Re: Surprise! There's A New Nintendo Direct Coming, And It's Due Tomorrow

I’m holding out for a really good solitaire port. It needs to be 60fps 1080 in docked mode and so detailed I can see the dirt on the edge of the cards. Plus a cool story mode where you play a gold prospector whos stranded in a wood cabin with nothing but a pack of cards and a bottle of bourbon. Life and death stuff.

@Ervex_109 Bye bye? So soon? Surely not?

“If you call someone a philistine, you mean that they do not care about or understand good art, music, or literature, and do not think that they are important.” - Collins English Dictionary (Slightly more reliable than dictionary.com)

We have yet to discuss art, music or literature however I am happy to do so. I have all night.

@Ervex_109 Thanks for all your help and advice my friend, it’s very much appreciated. It’s always nice when people take the time to offer constructive criticism rather than stooping to pointless antagonistic remarks. Quick point though... wasn’t actually making an argument to the masses. Just commenting on a recent experience I had. Small detail I know but if you could help me in making it clearer in the future that would be great.

@Ervex_109 Thanks for your patronising comment. It is very much appreciated. Yes as someone who has worked in retail all his life I am aware that having a high street presence does come with an inherent cost however we are not talking about two different stores here. Most high street stores that have a website not only operate with price parity but will actively encourage you to purchase online and collect instore. GAME operates its website as a complete separate entity to its high street stores.

Re: GAME Praises Nintendo and Talks of 'A Constant Supply of Stock' for Switch

GAME are actually improving quite a lot. Went into one of their stores the other day and the first display I came to was Nintendo. Don’t get me wrong they relegated Nintendo to the dark corners during the Wii U era but at the end of the day they are running a business not a charity. My only real complaint is their price differences between online and instore. Website had DOOM at 40 notes and the store had it at 45.

Re: Hands On: Watching Hulu on the Nintendo Switch

BigBadJohn

I don’t care about streaming apps and my opinion is the right one because... it is. On an aside surely the other streaming services will be scrambling to get on the console now so as not to lose ground to Hulu. Oh and I’ve got a 70” Gold embossed TV. I feel it’s important that people know this.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Sold 4.7 Million Units Worldwide

BigBadJohn

@gatorboi352 I suppose that's the difference between evidence and speculation. You can speculate that it will continue to do well or you can speculate that it won't. Either way it's just opinion. The evidence shows that it has sold incredibly well. This is a good news story for any Nintendo fan and a bad news story for anyone who enjoys pouring scorn.

Re: WWE 2K18 is Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

BigBadJohn

@Priceless_Spork That was a good one. I like the classics like that one where Hulk Hogan was getting a beat down for the entire match and then suddenly for no apparent reason he got up and shook his head, stomped around the ring and won with a kick to the face and an atomic leg drop. You couldn't write stuff like that!

Re: First Impressions: Kicking Off With FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch

BigBadJohn

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Appreciate what you're saying but that implies that there's never been a good football game that hasn't run on frostbite or have the "journey" mode. Don't get me wrong if you play 100% docked and have a PS4 or Xbox you may as well get the other console version. However if you do play 100% docked you kinda missing the Switch USP.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Ubisoft's Nintendo Switch Reveals at E3 2017?

BigBadJohn

@SanderEvers True however a new IP does cost a lot of money and carries potentially more risk than the other well established titles. The fact they are showing how'll it will work specifically with the Switch rather than PS4 or X1 can only be seen as a good thing. And I know it's been said before but these big AAA titles have a long development cycle (typically 4 years) and the Switch is brand new so we probs won't see them for awhile. Once they are out the port process is much quicker as long as the switch is powerful enough to handle them. At the moment that' is a big "if".

Re: Hori's Nintendo Switch Voice Chat Headset Looks Like A Wired Nightmare

BigBadJohn

I'm a massive fan of the Switch and have defended Nintendo on most issues since launch but even I see this as a convoluted solution. The obvious need for this is the app will just handle chat and not in game sounds thus this is required for in game sound and chat going through one set of headphones. A work around for an issue that shouldn't exist. I appreciate that it being both handheld and docked creates extra issues but still.
