@johnvboy oh I’ve already bought it and am currently playing with Mitie my Pikachu in his Pokeball prison. I just don’t know whether I should hate it because people who haven’t played it say it shouldn’t exist or love it because it’s sold loads. I need the internet to tell me because me enjoying it isn’t a reliable indicator.
I’m holding out for a really good solitaire port. It needs to be 60fps 1080 in docked mode and so detailed I can see the dirt on the edge of the cards. Plus a cool story mode where you play a gold prospector whos stranded in a wood cabin with nothing but a pack of cards and a bottle of bourbon. Life and death stuff.

@Ervex_109 Thanks for all your help and advice my friend, it’s very much appreciated. It’s always nice when people take the time to offer constructive criticism rather than stooping to pointless antagonistic remarks. Quick point though... wasn’t actually making an argument to the masses. Just commenting on a recent experience I had. Small detail I know but if you could help me in making it clearer in the future that would be great.
@Ervex_109 I will try my best in the future to explain everything in minute detail and use simplistic language for you. Don’t want anyone being left behind.
@Ervex_109 Thanks for your patronising comment. It is very much appreciated. Yes as someone who has worked in retail all his life I am aware that having a high street presence does come with an inherent cost however we are not talking about two different stores here. Most high street stores that have a website not only operate with price parity but will actively encourage you to purchase online and collect instore. GAME operates its website as a complete separate entity to its high street stores.
GAME are actually improving quite a lot. Went into one of their stores the other day and the first display I came to was Nintendo. Don’t get me wrong they relegated Nintendo to the dark corners during the Wii U era but at the end of the day they are running a business not a charity. My only real complaint is their price differences between online and instore. Website had DOOM at 40 notes and the store had it at 45.
I don’t care about streaming apps and my opinion is the right one because... it is. On an aside surely the other streaming services will be scrambling to get on the console now so as not to lose ground to Hulu. Oh and I’ve got a 70” Gold embossed TV. I feel it’s important that people know this.
I really liked this video but I feel I must score it a 0/10 simply to balance out all the 10/10 it’s bound to get. Plus I’ve heard people say it’s really easy to watch so I’m going to use their opinion as mine so people know I’m good at games. Hashtagworstgameever!
@gatorboi352 I suppose that's the difference between evidence and speculation. You can speculate that it will continue to do well or you can speculate that it won't. Either way it's just opinion. The evidence shows that it has sold incredibly well. This is a good news story for any Nintendo fan and a bad news story for anyone who enjoys pouring scorn.
@Priceless_Spork That was a good one. I like the classics like that one where Hulk Hogan was getting a beat down for the entire match and then suddenly for no apparent reason he got up and shook his head, stomped around the ring and won with a kick to the face and an atomic leg drop. You couldn't write stuff like that!
We probs won't get massive AAA third party games. However as long as Nintendo keeps producing amazing games and they nurture indies (where most innovative titles seem to be coming from) then I'm fine with that.
Okay so anyone know if you can buy one in the UK today? I've seen a S8 adapter on Amazon but someone asked if it worked on Switch and was told No. If they are widely available in China anyone know of a website that ships to UK?
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Appreciate what you're saying but that implies that there's never been a good football game that hasn't run on frostbite or have the "journey" mode. Don't get me wrong if you play 100% docked and have a PS4 or Xbox you may as well get the other console version. However if you do play 100% docked you kinda missing the Switch USP.
When I went into Game the other week to preorder Splatoon 2 the guy behind the counter spent 10 minutes flicking through a laminated folder before asking me what console it was on. You can't beat excellent product knowledge in a retail establishment.
@davetheshrew I remember when Comet went down in the UK. I worked for a rival company at the time. Hundreds of customers lost thousands of pounds of gift cards. They had like maybe a two week period to use them before they wiped the lot.
From what I understand the gameplay in the Switch version is a bit more arcadey to encourage more of a pick up and play feel. This suggests that it's more than a half arsed port and the developers have really thought about the console and it's unique attributes. I'll probably pick this up but still need more info.
@SanderEvers True however a new IP does cost a lot of money and carries potentially more risk than the other well established titles. The fact they are showing how'll it will work specifically with the Switch rather than PS4 or X1 can only be seen as a good thing. And I know it's been said before but these big AAA titles have a long development cycle (typically 4 years) and the Switch is brand new so we probs won't see them for awhile. Once they are out the port process is much quicker as long as the switch is powerful enough to handle them. At the moment that' is a big "if".
You can't really say that UbiSoft don't care about Nintendo when their new Multiplatform IP prominently shows off Switch compatibility and integration. Attaching a toy to my joycons doesn't really do it for me but still it shows that the switch is definitely on their radar.
I'm a massive fan of the Switch and have defended Nintendo on most issues since launch but even I see this as a convoluted solution. The obvious need for this is the app will just handle chat and not in game sounds thus this is required for in game sound and chat going through one set of headphones. A work around for an issue that shouldn't exist. I appreciate that it being both handheld and docked creates extra issues but still.
I never got the MH hype. I had the Wii U version and for whatever reason it just didn't grip me. However I do know this is crazy popular in Japan so this is fantastic news. The Switch will fly off the shelves over there convincing more third parties to jump on board. The Switch for world domination!
I use it exclusively as a handheld unless it's docked at which point I use it as a home console. Sometimes I alternate every two minutes from docked to handheld. The Switch is billed as a hybrid and I like to get my money's worth. I've never used it in tabletop mode as I don't own a table. Yet another expensive accessory Nintendo are forcing us to buy!
@BLP_Software Personally I think Tetris has always been a better portable game. It's more expensive on Switch but your not restricted on how and where you play it. People will say it's because we don't have much choice when it comes to what we buy but I am already in the position of having too many games to play properly.
