As most of you know, NL Towers and many of its staff are plonked lovingly in the middle of the United Kingdom, a land of fish, chips, and offensively bulky power plugs. Electronics manufacturer Mu has been producing a folding plug design for a few years now, and now they've turned their focus towards USB-C and therefore the Nintendo Switch.
The Mu One promises on its Kickstarter campaign that this plug will not only be extremely compact and internationally compatible, even with the UK's ludicrous if effective three-prong system, but also punch out a whopping 45W should your device demand it. This is more than enough to power not only the Switch but also the dock, which is notoriously power hungry for USB-C.
It's already managed to quadruple its initial goal of £20,000, but has this portable power plug piqued your interest? Let us know in the comments below.

Im not interested in this....but i just watched the new trailer for the pokemon movie....now that was interesting 😅
No
I have never backed anything on Kickstarter or Indigogo, but I understand why people would fund an album by a band they like or a game that looks exciting, but who goes on Kickstarter and funds USB power supplies? Odd.
I once used my phone charger cord to charge my Switch. Shortly afterwards, my Switch became bricked and refused to boot. Called Nintendo and they said the issue was likely the battery. Not sure if these are related or just a coincidence, but I'm not taking that chance. Since I got my replacement unit from EB Games, I have only used official Nintendo cables with my Switch. Never again.
I bought a fancy Switch travel pack to have my dock in and all the other stuff. This won't be necessary for me.
I travel alot and this seems perfect to me, as a lot of travel adapters are quite chunky, will look into this.
So what happens when this bricks your switch like that one dock? will they replace it? doubt it, pass!
The official Nintendo one is cheaper and actually quite compact.
I don't think I'd trust 3rd party accessories just yet given the horror stories I've heard. None worse than that portable Nyko Switch dock.

You what? This is the proper way to make a plug. As always, other regions do it wrong.
careful, most of them are scams. I can design a lot of stuff in photoshop and Maya but that does not make me an accomplished electric engineer.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE UK plugs are simply the best and safest!
Don’t need a plug, what would people recommend for a battery pack that can also charge the switch? I mostly play handheld so need a portable power source.
I remember there was an article that explained about it (Anker battery pack?) but can’t find it.
@cfgk24 Except when you stand on them...
@cfgk24 strange thing to be proud of. Your right but still.
@chardir Worse than Lego - true!
@BigBadJohn I do a lot of travelling! Always nice to get home to a UK plug - knowing it's not going to fall out of the socket or go up in flames. . .
????????
It's so expensive, so freaking worthless, you can get recognized brands usb-c chargersfor much less, even Xiaomi USB-C charger with a c-to-c cable costs half that, which you can import for free from AliExpress.
Nope. Too many others have ruined the legitimacy of these Switch accessories.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Never a truer word said!

I have the non USB-C version of this and it's really great.

Of the many things we do well, our plug is one of the best. It might seem like an odd thing to be proud of but it truly is the safest, and most sensible, plug design. Just don't stand on it.
I like the UK plugs more than any other ones.

Your face does it wrong. Sick of you relentlessly downplaying places where you don't happen to live.
A plug for all types of switches.
Nope, product like these had been a disaster on Kickstarter especially when most of the promised were either never fulfilled or stay true to what the original plan was intended to be.
Im perfectly happy with just using my cellphone charger. Switch has such a fine screen to use while on the go, so the dock stays at home.
@10-zx Then move here.
British plug pride! Love it

No!
Oh, that's neat!
TLDR - potential death trap, don't take the risk with any aftermarket power adaptors.
Having watched a very experienced electrical engineer tear down a 3rd party power supply and explain exactly how much of a "made by the cheapest bidder who cares not for safety and will happily attach any required safety logos despite not complying with them" death trap they are, I will never buy another 3rd party power supply.
@BionicDodo I have never backed Kickstarter and never will. Bands, movies, games, etc... doesn’t matter. I am not a bank and there is plenty of stuff out today that I can spend my money on.
