch is way to gimmicky for us, would rather have a Mario Party/Wii Party U.
I prefer my trusty 7 iron, thanks! It's also much easier to putt with!
@SCAssassin the same way as Asian bootleggers came up with "9999 games" per cartridge?
Angry Birds + Peggle = system seller
Here is a game I need in my life
I have to say, I watched the video for this on the PS4's store, and it looked horrible...not a good golf-party game at all...and the reviews for it prove it on the PS4. Other than that, I'll be waiting for New Hot Shots Golf on PS4, keep playing Mario Golf Toadstool Tour on gamecube (anxiously awaiting a new Mario Golf to come to nintendo Switch (since they skipped Wii which would have been perfect and also skipped the Wii U with it).
One part golf, one part Scorched Earth, and it's all in realtime. Madness!!
This looks like a lot of silly fun. Since when is that such a bad thing? Even if it's just a time-waster or a game you only pull out when you're with a couple friends or at a party, it looks enjoyable and should be worth a purchase if the cost isn't unreasonable.
I personally don't give a crap about 3rd party "mainstream" titles. If you want Call of Duty 17 1/2: Super Spinoff 39: Pay to Win Edition, get it on your PC or other console. Then when you want to play something actually original and fun, turn your Switch on. Not really seeing the problem.
@Oldbeardo seriously I can't believe they would make a game like this without online play. Like bowling, darts and auto racing. They should include online play not local play. I can't remember ever playing local WiFi on DS or 3DS. Huge waste of programming just to be able to stamp multilayer on it when more than likely it will never be used unless your in a household with a bunch of game lovers. We used to be that way here with Bomber man Tournaments but my kids all grew up and left. Now it's just Holiday tournaments if the kids come to visit
Golf? This looks like one of those awful tank/cannon aiming games from the late 80s/early 90s. I've grown up with my share of freeware/shareware variations/clones of the concept and I've never liked them. This is no exception.
Wake me up when there's a real golf game with motion controls. Sadly, it seems that EA has put the PGA Tour series on an indefinite hiatus, with the last instalment being released in 2015 (and the last instalment on a Nintendo console being released 6 years ago on Wii).
