Re: You Can Now Pre-Register for Super Mario Run on Android

Billsama

Done! Wasn't expecting it so soon. But I'm ready!

This confirms to me that launching it first on IOS was a partnership with Apple. And that's fine, Apple gave the game a lot of promotion on tha App Store and the launch became an event. Now there will be new headlines with the Android release, though they will certainly be less and I'm not sure Android users will be willing to pay $10. I will certainly do it.

Re: Nintendo Slams 3DS Homebrew App Which Enables Piracy With Takedown Notice

Billsama

This types of articles never fails. Good on you NL, getting a lot of traffic the easy way.

And here is my contribution

@nhSnork If you pirate a game and have it in your HDD it doesn't disappear from the developer's archive and it doesn't prevent others from using it, that is true with all softwares, does that mean all softwares should be free? I can imagine we won't have a lot of games being release if that becomes a reality.

I used emulators and pirated games for quite some time, I didn't have money to buy them so that was my only way to enjoy them. Including some nintendo titles (My parents couldn't afford a console) I didn't have enough information to know that was wrong. But now that I have my own money I'm more than happy paying for my games. Sometimes I like what I buy and sometimes I don't. That's how it work.

I'm pretty sure the only people who defends piracy had never created anything in their life. Because otherwise they will understand how piracy affects creators.

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Plummets Despite Super Mario Run Downloads and Revenue Performance

Billsama

@8bitforever Putting microtransactions in a game is no way to make it better. That is a cheap practice. Same thing with FTP games. They're designed to milk the wallet of the player.

You have to give credit to Nintendo for trying something different. A Mario game for $10 is a good deal. Remember this is Nintendo's most recognizable character, they won't want to low the value of the brand by making a cheap mobile game. They're making a premium, well designed and fun game. People can always opt for a free clone instead. I have tried some and NintendoLife even published an article listing others. Anyone who had played one of those games knows they are really bad and make monetization decisions that ruin the user experience. Quality comes with a price and I think that is what we should get from Nintendo's approach.

Re: Eurogamer Report Suggests Nintendo Switch GPU Runs 60 Percent Slower When Undocked

Billsama

Hilarious. Chill out folks, do you want a new Nintendo console with great games or do you want a PS4 with a Nintendo logo on the front? I seriously fail to understand all the uproar. Whoever is looking for Switch to be equal to the other consoles in order to play big AAA western games, guess what? You CAN buy the other console istead. What's stopping you?

Seriously @ThomasBW84 , how did this person got a star on his name?

Re: Review: Super Mario Run (Mobile)

Billsama

@Equinox I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan and I can't wait to play this game. So yeah!

Anyway, game is trending N°1 on twitter right now. That's a good start. Everybody seems to be enjoying it. Everybody with an Iphone, at least. We Android users on the other hand ¯(ツ)

Re: Yooka-Laylee Rattles Away From Wii U Release

Billsama

@ToneDeath "We'd like to apologise to those affected by this development and offer all Wii U backers the opportunity to move their pledge free-of-charge to any of the versions launching on April 11th (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac or Linux) or upgrade to the Nintendo Switch version when we announce further details in 2017." The answer is right there in the article

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Will Rely on Switch Word of Mouth Due to Strange Presentation Timing

Billsama

It is interesting that European fans are so offended by this timing. I am reading some comments from Australian fans who feel that this timing is really great for the first time. And here in Latin America, well, we are not even mentioned when schedules are listed, so our reality has always been to adapt to the timing that suits the rest of the world and we have never had a problem doing so.

Do not complain so much. The world is big and what does not work for you may work for others. I am sure there will be many videos and articles to digest in the morning. Also, as far as I know, that will not be the only live demo that Nintendo will do.

Re: The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is Looking Like a Decent Bet for Nintendo Switch

Billsama

@Popful I'm not an expert on the game and there's a whole community around it that might be able to give a better answer, but for what I have read in the devlog and having played the original and a little bit of Afterbirth I can said that is pretty much what they are doing. The new content often come in the form of new items and new rooms.

You are playing the game right. The thing is, the game is procedurally generated, that means everytime you start a new play, the game will pick items and room, from a pool of unlocked ones and build your map from that.

That way, everytime you play, the game will feel different, and as you play you will unlock new content that will be added to the pool and available in your next quests.

That's pretty rad. But, when the number of items, enemies and rooms available are more than 100, the game can feel a bit overstuffed and random. Some people love it for that though.

Re: Capcom Reaffirms Commitment To Resurrecting Its Vast Catalogue Of "Dormant IP"

Billsama

@gcunit Just as I feared it. I was thinking that maybe the reason NL allows this kind of users is because they generate a lot of traffic with their negative comments and the subsequent respond from annoyed fans. Surely wasn't expecting to see a moderator defending a troll but what can you do.

Now you shouldn't be attacking a fan because he got tired of that users constant negativity. It is annoying to find his comments on every article. If you allow that, then is just fair to also allow a complaint about it.

@EightyTwoStu Even if I don't agree with the rest of @gcunit comment, I think he's right on something: Just ignore that particular user, he is here to do that, he is part of the site ecosystem. It seems we can't do anything about it. So take that advice and just ignore him. You will enjoy the site more that way.

Re: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS Makes Modest UK Debut as Pokémon Stays in Top 10

Billsama

I'm having a blast with Mario Maker on 3DS. If there's one thing I didn't liked about 3D Land was the short amount of courses. I can't complaint with this one. 100 levels made by Nintendo and every time I go to Course World I have 8 new levels to play. Sad that it's not doing that great, I hoped if enough people buy it we would have updates with the missing features. Pretty sure they cut them out in order to have it ready for the holidays.

Re: Guide: Getting To Grips With EV Training In Pokémon Sun And Moon

Billsama

@Nagi_Nagisa Good to know I'm not the only one that has a problem with this. Looks like too much and unnecessary trouble to train competitive pokemon now. At least I don't have the time for it. It would be cool if there were an amateur mode for online battles. I want to enjoy battles against other players but with this rules I have no chance of winning one. Unless I quit work and dedicate my life to breeding imaginary monsters on a virtual world.

Re: Talking Point: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS and 'Super Mario Challenge' - A New Future for 2D Mario

Billsama

Good read. I fear that Super Mario Maker for 3DS is just a way to artificially extent the life of the game a bit more. While waiting for the Switch. I don't expect it to receive many DLC, if any.

Now if Super Mario Run is as successful as it appears it will be, then I expect that to be the new platform for 2D Mario entries. Which is fine for me, as long as we get it on Android soon.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st December (Europe)

Billsama

I'm looking for SMM on 3DS and still deciding if I should get 3D Sonic 2. Everybody say is an awesome port.

Can't believe people still complaint about not getting new games for wii u There are plenty of good deals to get a 3DS this holidays if you can't wait for Switch.

Re: AM2R And Pokémon Uranium Nominations Revoked At 2016 Game Awards

Billsama

@MarcelRguez You are using the same arguments a couple of friends of mine use to defends their ideas of open knowledge and open source software. The thing is, no matter if we don't agree with the law, it is still the law. And it is illegal to use assets copyrighted by someone else. The fact that this assets are not a non-renewable resource and Nintendo will not lose the ability to use them because a fan made game with them, is actually irrelevant. What it is important is that the guy behind AM2R didn't had permission to make that game using that IP.

Other argument I see frequently is that this games happens because people want a new Metroid game and since Nintendo won't make one, fans will make it for them.

And that is also wrong. Nintendo could decide not to make a new metroid game ever again and it would still be illegal to make one without their permission.

Now I'm not saying fans shouldn't do whatever they want. They can, but if they choose to do something illegal, why to be surprised when they are taken down?
