Re: Feature: Which New Hisuian Pokémon Are Viable For Competitive Play?

Benexcelsior

There is no competitive format yet with these new 'mons.
We don't even know what the netx game will be and if it will follow the old formula.
There are no abilites in Legend Arceus. Many offensive moves have been scaled back and most boosting moves now affect normal and special stats (hopefully what I said made sense?)
It's just too soon to assume anything.
Heh, NL gotta generate clicks on their Website somehow.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Deserted Island Diary Releases Later This Month

Benexcelsior

@Snatcher
Everything you just wrote are essentially every issues I have with this game.
Tbh, there is a trend in Nintendo Switch games to cut content(Mario Party, Mario Tennis).
We were all hoping that missing parts would eventually come to the game later, but it never happened.
I totally respect those who love this game, but I find it awful, bland, repetitive, shallow...but cute. Lol

Re: Poll: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Is One Week Away - Which Game Will You Play First?

Benexcelsior

The nostalgia business is in full swing. Tbh, I understand the appeal of those 3 classics, but I am completely surprised to witness so many people willing to throw money away on old games. I bet the Switch 2 or next console will have a collection with Galaxy 2 and people will double dip. I am just stunned by how easy it is for Nintendo to make money on very very old products.
That said, have fun

Re: Most Animal Crossing: New Horizons Players Are In Their 20s And 30s

Benexcelsior

Which baffles me why Nintendo still mainly target and create these games for a much younger audience. It is the same principle with Pokemon (I know, Gamefreaks). The younger audience really enjoy mobile game on online gaming which are not Nintendo's strongest points. Regardless, adults really do enjoy video games and I think Nintendo can do a better job to cater an adult audience outside of nostalgia.

@Damo
May I remind you of the mission of Nintendolife :
"The Nintendo Life team is dedicated to bringing you the biggest news and trustworthy reviews from the wide world of Nintendo".
This article has nothing to do with informing the public.
Everytime you reply to readers, it fells condescending. Imagine a journalist replying to readers of an article because they voice their opinions...Just let it slide and write news and reviews.
Thank you

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player Builds LEGO Tool That Plays The Game For Them

Benexcelsior

I feel like some people are defending this game without been rational. Don't feel offended by this. Remind me of some individuals defending Pokemon Sword/Shield while there was some major problems within the game.
I see some comments "the game is meant to be slow" or "this is like real life". I disagree simply because this is a video game. In real life, you would not only prepare a fish bate, but also attach it to your fishing rod, wait for a while and maybe have a chance to reel in a fish. It's not real life, you still want to have fun while playing. What I mean by that, is this game could use MANY quality of life improvements because some aspect of the game are uselessly repetitive. It might get better but the devs are making some aspects of the game slow for no reason. Take the intro of Splatoon 2 for example made by the same director as ACNH.
Sorry for the long post.

Re: Players Spent $26 Million On DeNA's New Mobile Game Pokémon Masters In The First Week

Benexcelsior

Honestly, I love this game!
I played Pokemon all my life except Let's GO and I don't intend to buy Sword and Shield.
There is more challenge and strategy in this game then most Pokemon titles in recent years. I had to change my strategy a few times to beat certain chapters of the game. They kind of force you to use different trainers to mix it up. Moreover, trainers have more personalities in this games then all Pokemon games combined. I just finished the last chapter and there is still things to do and Pokemon to level up. I DIDN'T SPEND ANY MONEY ON THIS GAME.
I usually hate 3 on 3 battle in Pokemon, but Masters makes it fun and fast paced.
Hate all you want but I played for free and it was loads of fun.
Just wanted to balance things out a little.

Re: Splatoon 2 News Channel Giving Out Free Drink Tickets Next Week

Benexcelsior

My ONLY complaint about Splatoon 2 is the the ability system. The ability chunks, clothing's brand forcing you to choose certain gear simply to get the ability you need is really bothersome. If you want to test every ability to its full potential, nous need to grind for hours and hope you get lucky with the drink tickets...
I wished players could simply choose the abilities and the gears they want. I am sure this would help new players to better understand each unique ability and make the game a bit more tactical for casual players.

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Sells 3 Million Copies In First Week, Becomes Fastest-Selling Game On Switch

Benexcelsior

I did not buy the game. Still, those who go on a rant against "the haters" telling that people can't judge a game that they don't buy. Well...it's not because a game sells well that it is good. I just want you to see the other side of the argument. If an Ariana Grande album outsold a Pink Floyd album, it doesn't mean that it's better and that people should shut up about it. Pokemon always sell very well, it doesn't mean it's better than Mario Odyssey because it outsold it. I hope you guys understand my point and lay easy on "the haters should shut up because the game is popular" argument.

Re: Guide: How To Unlock Mew In Pokémon: Let's Go On Nintendo Switch

Benexcelsior

@oji I know people will strongly disagree with you on piracy, but I don’t. I was telling my friends how it sucks that there is so many games out there but very few ways to try them first. I spent money on many games not worth my time and I wished I could try them before buying. Demos are pretty rare these days.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - October 2018

Benexcelsior

I understand that one doesn't always have the money to buy more than one gaming device but man...these games were released years ago and are worth less than 10$ on other platforms. I bought Child of Light (awesome game) 3 years ago for 8 dollars on Wii U. It's currently 6 dollars on Steam. I'm always surprise to witness people buying these games full price on the Switch. Diablo III sells for 25$ on Steam compared to 60$ on Switch....a game that was released in 2012....2012!

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Won't Include Pro Controller Support

Benexcelsior

@aaronsullivan ''It is an inlet for the uninitiated and those who came to Pokemon through Pokemon Go. It is ushering in new fans while they take time with the main game for the traditional fans.''
I don't know...The reason why so many people played Pokemon Go must be that it's free. Having to pay for a Nintendo Switch + 60$ game (80$ in Canada) might be too expensive for players who simply use the game for free on their mobile phone.
Although I do agree that Let's Go and the core game do not have the same target audience.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 3rd)

Benexcelsior

@sketchturner I bought the game this week as well. I was charmed at first, but the game becomes a chore near the end. I love golf and I love video games. Sid Meier's Sim Golf is one of my favorite game ever, but playing the most of the courses twice in row is a drag. I probably won't finish the game. Still fun though!
