Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?

Bananaman678

I'm on vacation right now, so I haven't been playing all that much. But, I did pick up Wonder Boy on Switch, so I've been slowly working through that. The Smash reveal also really got me in the mood for that series, so my aunt and I have been doing the event mode and Subspace in Brawl! It's nice to revisit that one after the two of us have played so much of the Wii U and 3DS versions.

I was able to get myself a SNES classic due to the restocks last week, so I've been going through Yoshi's Island for the first time! That is a fantastic game, although 5-3 reeeeeeeeally tested my patience. I hope to finish it up today. I'm also planning on jumping back into Fire Emblem Warriors on Switch, since I never finished it due to Odyssey launching just a week later. If I'm feeling really ambitious, I might work on DOOM a bit more as well, but I think FE:W will be my main game on Switch for a little bit.

The way everyone is ripping into Josh is gross. Based on the comments half these people are just spitting back what they've heard. Most of this isn't true and just a projection since he dislikes some of Nintendo's moves. Josh has a mouth but he's honest, creative, and EXTREMELY talented. I loved this episode of make beleive and I can't wait for more content under the Nintendo Beyond name.

Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Countdown - Less Than a Week to Go, Is the Hype Building?

Bananaman678

I Pre-Ordered my Switch last month with GameStop, and it will for sure be here on the third!! Very excited. I am gonna get Fast RMX digitally and I have a copy of BoTW coming from Amazon. I am a bit nervous that it will not be here launch day because of Amazon's iffy past, but this is my first time pre-ordering with them. (Angry Joe's Titanfall 2 experiance has me worried, but I am hopeful that it will make it in time.). I am hyped out of my mind and will be able to test out all of its features right away as two days after launch I am heading on vacation so I will be testing out the single Joy Con multiplayer in Fast RMX with my sister. It seems like my Wii U and PS4 won't be seeing much play time for a while!!

Bananaman678

Perfect. Will be picking this up Day 1 with Zelda: BoTW! I wanted a co op game I could play with my sister, and it looks like this will be it. I also never played it on Wii U so I am glad to have the chance to play it before Mario Kart 8 Deluxe dominates my racing fix like 8 did on my Wii U! Very glad it supports the single Joy-Con too as I won't have enough funds to buy another set of Joy-Cons day 1. 20$, great price! I was gonna get Super Bomberman R to play with my sister but not at a 50$ price point.

Re: There Are Currently 'No Plans' For Final Fantasy XV On Nintendo Switch

Bananaman678

Don't really care; played the game on PS4 and did not really like it that much. THAT SAID, if the Switch is going to succeed with 3rd party support, Nintendo needs to meet devs in the middle and help them get games over. I think what is more important though is that Nintendo begins to get games day and date with PS4/X1. While the Switch is not as powerful as the HD twins a good install base and a bit it of cash from Nintendo will help 3rd party devs make the leap and port their games over. Heck, if Sony could get devs to make games such as Borderlands and Injustice run on Vita, Nintendo should be able to do the same especially considering the power discrepancy isnt nearly as large. 3rd party support is a big deal. For as much as I love my Wii U (and I do love my wii u, its my favorite console this gen) I had to buy a PS4 as well simply for those third party experiences. Regardless, I already have my Switch preordered. Only 3 more weeks!

Re: Feature: The Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards 2016

Bananaman678

I have to say I am surprised by Twilight Princess HD winning GOTY. While I played my wii u much less compared to my PS4, the wii u had some great releases. I think Pokken deserved the spot over the remake. While TP is certainly improved, it really isn't head and shoulders above the original. I played it for a bit but it did not hold me as I have already played the original wii version. Pokken felt very fresh and definitely kept me away from the ps4 for a good while. Similarly, while I am not too far in bc I only got the game for christmas, Color Splash is really good too. As for SF Zero, well, it just made me excited to replay SF 64 3D. A weak year for wii u, but I am looking forward to the future. As for 3DS, pretty good year! While I did not pick up too many titles I really enjoyed Super Mario Maker (The single player is much improved from the wii u release in my opinion) and Pokemon Sun was fantastic too. The hyperbole about it being the BEST generation is a bit ridiculous in my opinion however. Kirby Planet Robobot was OK, but did not feel as original and fun as Triple deluxe, but still enjoyable. I really want to get around to FE Fates, but that one just slipped past me. This year just felt a little dull in terms of Nintendo releases but the Switch looks very promising.

Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Delivers Single Screen Gaming - Will You Miss the Dual Screen Concept?

Bananaman678

I really dont miss the second screen. I have both a 3ds and a Vita. The single of the vita is leaps and bounds above that of the 3ds in my opinion because it allows for a wider, clearer screen as well as raised sticks and buttons. So, i was very happy to see that the Switch looks a lot like my vita. On the wii u side, i dont really like the gamepad, because it felt very forced. There are some occasions where i really enjoyed it, such as Nintendo land and legend of zelda ww hd, but overall, it is just ok.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated Wii U and 3DS Games For the Rest of 2016?

Bananaman678

Pokemon sun is a day one for me. Stardew Valley and Shantae are also must haves for me but if either come to ps4/vita ill be getting that version instead. Finally Color Splash looks fantastic and i wish people would stop whining about it. Probably won't get it until christmas. Poor 1st party output again this year (volume wise) so i guess i will be sticking with my ps4 for the most part. Next year looks much brighter with the NX and LoZ Breath of the Wild so I'm quite excited for that.

Re: Super Mario Maker for 3DS Won't Have 3D Support

Bananaman678

Guys, this game isnt for wii u owners. Wii U is done. This is for the very large 50+ million 3ds owners who don't have a Wii U. The removal sucks but what ever they had to do is what they had to do. No 3d on new 3ds systems is surprising though.

Re: Talking Point: The Scale of the Mobile Industry Makes it an Important Market for Nintendo

Bananaman678

Fellow Android users; ya'll ever heard of an APK? 😅 Second, the overreaction to this is absurd. It is essentially a marketing tool to drum up hype for the NX by bringing Nintendo to an audience that isnt in touch. You'll get your real mario game. Nintendo releasing mobile games doesnt mean their "going mobile". Sony has a whole STUDIO making mobile games, GASP! Are they going mobile too??? No, of course not. It is just a supplemental stream of revenue.

Re: AM2R Developer Encourages Players to Support Metroid II On the eShop and to Avoid 'Hate' Against Nintendo

Bananaman678

I hate to say it, but Nintendo was clearly in the right to take down A2MR. This is a free game that directly competes with pieces of content Nintendo is selling. It's too bad to see it go like this, but the developer is right. Continue to show support and buy the classic metroid games. Buy prime, buy other M (that one is on VC right?). That is the only way to show your interest. Complaining at Nintendo or petitioning to take down Federation Force is childish. There are much more constructive ways to show Nintendo that there is demand for a conventional metroid.

Re: E3 2016: New Kind Of Mario Game Is Coming, Says Shigeru Miyamoto

Bananaman678

My best guess is a large true 3D Mario in the vein of galaxy or 64. This would not only give fans what they have been hoping for, but it could also be a showcase for the technical ability of the NX. long draw distances, great textures, a great sense of scale, etc. Hopefully it will be an original game, but it is very likely it would be galaxy 3.

Re: Talking Point: The Crowded Toys To Life Market Cut Its Weakest Link in Disney Infinity, Yet amiibo Should Be Safe

Bananaman678

Amiibo is by far the weakest. In fact I would say disney infinity had the best gameplay and figures of the three. Shame it had to be the first gone. Considering amiibo are continuously available on store pegs it isn't hard to see the amiibo train slowing down. I would venture to say Nintendo and their inability to fully use amiibo will lead them down the same path. Don't get me wrong, I love my amiibo, but more for the figure rather than the game.
